Over 5.5K Ranker voters have come together to rank this list of NBC's Greatest
Comedy Shows
Voting Rules
Vote up the best original comedies or sitcoms that have ever debuted on NBC.

The best NBC comedies of all time include classic sitcoms that captivated
television audiences for years. This list of the greatest NBC comedy TV shows is
a long one, because the network gave us so many of the most memorable comedy
series in television history. Which show is your favorite? Vote it up! And, if
you don't see your personal favorite NBC comedy listed, by all means, add it.

In the 1980s, NBC began to seriously dominate Thursday night programming with a
lineup that included some of these first-rate comedy TV shows, including Cheers,
Family Ties and A Different World. The "Must See TV" trend continued well into
the 1990s, with shows like Seinfeld, Frasier, Mad About You and Friends. NBC is
also responsible for modern cult classics like 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation,
and Community. Many of the best NBC comedies of all time are now available on
Peacock, NBC's streaming service.

This list of the best NBC comedies of all time features so many multiple Emmy
Awards nominees and winners, it's staggering really. But it's not just the big
name shows: Several great comedy programs on NBC didn't last long, but they made
a great impact on pop culture. Some of the best NBC sitcoms from the late 70s
and early 80s are also included, like Diff'rent Strokes and Sanford and Son. And
who could possibly forget Will Smith's The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? Fortunately,
many of these great comedies that originally aired on NBC will continue to live
on in syndication (probably forever).

This list aims to answer the question "What is the best NBC comedy of all time?"

Again, remember to vote up the NBC comedy shows you think are the best, and vote
down any that you just don't like.
