Product Description

The 180W Classic Infrared Heating Panel is a brilliant way to heat your home,
and to make some savings on your heating bills, too. It’s on the small side,
which means it’s perfect for hiding out the way, such as underneath a desk, or
even in your bathroom. It measures just 600mm x 300mm, and it’s just 22mm deep,
meaning it sits almost flush to the wall!

The panel is made from FIR Coating, which can reach temperatures of around
115˚C, but it can of course be installed out of reach. It’s IP54 rated, which
means it can handle splashes of water comfortably, so it’s easy to clean with a
damp cloth.

Please note that the advised heated areas are for guidance only. For a more
accurate heated area that is more relevant to your home, please either use our
Calculator located at the top of this page, or speak to one of our Customer
Services advisors about your room.

If you wish to ceiling mount your IR Panel, you will need to purchase a
Suspension Kit alongside it. We advise leaving a gap of at least 5cm between the
ceiling and panel once installed in order to ensure adequate airflow behind the
heater.

This panel will come with a clear film on its front that needs to be peeled off
before first use. If you use the heater before peeling the film off, the film
may discolour and melt onto the surface of the heater.

Please note that quoted heating area is based on optimum conditions.

BENEFITS OF INFRARED

Infrared heating works by firing infrared beams around your room, which heat up
the objects they bounce off of. These beams are completely safe, as they are the
same that your TV remote control probably uses. It’s also the same as the sun’s
heat, although without any harmful UV rays.

There won’t be any stuffiness, as this heats objects not air, so there’s no cold
spots or dust circulation. This can massively benefit your health, as there’s no
dust circulation or cold spots, so there’s no mould or mildew in your room,
either.

This 180W panel is great for heating small spaces, as it’s capable of heating a
3m2 space. Compared to central heating, infrared heating is a no-brainer really,
as it can save you a whopping 60% on your heating bills!

FIR COATING FOR MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY & SAFETY

Our infrared panels come with a brand new, highly advanced premium FIR Coating
to help maximise the performance of your heater. It’s heat-resistant – meaning
it can withstand temperatures up to 200oC without yellowing over time.

Not only that, but it will also help the carbon crystal heating element inside
the panel distribute the IR waves better than ever before, thanks to a higher
thermal efficiency, resulting in even more warmth in your home.

To top it all off, the coating is also far more secure than ever before, as it
is fire resistant, ensuring your family and your home stay safe and warm.

DISCREET HEATING

The clean white finish is absolutely perfect to hide your heater in plain sight.
In a kitchen or bathroom, you can add a little extra heat without having to
resort to a clunky radiator, or an inefficient portable heater.

As it’s just 22mm in depth, you can easily pop it on the wall without it
sticking out. With its small size, you can also hide it under a desk, or even
use it in a downstairs cloakroom, for example, where space is a little tight.

Don’t forget, they can also be mounted on the ceiling, too, as they heat the
objects and not the air, so there’s no rising hot air – just clean heat warming
up the objects below.

THE CONVENIENCE OF AN LED INDICATOR

Depending on how you use your panel, sometimes it may be handy to know when it
is actually on.

You can of course plug it in, hard wire it, or use a thermostat to give you a
better level of control.

However you choose to, we’ve integrated a blue LED in the corner, and the way it
works is simple.

When the panel is on and emitting infrared heat around your room, the light will
glow blue. When the panel switches off, so too will the LED light. This gives
you the chance to see, at a glance, whether your heating panel is on or not!

INSTALLATION

The panels are so easy to install, too. There’s no complicated wiring or
plumbing, as you can just take advantage of plugging it directly into the mains.

Plus, they’re simple to mount on your wall or ceiling.

They have brackets attached to the back of them already, so all you need is a
couple of screws in your wall for them to hang on.

There’s a guide included, too. Just draw through the stencil provided, get the
screws in the wall or ceiling, and mount your panel.

You’ll be up and running in minutes, and you can do it all yourself with ease.
No plumbers, electricians, or handymen/women – just quick, efficient heat.

PREMIUM BUILD

With a brilliant glossy white surface, it’s simple to just wipe clean with a
damp cloth.

It’s sturdy too, and looks fantastic on your wall with its clean FIR Coating
front.

The frame around the edge is tough white aluminium, so you know that the clean
finish is continued.

On the back of the panel is a standard 240v junction box, with a generous 2
metres of heavy-duty flex and the standard UK 3-pin plug.

Don’t forget, if you wish to make your heater portable, you could always
purchase one of our stylish infrared panel stands for a freestanding heating
solution.

PURCHASE PROTECTION

All of our white infrared heating panels come with a brilliant 14-day home trial
period, so if you change your mind, you can either return or exchange it.

Mirrorstone also give you an incredible 2-year warranty, so there’s no need to
worry about purchase protection. The warranty is extendable to 5 years at no
extra charge.

     Desk Heater
The heater goes under a desk and certainly warms the legs and feet at a
range of over 30cms as suggested in the brochure. A good little heater and
importantly economic to use. Have now used for several weeks and remain
     impressed.

Cozy winter nights for our working dogs
Hi, I purchased two panels this one, 180w and a 350w NXGEN, this 180w is
excellent for my working dogs kennel bed area.
Above the sleeping area, out of harms way this small but very effective IR
panel warms the dogs and their bedding though the resent cold nights. I
have the panel linked to a timer at the moment but considering an upgrade
     to thermostat.
The 350w NXGEN panel I have tested for my downstairs loo which has a door
both into the house and out to the yard. This loo is being updated and I
plan to put the onto the ceiling. I would had a mirrowed panel if it had
NXGEN controls... Great panels so far...

QUESTION

Is it safe and legal to install this heater in a wet room style shower room
which is unvented except for a small ceiling mounted extractor fan. The whole
room gets filled with steam from the shower

Posted By: Peter White   2023-04-24 09:59:39

ANSWER

Hi Peter! All our IR Panels come with a minimum IP44 rating, so they're all
pretty much splash proof. They should be fine to install in your wet room, just
ensure that the heater is not placed directly near any wet zones (like directly
above your shower area for example), and that you use a fused spur plug. There
are no legal issues with such an installation - many of our clients fit our
heaters in their bathrooms too!

Can you say exactly where the brackets on the back are, to the cm? I'm wondering

go, from the top of the panel.

QUESTION

Can you say exactly where the brackets on the back are, to the cm? I'm wondering

go, from the top of the panel.

Posted By: Ashley   2023-01-25 07:01:19

ANSWER

Hi Ashley! Sure, the holes for the brackets need to be positioned 310mm x 80mm
(or 31cm x 8cm). This should equate to around 11cm from the top of the panel.

Hi. One of your photos shows an under desk installation. How do you prevent the

Posted By: Amy   2022-08-09 10:51:17

ANSWER

Hi Amy! As long as you leave a minimum of a 20cm clearance around the edge of
the panel, it's absolutely fine to mount underneath a wooden desk, and won't
become a fire hazard. The same applies to mounting it under a breakfast bar or
dining table. Hope this helps Amy, and please do let us know if you need
anything else!

QUESTION

Can you place inside a radiator cover to hid it from view. i.e. Use behind an
open MDF grill 120mm deep ?

Posted By: Michael Kitchingman   2022-01-06 16:20:21

ANSWER

Hi Michael! Due to the nature by which infrared works, we would strongly advise
against covering the panel. In order for infrared panels to work at their best,
efficiently and safely, we recommend leaving a minimum clearance of 200mm around
the panel, and 1000mm in front of the panel. For more information, please feel
free to get in touch with our customer services team on 0116 321 4124.

thickness? Thanks.

Posted By: Martyn Willis   2020-11-27 16:33:35

Hi Martyn! The 22mm thickness is just the thickness of the panel, though the
brackets only protrude by a further few mm. Please do let us know if you need
anything else!

QUESTION

Are the panel heaters suitable for installation in a covered out door area 6
metres by 6 metres snd would one suffice ( pub beer garden )

Posted By: Serena Hurst   2020-11-16 12:42:09

ANSWER

Hi Serena! For any outdoor area, we would strongly recommend opting for one of
our IR Bar Heaters instead. The Aurora range for example utilises near infrared,
and produces a very intense heat that's perfect for outdoor use. For an area
that size, we would recommend perhaps two bar heaters, with one at either end,
however, our customer services team on 0116 321 4124 will be able to provide you
with a more detailed recommendation!

QUESTION

Posted By: Mihaela Onea   2020-03-01 17:48:14

ANSWER

The NON printed panels will have the lowest VOC emission rate, in the case of
the print panels it might be slightly higher due to the ink used to print. Our
returns policy highlights the instances where we would cover the postage. Please
see the link below: https://www.suryaheating.co.uk/returns-policy/

have used a dehumidifier to dry the wall and want additional heat as it is a
cold spot.

Posted By: Esther Jayne Thomas   2020-03-01 13:27:55

ANSWER

We would advise roughly 1.5m off the ground and 50cm to 60cm from the ceiling if
you are wall mounting. I would advise against putting an obstruction in front of
the unit i.e. a chair in this case. If you need to eliminate cold spots you need
to provide a good heat distribution. Please see the link below:

Just a few questions as I’m going to order 3 panels. They are for 3 sections of
my pigeon loft. Firstly each section has a wall with 12 Nestboxes covering the
whole wall which is 2m x 2m. Each box will have a pigeon perching on the front
of them. I want to keep the section at 16 degrees during the week but increase
to 18 degrees thurs and Friday. Will a panel achieve this. Also I intend
mounting each panel at an angle pointing downwards to say the centre of the 12
boxes. Will the ir rays give equal heat to all boxes or will it project the rays
to the same area as the size of the panel and be cooler towards the outside
boxes. I’ll use a room thermostat to regulate the temp of each section

Posted By: Geoff Blackhall   2020-02-10 12:38:39

ANSWER

Hi Geoff! The ability to control the temperature will depend entirely on the
thermostat that you use with the panels. If you use the Salus Digital Thermostat
in our Thermostats category, you'll be able to set individual temperatures for
each day of the week, which will let you keep your pigeons at 16 degrees, and
then 18 degrees on Thursday and Friday. As for the spread of heat, it will
depend on the size of your area - smaller areas will have a good spread of heat,
but in larger areas you'll have to make more of an effort to spread your panels
out. Given that your whole wall is 2m x 2m, I don't think you'll have this
problem, but it would be good practice to distribute the 3 panels evenly anyway.
Hope this helps Geoff! Please don't hesitate to get in touch with us if you need
anything else!

QUESTION

Is there an on/off switch on this unit?

Posted By: Dav   2020-01-18 17:44:26

ANSWER

Hi Dav, thanks for your question! These panels are plug-and-play, meaning they
come on when plugged into the mains. There is no on/off switched needed for this
panel. If you do need some kind of control on the heater, it is compatible with
most electric heating thermostats. I hope this helps!

QUESTION

just wanting to double check Thanks

Posted By: Ross Davidson   2019-12-23 21:52:33

ANSWER

Hi Ross! Yes the 180W IR Panel can be ceiling mounted, however a suspension kit
is required for ceiling installations, and our suspension kits aren't compatible
with the 180W panels unfortunately! As a result, the suspension kit is something
that you would have to source from another supplier. We do apologise about this,
do let us know if you need anything else!

Posted By: Iain Morrison   2019-11-15 10:34:53

ANSWER

Hi there Iain! When mounting the panel, please ensure that you leave a 50mm gap
between the wall and the panel, and the same rule applies for the ceiling. There
is a 3-4% heat loss from the back of the panel, however, this should not affect
the plastic cladding. If you have any other questions, feel free to get in touch

ANSWER

Hi Rachel, All of our Infrared Panels can be wall or ceiling mounted- though for
ceiling installations we strongly recommend using the Suspension Kit, and
suspending the panel approximately 10-20cm from the ceiling. The power cable
measures 2m and all of our panels are IP54 rated, meaning they’re protected
against splashes of water. I hope this helps.

Hi Sharon! Our IR Panels are great for drying damp clothes, though depending on
the size of your porch you may need the 350W Panel. I'd advise speaking to one
of our sales advisors on 0116 321 4124, as they will be able to calculate the
wattage you need depending on the size of your room. Do let us know if you need

Hi we have a bathroom which is cold, all the time due to having 3 external

As we have no power socket in the bathroom (the towel rail is plugged in to a

goes into the socket itself rather than a plug - hope that helps) if we do
decide to purchase how do we connect it to mains?

Posted By: Bronwyn Shaw   2019-01-11 01:28:49

ANSWER

Hi Bronwyn! Well to start with, our IR Panels are definitely more efficient that
fan heaters, so I believe you'll save money by switching! Most people save in
the region of 60% on their heating by switching from electric convection to
electric IR. By the sounds of things, your current heater is connected through
what's known as a fused spur socket - they are highly common in bathrooms and
kitchens as they are safer around water basically. If you wanted to switch to
Infrared, you'd probably need to get an electrician to hard wire the heater in
for you, it should be a simple job for them. Hope this helps Bronwyn, let us
know if you need anything else!

UK 3-pin plugs as standard, however these can be cut off and hardwired instead.

ANSWER

Hi Simone, All of our Infrared Panels come with everything you need to mount
them on either the ceiling or wall. Whilst some heat does project out of the
back, it's no more than 10% and shouldn't cause an issue. Hope this helps!

Hi, I am looking at getting 3 of these for a dog kennel I am building for
someone which I think will work well, the roof is far lower than your normal
room 1.8m but I am wondering if I got the thermostat sockets would they work as
IR heating is not really known for heating the surrounding air and last thing I
would want is dogs overheating from them even though I'm planning on the lowest
powered version

ANSWER

Hi Neal! The thermostat sockets should work just fine - the panels will have a
small impact on air temperature, but obviously less so than conventional
heaters. For this reason they should work fine in the dog kennels. If you need

Can your standard white infra-red radiator be covered with a stick on vinyl

picture of our choice? Is there any restriction to the type of material the

Posted By: Mark Rayden   2018-04-21 11:29:16

ANSWER

Hi Mark! We wouldn't recommend using stick on vinyl on the Classic IR Panel
Range as the surface does get quite hot, so there could be damage to both the
surface and the vinyl. As well as that, it may not be completely safe to do so
either. If you were to do that it would at the very least need to be heat proof,
though do be warned this could also potentially void the warranty as well. We
would recommend opting for a Custom Image IR Panel instead. Do let us know if
there is anything else you need!

Hi! I'd like to use this in a campervan conversion I am doing. What power usage
does it draw? I guess I would have to run this off my 230v system through an
inverter, do you know the Watt hours it uses? Also, does it come with a remote
thermostat to control? If not, is there another version that does? Thanks

ANSWER

Hi James! This IR Panel uses 200W, which equates to 0.2 kilowatt hours. It
doesn't come with a remote control, however you can pair it up with our Salus RF
Digital Programmable Thermostat, which does come with a controller. Hope that
helps, let us know if you need anything else!

Are the heaters turned on and off by remote control.......?

QUESTION

Are the heaters turned on and off by remote control.......?

Posted By: Jeff   2018-01-28 11:32:50

ANSWER

Hi Jeff! The classic IR Heating panels don't come with a remote control. They
work perfectly with thermostats that give you remote control. We are also
expecting a new batch of heaters in the near future that have integrated
thermostats and remotes as standard (around end of March 2018), so this is also
an option for you. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Hi Jeff! Sounds like the best solution for you would be to hard wire the heater
rather than plugging it straight into a wall socket. This would also be a very
safe option too. Let us know if there is anything else you need!

ANSWER

Hi Jeff! You'll be able to switch the heater on or off at the wall.
Alternatively, using a thermostat will allow you to switch it on and off
remotely. Otherwise they're perfectly safe to use in a bathroom thanks to IP44
protection. Let us know if there's anything else you need!
