MANWAH EXPANDS MANUFACTURING TO MEXICO

MONTERREY, Mexico — Manwah Holdings Ltd., a leading motion upholstery resource,
is expanding its manufacturing to North America with plans for a
2.5-million-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility, the first phase of which is
expected to be completed by early summer of this year.

Construction on phase one, which comprises 1million square feet of manufacturing
will begin immediately with motion upholstery production and product shipment
out of the facility expected by mid-summer. The company plans for a second phase
to be completed in early 2023.



Manwah’s Mexico plant production will be focused entirely on the North American
market and include the same level of vertical integration that has become the
Manwah standard around the world. This includes such capabilities as a
foam-pouring plant, mechanism plant, motor plant, kit-build area and cut-and-sew
production.

This facility is in addition to the company’s more than 6 million square feet of
manufacturing space in Vietnam as well as the dedicated one million square feet
of manufacturing in China.



“With the continuing growth of product demands from our customers, this major
production expansion will ensure our ability to deliver on promises while
expanding our product availability, helping our retail customers refresh their
floors,” said Gabriele Natale, president of Manwah USA.

By the summer of 2022, the company plans to produce up to 1,500 containers per
month at the Mexico facility and will be hiring up to 4,000 workers in the
initial phase. At the end of phase one, construction will start on a second
phase, an additional 1.5 million square feet, bringing the monthly production
capacity in Mexico to 3,500 containers by early 2023.



Long-time Manwah executive Bill Chan will head up Manwah Mexico and will oversee
plant construction as well as manage all production out of the new facility.
Responsibility for sales and marketing of Manwah Mexico production will be under
Natale.

“Having built and run other Manwah factories producing motion upholstery gives
me the confidence to get this facility up and running quickly. I understand the
commitment to the Manwah quality assurance and will ensure that Manwah Mexico
meets these standards,” said Chan.

In the past four years, Manwah has built nearly 4 million square feet of
manufacturing capacity to meet the changing global supply situation. At a time
when container pricing has put pressure on manufacturers across the globe the
addition of North American manufacturing capacity is aimed at strengthening the
company’s ability to meet unprecedented U.S. demand. This newest facility, to be
built on 80 acres in the Sierra Huafu North America Industrial Park in
Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, will enable the company to mitigate some global
freight issues and shorten lead times.

“The investment Manwah Holdings is making in this new facility will provide the
additional capacity needed today and in the future,” said Natale. “This major
investment in more production is a clear indication of the Manwah commitment to
the North American market while also reinforcing that we are the world’s largest
motion sofa manufacturer.”

Zoe Wong, executive director of Manwah Holdings, said, “Manwah Mexico is part of
the overall plan to expand Manwah Holdings global manufacturing’s footprint.
While today we are excited to expand our manufacturing base into Mexico, Manwah
will continue to explore additional opportunities in other areas as well.”
