COVID-19 RESPONSE

Our office has implemented social distancing practices recommended by the CDC
and the Alameda County Public Health Department due to COVID-19. This means that
our office has been closed to the public and service requests are currently
being limited to no person to person contact. Service requests can still be made

TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION

Our District strives to protect public health and the quality of life in Alameda
County by effectively and efficiently managing the risks from mosquitoes and
mosquito-borne disease.  


MOSQUITO BIOLOGY

OUR MISSION

Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District is committed to improving the health
and comfort of Alameda County residents by controlling mosquitoes and limiting
the transmission of mosquito-borne diseases.


SERVICES

We provide services including addressing mosquito issues, providing
mosquitofish, identifying insects, and inspecting standing water.  


LOCAL MOSQUITOES

There are over 2500 different species of mosquitoes throughout the world, of
which, 150 species occur in the United States, 53 species occur in California,
and 22 species occur in Alameda County.
