through the process to take and answer any questions you may have. The family
should then obtain the Certificate of Cause of Death (CCOD) from the doctor and

WHAT SERVICES DOES A FUNERAL PROVIDER OFFER?

Funeral providers can offer a wide range of services from renting facilities for
the funeral ceremony and managing the family’s paperwork for burial or cremation
plans, to arranging for vehicles for the burial or cremation. They can also
offer a directory of funeral directors, advisors and undertakers in Singapore,

SHOULD I HOLD THE WAKE AT A MEMORIAL HALL OR AT OUR HDB VOID DECK?

There are a few factors to consider when deciding whether to hold the wake at a
memorial hall or void deck. One of which would be your family’s personal
preference. Below are also a few factors you can consider when making the
decision:

Pros of Memorial Hall:

 * The keys to the memorial hall will be handed over to the family for the
   duration of the wake. Family members have the choice to lock up the unit and
   head home to rest for the night instead of keeping guard at the funeral wake
   overnight
 * Our memorial halls are located in Central Singapore, and might thus be more
   convenient for family and friends visiting the wake
 * The preferred option for those staying at condominiums as some condos do not
   allow funeral wakes to be held.
 * Some families staying in private houses may prefer the option of a memorial
   hall as they do not wish to set up a tentage in their homes or to protect the
   privacy of their house.

Pros of Void Deck:

 * Relatively cheaper than renting a memorial hall.
 * Convenient for family members who live nearby or at the HDB block.
 * Easier for neighbours or friends of the departed loved one to visit.

HOW MUCH DOES A FUNERAL TYPICALLY COST IN SINGAPORE?

The cost largely depends on the type of funeral chosen (Buddhist, Christian,
non-religious etc) as well as the complexity of the funeral. At Casket

It’s been a month since our mum passed on. We had more or less settled all the
estate matters.Looking back, we were glad that we had chosen Casket FairPrice
and Roger was there to hold our hands during those dedicated moments. Roger is
very experienced, professional, responsive and responsible.He came down to the
hospital within an hour and walked us through patiently the different packages
and procedures so that we could made informed decisions (eg which parlour, type
of coffin etc) and gave our mum a dignified send-off.The mortuary cosmetologist
was amazing. My mum had never looked so beautiful on earth.Roger was very clear
with his instructions so that we would not miss a beat. He coordinated directly
with our church pastor on the services. He went the extra mile of printing the
song sheets because church was closed during CNY. We didn’t have musicians so
pastor played the songs through her phone. Roger took the initiative to project
the music through a microphone without hesitation so that everyone got to
participate in the worship.From collecting our mum’s body from the mortuary,
reserving the parlour, making wake/funeral services to cremation and making
arrangements to scatter our mum’s ashes at Garden of Peace, nothing fell through
the cracks under Roger’s watchful eyes and unwavering commitment.We are very

My family engaged Casket Fairprice based on good feedback, as they similarly
handled the funeral of a relative.Ming Liang was highly professional and
responsive. He arrived very promptly at the hospital and settled everything from
then on. He was very knowledgeable and meticulous in guiding every step of the
way. This helped to put our minds at ease.My relatives were also full of praises
for Ming Liang, as he handled all the arrangements very well. In particular, on
the day of the funeral, it started pouring on the way to Mandai. Ming Liang
braved the rain to remove the photo from the front of the hearse and protected
it while running back to the vehicle.Thanks very much, Ming Liang and team!

casket team and Roger while I was finding undertakers for the wake as it was my

My family & I will like to express our heartfelt gratitude to casketfairprice
especially Ming Liang who had attended to us. My mum passed on around 5am at
renci@novena & Ming Liang mentioned he will reach around 1hr but caught my
family & nurses by surprise by reaching in 30min time (lightning speed). He is a
very professional & brief us with lots of patience & plan our mum's wake/funeral
according to our belief & need without hardselling any of their package. The
whole process he let my whole family feel at ease as he will guide us throughout
slowly for the 4days. Whenever I ask about when should I make payment, he will
keep telling me we should focus on the wake/funeral & don't worry too much about
the payment as it can be settle after the whole funeral ceremony end. Whenever
we are in doubt in any procedure etc, he will answer to our queries with much
patience. During funeral day, he even took the initiative to help us take some
pics & video clip with his hp without being told to do so.Kudos to his
extraordinary service. Thanks Ming Liang once again 👍

31 Jan 2024 to 4 Feb 2024Buddhist Rites - Void DeckChose Casket FairPrice based
on the pictures I saw on their website as well as the ratings. Vivien was the
24-hr help line that answered all my queries days before my moms passing re: all
the Buddhist rites and rituals that needs to be observed as my mom is a nun. Her
suggestion to provide mom with 8hrs audio-prayers in a holding room and letting
her rest immediately upon collection from hospital was what made my decision to
go with Casket FairPrice. Vivien and Wee are very knowledgeable of the Buddhist
rites and process flows. Any service we did not require they docked off the
final bill for us, any minor detail change is informed to us promptly. We also
had catering of vegetarian food every night and had good reviews, the menu
changes everyday. Set up was prompt and they allowed us minor tweaks Eg: more
white less yellow, white flowers only etc. We appreciated that a big portion of
the wake venue was covered at one side at the void deck which provided much
privacy in such a communal area. Wee and team is prompt and on hand to help with
everything daily, 24-7. Including after the event where I had some questions re:
my mom’s ash / bones.MESSAGE TO WEE: thanks for your speedy arrival at hospital
you were there from the moment my mom passed till the day we sent her off. My
family is very grateful for all yr help during this tough period, really helps
to lighten the stress for our family as u all dealt w all the big and small
matters w such professionalism and detail 🙏🏻🙏🏻 also the night watch guys,
they helped us clean up and top up stuff n keep vigil every night. Just
exceptional and outstanding service delivery.
