We have an opening in our Accounting and Finance department for an Senior
Accountant. We are passionate about the environment while delivering life

This is a hybrid work opportunity, meaning that employees are eligible to work
remotely for part of the work week, dependent on job function and business
needs.
Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for delivering excellent service to our
customers and shareholders by performing a wide variety of tasks associated with
the completion and maintenance of the Company's financial systems and reports.
The Senior Accountant will assist in the preparation of balance sheets and
income statement analysis for senior management.

The Senior Accountant performs a variety of duties. Tasks include but are not
limited to the following:

Assists in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books and the
reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, corrections, and journal entries.

 * Prepares a variety of financial reports, including annual reports, the Public
   Utilities Regulatory Authority, and various other agencies.
 * Assists in the preparation of the quarterly variance and account analysis
   reports for external audit firm.
 * Assists in the preparation of the External Auditor & Sarbanes-Oxley work
   papers concerning quarter and year-end information. Provides support for
   ongoing audit and SOX requirements.
 * Assists in the implementation of software upgrades as needed or as requested
   by Management, such as general ledger (JD Edwards) or property accounting
   (PowerPlan) software.
 * Prepares and reviews journal entries, which may include maintenance of
   certain recurring entries, indexed computation entries, and compilation of
   utility/regulatory accounting entries.
 * On a monthly basis process overheads and AFUDC in PowerPlan. Calculate the
   annual overhead rates and adjust accordingly based on analysis reports.
 * Support treasury, budget and rate case processes

Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

Minimum Qualification

 * Bachelor Degree in Accounting required
 * Master’s Degree in Business Administration a plus
 * CPA certification is a plus
 * Must have Accounting Principles including SEC regulations and utility
   accounting
 * Must have great communication skills
 * Must have General Office Software skillset
 * Must have strong analytical analysis and problem solving
 * Experience in Accounting software (JD Edwards and PowerPlant) a plus
 * Must be able to maintain effective relationships
 * Experience in Utility Accounting preferred
 * Must have strong skillset in establishing facts, drawing valid conclusion,
   and communicating recommendations
 * 3 or more years’ experience required
