Great days at the Innovation Roundtable® Workshop hosted by Eni S.p.A. and ROAD
- Rome Advanced District! Mattia Voltaggio introduced the collaborative
initiative "ROAD - Rome Advanced District," Eni's entrepreneurship program and
startup accelerator in supporting sustainable enterprise growth through
acceleration and co-innovation programs. Laura D'Angelo shared Eni's success in
leveraging startup collaboration to seize opportunities. I was inspired by their
venture-building unit and her experiences in ramping up startup collaboration.
Edoardo Dellarole opened the R&D management practices at Eni, addressing topics
such as use cases of different approaches to R&D, collaboration practices, joint
agreements, co-development, examples, and lessons learned. There has been a
while since I last joined an Innovation Roundtable® event and I can see a shift
in the approach among innovation initiatives. The scouting and exploration are
made closer to the core and adjacent business areas and made to support business
units. Innovation units are tied to the strategy unit and to align that the
initiatives support the long-term ambition. Customers are expecting
sustainability, but speakers shared the learnings that customers are not willing
to pay for the additional cost it brings. Venture building might be the next big
thing when it comes to innovation in the energy sector. The event was a
fantastic opportunity to explore the power of partnerships and ecosystems in
driving innovation and sustainability. Thank you to Innovation Roundtable®, Eni
S.p.A. and ROAD - Rome Advanced District for hosting this insightful two-day
workshop lots of ideas and inspiration for building our #WISE ecosystem.

#Ecosystems. Great roundtable discussions around #building and #scaling new
businesses in Corporations, #leveraging startups for new businesses creation,
#orchestrating Ecosystems and Partners, bridging and #collaborating with
internal and external stakeholders. Many challenges are faced by Corporates in
managing disruptive innovation due to its nature, however the day confirmed -

Last week I spoke at Schaeffler on the importance of building product teams that
can drive innovation to promote sustainability. The overall theme focused
heavily on Circular Economy - reducing waste, reusing materials, and promoting
recycling and remanufacturing. Sustainable Supply Chain - ensuring suppliers
adhere to environmental and social standards and collaborating with suppliers to
improve sustainability practices - was also discussed as key. Thank you

How do foster innovation in our work? Are the new Leads equippied with the right
skills in the VUCA world? got a dose of fresh ideas from the market leads like
Spotify, Amazon, Schaeffler, Allianz and many others! Points to ponder: -
**Nurture a culture of experimentation**: Encourage teams to try new ideas with
a #licensetofail - **Leaders should be approachable, not only accessible** -
**Mastery, autonomy, and purpose** are crucial for fostering engagement and
satisfaction in the workplace a (and help to stay connected with the #purpose) -
**Old leadership styles don't work anymore**: Modern leadership demands #trust,
empathy, and openness -**Psychological safety** allows people to perform their
best. Feeling safe to take interpersonal risks, to speak up, to disagree openly,
to surface concerns without fear of negative repercussions or pressure to
sugarcoat bad news - in our complex work this is how we stay innovative
andresilient - **love and fear** are the drivers. What do we choose? - **allow
people to be provocative** : if everyone likes your “good” idea (and says
nothing), maybe idea is not that good.. PS: and I do love Bezos’s idea of no

Innovation, Berlin and Conferences This week my colleague Qianru Yuand I visited
one of the many conferences conducted by Innovation Roundtable® in Berlin. With
representatives from different companies joining the event, these two days were
packed with interesting conversations . Here are a few takeaways: AI has to
become very personnel. Lead Self, Lead Others and Lead Business. Use AI to bring
value, not just for the sake of using it. Small AI solutions will eventually
lead to greater strategic business value. BOLD people dare to make a difference.
I would like to thank all the speakers for their insights and my roundtable
colleagues for sharing their valuable experiences during our interactions.

Insights from the Amsterdam Innovation Workshop Last week, I had the privilege
of attending the Innovation Roundtable® workshop in Amsterdam, where we delved
into AI, foresight, and intrapreneurship. Here are some key takeaways that I’d
like to share with you: 1. Customer Value as Priority: When navigating the
innovation landscape, customer value should always be our North Star. Organize
your efforts around core customer benefits, creating horizontal workflows that
align with their needs. 2. System Mapping for Scalability: From the
outset, map out the entire system. Understand the intricate workflows and
interconnections. This holistic view allows us to build a scalable system that
supports business growth without draining resources. 3. Leadership and
Coaching: Effective innovation requires strong leadership. Coordinating
efforts is essential. Leaders must coach their teams, propelling progress. To
bridge the gap between corporate and startup mindsets, experienced mentors and
advisors play a crucial role. 4. Cadences and Progress Tracking: Regularity
is key. Establish cadences for reviews and progress updates. By tracking

Last week I had the opportunity to attend both sessions of Innovation
Roundtable®at the Heineken Experiencein Amsterdam! The days were packed with

The #1 takeaway I took from attending last week's Innovation Roundtable® ... Not
, not a single company has their digital transformation pipeline or Martech
strategies to a T Even those companies that look like they have. And that's OK!
WAKE-UP CALL - The one thing about innovation is that there's no one, single way
of doing it. What might work for them, might not work for you. Your organization
Your operations Your talent Your customers Your problems and challenges They're
all different... even to your nearest competitor. Focus on what really matters
to make a biggest difference to your customers... that's the big takeaway! Don't

This week I had the privilege of discussing Artificial Intelligence use cases
and adoption through #ABBAccelerator during the Innovation Roundtable® Workshop
at The HEINEKEN Company in Amsterdam. This event brought together a diverse
group of corporate professionals, creating a unique platform for collaborative

AI is here to stay. Why not embrace it as an ally rather than a threat in our
workplaces? Had the pleasure to participate in the Innovation Roundtable®event
buzzing with fresh perspectives on the future with AI. Here’s a snapshot of the
insights I gained: 1. Transformation: AI is about evolution, not revolution.
Think big, but start small, then scale fast. 2. Potential of GenAI: Generative
AI can be used for many purposes, not just for your basic text generation or
data analyses, it can be a powerhouse of creative solutions. 3. Impact on the
job market: At the end of the day, it's people who close deals, not computers.
AI is a tool, not a replacement. P.S. It was heartwarming to see 'Tikkie' ranked
by the audience among the top 5 AI tools at the event, standing proudly next to
giants like Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT. It seems AI really knows the shortcut
to the Dutch heart Each session was a reminder that the future is not just

Amsterdam´s Innovation Roundtable® at The HEINEKEN Company was a feast of
knowledge and inspiration. Sappi‘s CX Taskforce gained invaluable insights into
leveraging generative AI and foresighting for agile #innovation. Engaging with
thought leaders and innovators from HEINEKEN, Siemens, Holcim, Danone, Avery
Dennison Label and Packaging Materials, and more, we explored value-driven use
cases & tools, underscoring the imperative of experimentation. Truly inspired!
Some takeaways: GenAI as a catalyst for value: the accessible technology offers
high ROI opportunities to unlock value, particularly in Sales Operations &
Marketing (e.g. via hyperepersonalization) and can significantly reduce the idea
to scale-up leadtime. Essential Elements for Corporate Innovation Success:
Building for and with the users. Comprehensive empowerment, upskilling & access
to toolkits are crucial, along with adopting a scientific approach and
statistical relevance for value validation: correlation doesn´t imply causation.
Augmenting Innovation while remaining differentiated: GenAI can amplify open
innovation and foresighting. Differentiation possible through (creative) prompt
