   Architecture Awards
   
   Professor Paul Walker from the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning
   has received the Bates Smart National Award for Architecture in Media at the
   2024 Victorian Architecture Awards for his book John Andrews: Architect of
   Uncommon Sense.

   Associate Professor Andrew Saniga, Professor Philip Goad and Associate

   at the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) 2024 Vic State

   Making merry: how we brought Melbourne’s Merri Creek back from pollution,
   neglect and weeds
   
   I met with a friend for a walk beside Merri Creek, in inner Melbourne. She
   had lived in the area for a few years, and as we walked beside the creek,
   past trees, native grasses, a small wetland echoing with frog calls, I talked
   about how it had looked before we started the site’s restoration around 25
   years ago.

BEL+T

The Built Environments Learning + Teaching (BEL+T) group is unique in Australia,
and a rarity in the world. BEL+T works with academics and students to research
and support excellent built environments education. We focus on the
opportunities that are opened for graduates, and for our built environments, by
great learning experiences. BEL+T applies creative problem-solving and
design-led approaches, evidence-based research methodologies, and
project-focused consultancy to improve teaching quality and student engagement.
