PROPOSED LAW WOULD BAN THE CONTROVERSIAL PRACTICE OF ISOLATION AS PUNISHMENT IN
WASHINGTON SCHOOLS

A group of lawmakers and activists are pushing for a bill that would outlaw all
student isolation in public schools by the year 2026. The bill in question would
still allow for supervised physical restraint if the situation is immediately
dangerous and a school staffer has no alternative options to fix the situation.
