2021 UKG Works Innovation Awards Program - apply by Oct 1st!

 

Has your organization seen a profound change in how employees are put at the
center of your company’s success or achieved significant business outcomes as a
direct result of your UKG partnership? We encourage you to share your story with
us and apply for the UKG Works Innovation Awards!

 

All UKG Dimensions, Ready, and Central customers who have been live on their
solution for 12+ months and are registered to attend the conference either
virtually or in-person are eligible to apply. Winners will be announced at UKG
Works in November.

 

Winners will be awarded based on the following criteria:

 * How your UKG solution has helped solve complex business problems or taken
   advantage of a previously untapped opportunity, including specific details
   related to increased productivity and efficiency; improved compliance;
   improved reporting capabilities; improved payroll accuracy; better control of
   overtime/labor costs; continuity of people operations; more effective
   scheduling and forecasting practices.
 * Details on how artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, advanced or
   intelligent automation, and/or use of analytics has resulted in better
   business outcomes.
 * How UKG has helped improve engagement, talent, retention, overall company
   culture, or an initiative that otherwise aligns with UKG’s "Our purpose is
   people" core philosophy.
 * Quantifiable business benefits attributed to your UKG solution, including
   time/labor savings; increased efficiencies; elevated employee satisfaction,
   expedited time to hire, or other measurable improvements. Please share
   specific metrics to illustrate business benefits.

Our organization is getting ready to offer 10/4 schedules to Classified and
Union 362 employees. This choice is going to be voluntary, so I will have to
keep the old Pay Rule and create a new one. May I get some pointers? Thank you.

   On Sept 7 we migrated from WFC 8.1.9 to Dimensions. In my opinion, the main
   advantages of WFD are:
   
    * It's the closest thing to Kronos, Workforce Central.
    * WFD is on the cloud which offered a way to bypass some limits in our
      network and data centres that were not helping the user experience with
      Workforce Central.

Scheduling labor level transfers every day?

One of our managers want to "automatically" charge 4 hours to department A and 4
hours to department B every day without needing to enter those labor level
transfers in the time card editor every day. It doesn't matter what time of day
the departments are charged. The sample employee is scheduled for 6a-330p
Monday-Friday. The employee is hourly and punches in/out on a time clock.

 

The only way I can think to do this would be to create a pattern template with
specific start and stop times, such as 6a-10a dept A, 10a-2p dept B, then
2p-330p with no transfer. Then a group schedule could be created and assigned to
multiple people as needed.

 

This is the first request to apply transfers to the schedule. Does anyone know
any gotchas if we do this? Also, we have only the basic scheduling features in
WFC. We don't have the Scheduler module. Thank you!

How about using a percentage allocation rule? You could charge 50% to department
A and 50% to department B.

   Our manager was agreeable to a 50/50 percent allocation rule, so we will be
   turning that on shortly. Thanks everyone for the suggestion! @KarenDonnellan

We have created a comprehensive self-service guide with job aids and videos
called Using UKG KnowledgePass in End User Training: Guidance and tools for
building KnowledgePass into your end-user learning programs. The guide helps
KnowledgePass Training Managers: 

 * Determine how to take advantage of the learning in KnowledgePass for their
   end-user training, how to identify the roles and courses for those roles 
 * How to build and assign the learning paths to their users 
 * How to track their learners’ progress.
