   Always know where your luggage is. Airline and bus employees have been known
   to steal items out of cases when they are checked in. Additionally, other
   travelers might “accidentally” pick up your bag in hopes of finding expensive
   items. This also allows you to move between transit options faster, instead
   of standing around waiting for your luggage.
   
   Only pack the clothes you will need. In some instances, it does not pay to be
   over-prepared. Many people pack far too many clothes when they travel. This
   is a problem. It is especially a problem when they inadvertently lose the
   bags that contained them. Try packing multipurpose clothes that you can
   re-wear.
   
   Do not travel with wrapped gifts. When traveling for the holidays, it is
   tempting to get things done ahead of time and wrap all of your gifts, but
   don’t! The TSA does not allow wrapped gifts onto airlines and they may need
   to unwrap the gifts to inspect their contents.
   
   When you travel make sure you take a travel-size bottle of Febreeze or
   similar product in your handbag. The person who sat in the seat of the plane,
   bus, or train before you may not have had time to shower before sitting down
   for a long flight. Avoid spending your trip smelling the previous passenger’s
   body odor by spraying your seat with Febreeze.
   
   If you have allergies to cats, dogs or even dust, you should bring your
   allergy medicine along with you on the plane. People tend to bring their
   animals along on flights. Even if the animal isn’t accompanying them on the
   trip, they still have pet dander on their clothes.
   
   Don’t spend your money in local cheap gift shops. Find out what your travel
   location is famous for, and invest in a quality item or two. While, gift
   shops may be more affordable, they build on the idea that tourists don’t know
   what they’re buying and take advantage of it. You are usually sold items that
   are poorly manufactured and are sure to fall apart once you get home. To
   avoid being swindled by locals, invest in something of quality.
   
   If you’re going on a cruise, pack a travel mug with you. They’re great for
   filling up with coffee or tea while you’re wandering the ship in the
   mornings. They can also keep you from spilling your drink while in the buffet

   nice and cool for you.
   
   While Spanish is the lingua franca in most countries in the Western

   instead of paying for parking.
   
   Knowing what is and is not allowed on an airplane can save you a hassle at
   the airport. Many people do not realize that simple everyday items such as
   hand lotion, sunscreen, etc., are considered spreads and either need to be in
   a clear plastic bag, or in your checked luggage. It is best to check with the
   TSA website before you leave for your trip to ensure smooth sailing at the
   airport.
   
   Now you’re ready to hit the road, board the plane, hitch a ride or get on
   that train to whatever destination it is that tugs at your heartstrings.
