In the current era of digitization, the role of Information and Communications
Technology (ICT) is growing more important than ever. With the advancement and
innovation in modern technology, ICT has become the primary driving force in the
development and economic growth of countries as it determines the
competitiveness of institutions in the knowledge economy and ensures good
governance for transparency inculcating efficiency in the system.

National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) was established to harness the ICT
framework in the government sector and was given a mandate to facilitate Federal
Government, Provincial Governments, and all other State-run establishments. NTC
is the official Telecom/ICT service provider to government of Pakistan. We
provide cutting edge calling, broadband, Data Center services, webhosting, ISDN
and radio wireless networking facilities to the state offices and their
constituent units.

NTC has signed agreements with various operators to meet the current demands of
its cusotmer for Mobile Broadband. NTC customers can avail Broadband Service
with Multipile options like limited/unlimited offers with Dongle/Wifi/Myfi

registering and administrating پاکستان. domain name. NTC will provide پاکستان.
domain space, DNS parking service, registration and maintenance of پاکستان.
domain names. It will enable all Pakistan domains to register Domain names in
Pakistani local languages and it will provide a platform for local content
development in Pakistani languages.

Microsoft and NTC recently entered into a SPLA (Services Provider License
Agreement) to serve the Pakistani customer under Public Private Partnership
(PPP) as per Telecom Policy, 2015. With this agreement NTC can license Microsoft
products to host software services and applications for their customers on
monthly basis.

National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) and VMware International Limited
signed a VMware Cloud Provider Program (VCPP). NTC will have latest VMware
Products available for its own needs as well as for NTC customers. NTC is the
1st in APJ (Asia-Pacific & Japan) and 1 among 3 in the world for On-Prem
Airwatch Public Cloud Provider.

Message of The Managing Director - NTC

MR. MIRAJ GUL MANAGING DIRECTOR - NTC

I am leading an efficient team of professionals who are tasked to unleash the
potential of ICT to establish a comprehensive e-government platform which
empowers the state institutions to implement the principles and guidelines of
Quaid-e-Azam in letter and spirit making possible to work together for a bright
and prosperous Pakistan. Our relentless efforts resulted in Record Growth in
Exchanges @ 225%, Record Expansion to New Districts/ Cities @ 50%, Record ADP
completion @ Average 81% annually with 100% completion in FY 2016-17 & 2019-20,
Subscribers Growth @ 16% with Broadband Subscribers Growth @ 115%. Now NTC is
well aligned with emerging technological advancements by deploying Fiber Optic
Systems metro networks (1,395Km) and Long-Haul (4,300Km) with 462 exchanges
equipped with IP based Next Generation Network (NGN) technology at 99
Districts/Cities throughout Pakistan.

Our agreements with Microsoft and VMware empower us to become the First in Asia
Pacific and Japan Region among only three in the world for On-Perm Air Watch
Public Cloud provider. Establishment of (۔ پاکستان) IDN ccTLD for Urdu and local
language for promoting local language content is another effort of NTC’s
commitment to government’s vision. NTC has signed Public Private Partnerships
with all leading Telecos/Mobile operators to provide ICT services to NTC
customers all over Pakistan. These efforts are elements of NTC’s commitment to
achieve excellence in ICT to implement “Digital Pakistan” PM Vision for
Government of Pakistan.

Taking security and availability to the next level, NTC earmarked the roadmap to
certify the National Data Center and successfully completed the ISO 27001
certification along with the establishment of a Disaster Recovery Site. This
enables NTC to offer business continuity and availability of government data and
services in case of any unforeseen eventuality. NTC has also deployed Google
Cache Servers to provide fast Google Services to NTC end users and thereby
reducing the total bandwidth consumption and better response time.

The most precious outcome of all over efforts is the “Customer’s Satisfaction”.
According to the survey conducted by Ministry of IT & Telecom in year 2016-17,
72% customers of the NTC are fully satisfied by NTC services and only 14% are
dissatisfied.

We are working diligently and valiantly to ensure uninterrupted provision of ICT
services to our clients. Our network is expanding at a remarkable pace and we
are equipping ourselves with latest state of the art technologies and
proficiency to adapt to future trends in order to maintain a secure and reliable

Dark Fiber

Bandwidth bottlenecks can slow data traffic, sometimes at the last mile. This is
because most fiber optics networks do not extend all the way to the businesses
in need of service. NTC provides its own metro dark fiber service laterals in
Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Sargodha and that can deliver this last
mile to ensure fast connections. NTC telecom solutions will remove bandwidth as
an obstacle to your growth without major capital expenditures or maintenance
obligations. Now NTC lease its dark fiber pairs in the above mentioned cities.
Dark fiber pair lease will be point to point for which NTC shall be responsible
for maintenance of Dark Fiber.

Media (Junction)

A leased circuit is a dedicated link between two fixed locations for exclusive
use of the customer. NTC provides leased line services to other service
providers and corporate customers for interconnecting offices, mobile switches
and all telecom switching and distribution equipments all over Pakistan, a
leased circuit may be speech circuit, a data circuit or a telegraph circuit, the
terminating equipment at both ends is telephone without dialing facility both
way signaling and speech is possible. Leased line charges depend on distance or
type of circuit or bandwidth.

CO-LOCATION

SPACE (OPEN, COVERED), DISHES/ANTENNAS ON NTC TOWERS AND AC/DC POWER SUPPLY

NTC has its country wide Network of Microwave stations, exchanges and offices.
Now NTC proffer the facility of co-location (Space, Dishes/Antennas on NTC
towers, Power Supply) to Licenced Telecom Operatos to provide the facility for
rapid network expansion/ Growth. Our Co-Location service supports your expanding
network needs with a secure, redundant environment and provides dedicated space
for your equipment. We give you a gateway to the industry’s most robust local
and regional optical networks, allowing you to take advantage of the best
infrastructure having secure access, redundant power supplies, fire detection
systems and 24x7 support capabilities available.

SERVERS

NTC has established its core setup at three prime locations. More over portals
from various government, semi-government and private companies are also
co-located at NTC multiple data network nodes.

Distance charges are exclusive of General Sales Tax (GST). The GST shall be

The circuit length may be taken as per road mileage between the points connected
by the circuits i.e from end to end including (Local lead).
Charges will be pay able on monthly basis in advance. The bills will be payable
within 7 days from the date of issue. In case of default, 5% surcharge will be
levied. Non payment beyond 14 days shall warrant disconnection of the service.
Default beyond 30 days shall warrant disconnection of all services provided by
the NTC.
This does not include DSLAM/DXX Charges which will be charged as per DSLAM/DXX
tariff.
Leased line tariff will not be available for voice and for reselling.

Pandemic

HIGHLIGHTS

Managing Director NTC appreciated the resolute efforts of NTC staff for
providing uninterrupted 24/7 ICT Services to all Govt. Departments/offices under
difficult days of Corona pandemic.

MD NTC visited the field staff to observe and buck up their tireless efforts in
providing uninterrupted Data and Telecom services to most sensitive institutions
at this critical time especially hospitals, public service organizations and
govt offices throughout the country. It is also noteworthy that in the fight
against Corona pandemic the availability of SEHAT TAHAFFUZ HELPLINE 1166 to the
public has been further enhanced by NTC for the public ease.

NTC stands shoulder to shoulder with the Government of Pakistan in the fight
against Corona and will continue to discharge its legal obligations under this
difficult time. It is worth to mention that NTC is the only Government owned
Telecom/ICT Service provider responsible to provide these services to all Public
Departments throughout Pakistan.

Federal Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul
Haque on Monday witnessed the signing ceremony between NTC, Khazana Enterprise
and Computer Research Private Limited for Academic ERP (eDU SMARTZ).

“This agreement between two would effectively prove a solution for automating
the entire campus managing all operations related to educational setup as per
International Standards,” Minister IT & Telecom Syed Amin Ul Haque made these
remarks at a signing agreement between Khazana Enterprise and Computer Research
Private Limited for Academic ERP (eDU SMARTZ).

The signing ceremony, held at National Telecommunications Corporation (NTC)
Headquarters, was attended Managing Director NTC Miraj Gul, Khalid Shamsi CRPL
CEO, Sameer Shamsi CEO Ecreaterz pvt ltd, Ahsan Rasheed Khan Khazana Enterprises
and senior officials of NTC Headquarters.

According to the details, NTC, Khazana & CRPL have entered into this Digital
Services Solution Agreement under Public Private Partnership (PPP), where NTC
will provide the platform through its deployed Infrastructure and locally hosted
software / Application developed by CRPL. This would ensure integrity of the
data in a secured environment. This Academic ERP gives an unprecedented leverage
to the management in planning and administering the activities for the whole
academic year.

Acknowledging the NTC’s role, the minister congratulated NTC Management for
their efforts in the phenomenal development of ICT infrastructure for Public
Sector with State of the art technologies. “Indeed it is a matter of great pride
and honour for NTC under the umbrella of Ministry of IT and Telecom to achieve
this milestone as per Governments Vision,” said the minister, mentioning that in
this digital age reducing the ‘Digital Divide’ the need for Academic Enterprise
Resource Planning (ERP) was crucial.

He said the educational Institution’s in Pakistan were facing a prime challenge
in management of Data. The educational departments continue to maintain records
manually due to existence of system dissimilarity resulting in mounting
disengaged data.

Therefore, the digitilization of manual records is imperative to increase
efficiency, establishing and maintaining quality & standards in education.

To cater this gigantic problem, the Minister remarked that NTC under the
umbrella of MoIT came up with this innovative solution of academic Enterprise
Resource Planning ( ERP) by involving its business partners.

“Ministry has always reposed their trust and confidence in NTC for taking a lead
role to foster digitalization in Public Sector,” he said, adding that this is
first of its kind program where ERP for Academia is deployed on NTC Cloud based
Data Center. “This is a Success story of a Public Sector Organization and a step
towards 4th Industrial Revolution,” he said.

As a pilot project, the deployment of this solution will be done for different
Universities in Karachi and will be expanded nationwide later on.

The main features of this Academic ERP are including Campus Management, Learning
Management, Financial Management, HR Management and Asset / Inventory
Management.

“Under the vision of Government, “Digital Pakistan”, the ministry has accorded
highest priority to the development of ICT infrastructure, services and
applications in Pakistan,” he said, mentioning that the NTC is fully cognizant
to the vision of Government and today's signing is a step towards achieving his
vision.

He further said NTC has taken revolutionary steps in providing state of the art
telecom/ICT services in the Public Sector. “NTC is not only recognized as a
major Telecom key operator but as a profit, efficient and forward looking public
sector entity,” he said.

The Ministry of IT and NTC is all-geared to play its part as the government's
vital functionary in terms of ICT services. “We are here to implement the
Government’s IT vision, i.e. “Digital Pakistan” in letter and spirit,” he
remarked.
