CIDR IP ADDRESS RANGE EXPANSION FOR CLOUD MEDIA SERVICES

Genesys has purchased additional CIDR IP address ranges for use with Genesys
Cloud media services. These new addresses supplement existing regions and cover
future growth into new regions. In addition to a new CIDR IP address range for
generally available Core and Satellite regions, there is also a new CIDR IP
address range specifically for the FedRAMP region (US-East 2 (Ohio)).
* The new range of IP addresses for generally available Core and Satellite
regions is 169.150.104.0/21. (This new range builds on the current range at
52.129.96.0/20 that went into effect in April 2021.)
* The new range of IP addresses for the FedRAMP region is 164.152.64.0/22.
FAQS
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Genesys Cloud’s public-facing cloud media services are expanding Genesys’s pool
of public IP addresses. This expansion increases the existing CIDR range that
was put in place in April 2021. The new CIDR IP address range expansion allows
for:
* More growth within existing regions.
* The addition of CIDR for the Cape Town and Seoul satellite regions.
* The addition of CIDR for the FedRAMP region.
* The ability to provide CIDR for new regions opening in 2022/2023.
AM I AFFECTED?
Customers using firewall policies to restrict outbound connections from Genesys
Cloud clients, phones, and Edge devices may be affected. Network administrators
can view detailed information on affected services, address, and ports, and
perform the self-readiness checks provided in Cloud media services CIDR IP
address range.
WHAT IF I AM A FEDRAMP CUSTOMER?
Genesys is adding a separate, isolated CIDR IP address range for FedRAMP
customers. The FedRAMP CIDR IP address range is 164.152.64.0/22.
HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR THIS EXPANSION?
To prepare for this expansion, you must modify your firewall policy to allow
connections to the new range, in addition to the original Genesys CIDR range.
* FedRAMP customers must add 164.152.64.0/22.
* All other customers must add 169.150.104.0/21.
After you modify your firewall policy, you can use the self-assessment tools to
test your readiness. For more information, see the Readiness check section of
Cloud media services CIDR IP address range.
ARE THERE ANY NEW SERVICES THAT FALL UNDER THE GENESYS CIDR BLOCK?
Yes. Genesys is working on implementing a set of REST APIs to add to the list of
Genesys Cloud Services that benefit from the addition of the CIDR IP address
blocks. For more information, see the Genesys Cloud Services section of Cloud
