LIC IPO DAY 3: TOTAL ISSUE SUBSCRIBED 1.31 TIMES SO FAR
The country's biggest ever IPO by LIC received a strong response since its
opening, and has been subscribed 1.31 times so far on the third day of
bidding.

LIC opened its Rs 21,000 crore initial public offering today. On May 02, the
anchor investor portion of LIC IPO was oversubscribed due to strong demand.

RETAIL INVESTORS LIKELY TO CARRY LIC IPO TILL THE FINISHING POINT
About 6.48 crore policyholders have linked their PAN number with the policy
details up to the cut-off date. LIC is offering over 27 crore LIC
policyholders shares at 10 per cent discount to the offer price, which if
lapped up may see a deepening of the equity culture in India.

WILL A LOW PRICED LIC IPO DO AN IRCTC IN VALUATION JUMP?
The government has valued the insurer at 1.11 times its embedded value while
the domestic insurance players HDFC Life Insurance and SBI Life Insurance are

ICICI Prudential Life is at 2.5 times.

As per the information available on BSE website, Life Insurance Company (LIC)
IPO price band has been fixed at ₹902 to ₹949 per equity share. Opening date

LIC IPO IS JUST THE BEGINNING, SAYS DIPAM SECY
"Even after reduced size, LIC will be largest IPO. It is right sized, and we
expect significant retail participation, which is in line with our long-term
strategic vision," said Tuhin Kanta Pandey, DIPAM Secretary, adding that the
IPO is just the beginning. Investors can bid for shares in a lot size of 15
shares, and multiples thereof. There is an employee reservation of 1.58 crore
shares while 2.21 crore shares are reserved for policyholders.

The Life Insurance Corporation of India on Sunday evening filed its draft
prospects with SEBI, where it was mentioned that the government will offload
5%. Nilesh Sathe, in September 2021, itself had predicted this, which ETBFSI

LIC'S CUSTOMER STICKINESS IS LOWER THAN ITS PRIVATE PEERS
LIC’s persistency ratio for individual products (by total premium) in India
was 79.0% in the 13th month and 59.0% in the 61st month, compared to the
median of the top five private players in India of 87.1% in the 13th month
and 54.4% in the 61st month. Persistency ratio is the ratio of life insurance
policies receiving timely premiums in the year and the number of net active
policies. The ratio indicates how many policyholders are paying the due
premiums regularly on the policies with the insurer.

Experts believe that the appetite for LIC IPO will be high from new investors
as well, given its brand value. However, in the long-term, the end demand
will depend on its future growth, profitability, and sustenance of market
