Read more WORKING ACROSS THE UN The UN development system consists of many specialized agencies. Each has unique capacities, expertise, and networks. PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS FOR SDGS We work closely with our Private Sector Advisory Group. Our focus on partnerships through the UN is opening new opportunities for the public and private sectors to co-design, co-invest and co-implement programmes on the ground. Read more BRINGING BUSINESS ON BOARD In order to achieve the SDGs by 2030, the private sector must be fully on board. Private companies bring creativity, resources and innovation. PROGRAMME COUNTRIES PROVIDE 25% OF THE RESOURCES All our joint programmes are aligned with national priorities, as agreed by the UN and each national government in the UN Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF). Most country programmes contribute their own resources. Read more THE BEST STRATEGY Governments at municipal, regional and national levels assume ownership more readily when initiatives are built using their vision, strategy, and framework. BREAKING SILOS Joint programmes provide multi-faceted, integrated, and holistic approaches that contribute to achieving several SDGs simultaneously. Read more CONNECTING THE DOTS The 2030 Agenda is a multidimensional roadmap. It takes into account connecting factors, such as that lack of income negatively affects one’s health, education and livelihood. MORE THAN 20 DONORS National partners match 56% of our programme resources, increasing impact, ownership, relevance and sustainability. Every dollar invested in the SDG Fund has generated 2.36 dollars in the programme budget. Read more CATALYZING INVESTMENTS Our matching funds system requires that every financial contribution made through the SDG Fund be matched, at least one-to-one, by the joint programme partners. CREATIVE GLOBAL LEADERS Renowned artists, chefs, musicians and architects are among those leading the way in SDG implementation with creative new approaches to sustainable development. Read more THE CREATIVE ECONOMY The creative industries are not only among the fastest growing sectors of the world economy, but are transformative in terms of income generation, job creation and export earnings. A DUAL STRATEGY We take two approaches towards the goal of gender equality: mainstreaming gender in all SDG Fund programmes and empowering women with targeted programmes.
