How many degrees is it in the Berchtesgaden salt mine?
In the Berchtesgaden salt mine, the temperature below ground is a constant 12
degrees Celsius all year round.
What clothes are recommended for a visit?
Due to the 12 degrees Celsius below ground all year round, warm clothing
(functional clothing) is recommended. Sturdy shoes are also an advantage due to
the nature of the ground. Overalls to protect your clothes are available on
site. The overalls are compulsory to wear and are available up to size 5XL and
special sizes. Even young children receive an overall.
Is it allowed to film and take photographs during the tour?
No, for safety reasons filming and photography is not allowed in the
Berchtesgaden salt mine.
You will find the perfect photo stops with life-size miner figures or mining
machines around the salt mine and on the salt experience trail.
From what age is a visit to the Berchtesgaden salt mine possible?
A tour of the Berchtesgaden salt mine is possible at any age.Persons under 13
years of age need an accompanying person.
Can I take a pram to the salt mine?
No, the path underground in the Berchtesgaden salt mine is not suitable for
prams and baby backpacks. However, the use of a baby sling is possible; there
are some baby carriers available on loan.
