Digitalisation, which started particularly to improve internal organisational
work, and make internal record keeping paperless, is now taking place in every
process of banking from onboarding to credit delivery, says Dr. N. Kamakodi, MD
and CEO, City Union Bank.

"Going forward, now the attention is needed more at understanding the pain
points and removing them from each and every stage of banking," he says. The
market and customers are expecting the best from the sector in both traditional
trust and technology. In order to reach that expectation, the only way is to
understand the needs of the customers and stay ahead of the curve for which
digitalisation is playing a major role to improve efficiency, he adds. He
further highlights that banks are looking forward to having partnerships with
fintech as it is a growing sector and it's not possible to do everything on
their own. Working together and having alliances are helping to change the
efficiency of the banking sector to tune itself ahead of the curve, he mentions.
