Paralympian!

Fencing South Australia is offering a FREE 4 session beginners’ course! The
course is suitable for teenagers from 15 years old to adults of all ages.

History

Wheelchair fencing has an impressive history. It featured at the 1960 Paralympic
Games and has been in every Paralympic Games since.

About the course

This FREE course runs for 4 weeks, with a 2 hour class each week. Fencers will
be introduced to weapons, basic skills, and electric wheelchair fencing.

All fencing equipment is provided - please wear athletic gear you are comforable
in (but leggings are not advised) and bring a water bottle.

The coach, Leon Thomas, is highly experienced in all 3 weapons - epee, sabre and
foil and has worked internationally as a coach as well as running the fencing
field of play at the Sydney 2000 Olympics and Paralympics.

A minimum of 4 participants are required for the course to go ahead -
registrations will close the Monday prior to the first session (3 June) and
participants contacted if neccesary.
