WELCOME TO CADNAM AUDIO.

Cadnam Audio is a new name, but with a Vintage history dating back to the late
1970’s.

Cadnam Audio is a new name, but with a Vintage history dating back to the late
1970’s. David Hall along with Alan Willis, his then partner, formed IAS
Loudspeakers in 1978. Around that time David had developed the special Horn
loading with the indeterminate length that became the system that all his future
designs were based on. David had previously been building transmission line
speakers since 1976. However, after meeting Alan Willis, (who had introduced him
to Horn loaded speakers) David then developed a Horn loading that allowedfor
smaller cabinet designs with much improved the sound that IAS designed and built
back then. The IAS Beaulieu was developed in 1980 and became a Vintage Classic
design.David departed the HiFi scene for a number of years, until he later
became involved with reviving the Beaulieu Speaker System.

However, it was not until he attended the launch ofthe revived IAS Beaulieu at
the Staveley, Daventry in October 2023, that he met two men who were looking for
a speaker designer and at the same time David had been looking for people who
could work with him, to develop some new designs and who had the knowledge and
expertise to put his designs into production.
The two men he met at that show are Gareth and Thomas Ellis who had design and
cabinet-making skills and machines to produce Davids designs. They are based in
Welshpool, Wales, which is only around 30 miles from where David and his Wife
live in Shropshire.

Gareth and Tom (Father & Son) are Welsh artisans and along with David and his
wife Christine have formed an amazing bond, friendship and working relationship.

That is when Cadnam Audio was formed. Many years previously back in 1978, IAS
built their first large speaker design and that was named the Cadnam. Therefore,
David thought it appropriate that the name Cadnam was chosen, named after a
small Village near
Bournemouth, England.
