WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER PUSHES PROCESS LOCALSERVICEANDNOIMPERSONATION FOR SERVICE
FDRESPUB TO CONSUME 90%-100% CPU USAGE!
Start Windows Media player and process
svchost.exe->LocalServiceAndNoImpersonation for service FDResPub start to
consume 90%-100% CPU Usage consistently!!! I am using Windows 7 premium 64bit.
My pc is protected by Microsoft Security Essentials and I ran it again and
again, no virus or malware found. Any idea how to fix it? Or is it a Windows 7
bug ?

FDResPub is the Function Discovery Resource Publication Service . Disable
function discovery in Network Center.

Andre,
Disable discovery in Network Center is not a solution. It was working fine until
recently. If the issue is with discovery network, then Microsoft should issue a
fix or send a message to Windows 7 users asking to disable the service until
further notice. The service is there for a reason, isn't it? If with every issue
the only solution would be for one to either disable a service or kill a program
instead of finding the cause of the problem and solve it, then what the use of
having an OS with all these features???

vTheory, is it possible that a bluetooth device set up not properly could be the
cause? I have the same error, yet luckily 4 cpu cores. I still get about 30-35%
cpu usage, therefore one cpu is constantly used. Same Windows version, 64 Bit.

I can confirm this strange behaviour: on my W8 pc, if WinMediaPlayer is on, cpu
run100%.
Btooth off do not change this, but with WMP media sharing deactivated cpu runs
normal !!!
how can I maintain sharing on, avoiding this cpu overload???
