You've been phished! But don't worry this was an approved phishing exercise sent by UHS to help you learn how to identify and avoid phishing attacks. Phishing can lead to security breaches that expose sensitive information to hackers. To reinforce how to spot malicious links, you will be auto-enrolled in a short training course (2 minute video) that will help you identify suspicious emails and whether URLs in an email message are potentially malicious. Shortly, you'll receive an email from the UHS Corporate Information Security Office with a link to the training which must be completed within the next 14 days. In the meantime, here are some key indicators to watch out for: 1. Check the From email address. Be immediately suspicious if the address does not match the sender (Microsoft, Zoom, etc.). Also, if you recognize the display name, be sure to validate the email address. Attackers will often times spoof the sender to make the email appear as if it is coming from someone you know. 2. Check each link by hovering over it to see its true source. If the URL is unfamiliar or differs from what you expected to see, don't click it! 3. Verify claims and offers via a trusted website, contact or known phone number. Do not respond to emails that create a sense of urgency without first verifying the authenticity. 4. Be immediately suspicious if the message tries to scare you, offers an incredible deal, or prompts you to reset a password or update account information. Also, be cautious if the email contains misspelled words or contains bad grammar. If an email looks suspicious, use the Report Spam Phish Alarm button or the Report Suspicious link embedded into the external email warning tag banner to report the message before opening any attachments or clicking on links in the message. 1.
