Overview

OVERVIEW

 1. Season 1 of The Wingfeather Saga is currently in production after becoming
the #1 crowdfunded kids & family animated series of all time, raising over
$5.2 million between Angel Funding and Kickstarter.

 2. In June 2021, The Wingfeather Saga became the fastest Angel Funding project
(to date) to raise $5 million (from nearly 8,000 investors), doing so in 3
weeks. Similarly, back in 2016 their pilot episode was fully funded on
    Kickstarter in under 48 hours.

 3. The Wingfeather Saga has assembled an extremely talented veteran team of
artists and animators to create Season 1, which is scheduled for release in
    early 2023.

 4. The Wingfeather Saga is based on the best-selling, award-winning book
series, which has more than 8,000 five-star reviews, and has seen enormous
sales growth since the 2020 relaunch with Penguin Random House.

 5. The story features redemptive fantasy, lovable characters, high adventure,
and a whimsical sense of humor.

 6. The Wingfeather Saga will be distributed by Angel Studios, which has led
other projects like The Chosen and Dry Bar Comedy to billions of views and
tens of millions of dollars of revenue.*

 7. We are gauging interest in a second funding round to keep up production
momentum in order to deliver season 2 in 2023 without delay.

*Revenue is a key indicator of business growth, but it does not guarantee profit
distributions.

WHY WE'RE GAUGING INTEREST

The response to The Wingfeather Saga TV series has been exciting! It's clear
from messages we've received, social media comments, and our first crowdfunding
round (investment commitments were met in less than three full weeks) that there
is overwhelming demand for an animated fantasy series the whole family can enjoy
together.

Additionally, the world of producing animation requires that we look deeper into
the future to ensure the show is completed on schedule. With Season 1 due early
2023, we want to ensure we have the necessary funds to produce and deliver
Season 2 on a schedule that doesn't leave fans waiting years.

Finally, since our first funding round ended, we regularly hear from people who
missed out inquiring if there will be future opportunities to invest. For all
these reasons, we want to take advantage of the opportunity for fans of the
series to pledge interest in a potential second funding round.

OVERVIEW

In a fantasy world of wonder and danger, one boy discovers a family secret that
may awaken an ancient power or doom them to capture by a nameless evil…

For too long, there’s been virtually no TV series for both parents and kids to
enjoy together. Most adult shows are too explicit for younger children, and most
kids shows make parents and siblings run away screaming.

But in 2008, Andrew Peterson published a beloved children’s fantasy series meant
to be engaging and inspiring to all ages. Over 350,000 copies and 6,000
five-star reviews later, it has become a hit, enjoyed by families all around the
world. And now The Wingfeather Saga Animated Series will bring Peterson’s
imaginative books to life in a stunning new handcrafted CGI animation.

The Wingfeather Saga features whimsical world building, epic stakes,
and redemptive storylines, all with a ticklish sense of humor.

Full of characters rich in heart, smarts, and courage, this is a tale children
of all ages will cherish. Families will appreciate how many-layered themes
reinforce the strength of togetherness, identity, faith, and courage.

If you love the wit of The Princess Bride, the epic world of The Lord of the
Rings, and the deep magic in the Narnia series, you’ll love The Wingfeather
Saga.

THE SERIES

The Wingfeather Saga chronicles the adventures and transformations of the Igiby
family as they discover secrets of their family history, flee the evil Fangs of
Dang, seek their place in the world, and make a stand against the mysterious
ruler, Gnag the Nameless.

They will need their special gifts and all the love of their noble mother and
ex-pirate grandfather to survive the venomous Fangs of Dang, sea dragons,
flabbits, and (gulp) toothy cows!

 * During the 2020 re-launch with Penguin Random House, The Wingfeather Saga
   book sales grew by 600%

 * #1 Bestseller in Children’s Siblings Books

 * On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness - #20 Publisher’s Weekly Bestseller
   List for Kids Fiction

 * Christie Award for Best Young Adult Fiction

 * Over 8,000 5-star reviews

 * The short film pilot episode was fully funded on Kickstarter in under 48
   hours in 2016

 * IAMAG recognized the short film as one of the “top ten” of 2018.

Book 1: On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness

Book 2: North! Or Be Eaten

Book 3: The Monster in the Hollows

Book 4: The Warden and the Wolf King

The Characters:

DEEPLY ROOTED VALUES

The Wingfeather Saga is a deeply redemptive fantasy rooted in values that kids
need but can’t find easily in entertainment. Research shows that “the influence
of the media on the psychosocial development of children is profound.
Particularly those passive and subversive framing.

It’s important to take an active role in selecting content that will help kids
become incredible adults. This series delivers on that promise by weaving those
themes into the story world itself.

 * Magic can be experienced, not conjured.

 * Family is foundation, not confrontation.

 * Identity matters.

 * Diversity is dignity.

 * Love is sacrifice.

 * Imagination is boundless.

 * Good conquers evil.

that will serve families with stories of truth and beauty.

He lives in Franklin, TN with his wife and six children and is very active in

Andrew Peterson

Executive Producer and Author

Andrew is a recording artist, songwriter, producer, filmmaker, and award-winning
author of The Wingfeather Saga. He believes in the power of story in the human
experience, a view that inspires his music and his writing. His music has
garnered three separate Dove Award nominations. In 2008, driven by a desire to
cultivate a strong Christian arts community, Andrew founded a non-profit arts
organization called The Rabbit Room. The Rabbit Room hosts concerts and
conferences and has published over 30 books to date.

Between the books, albums, and tours, Andrew has spoken regularly at
conferences, universities, and seminaries around the country and in the U.K. on
art, faith, and writing. He was writer-in-residence at Covenant College in 2015,
and at John Brown University in 2014. He received the Association of Biblical
Higher Education (ABHE) Delta Epsilon Chi Honor Society award, presented to an
alumnus who has distinguished himself/herself by intellectual achievement,
Christian character, and leadership ability. Most recently he was a keynote
speaker in Cambridge, England for the C. S. Lewis Foundation’s Oxbridge Summer
Conference.

He’s been married for 24 years to his wife Jamie, with whom they have three
children. His eldest is an animation graduate from Lipscomb University, his
second son is a drummer and studio engineer, and his daughter is a
singer-songwriter and has released her first album. In his spare time Andrew
keeps bees, builds dry stack stone walls, gardens, draws, and sleeps.

Keith Lango

Animation Director and CG Supervisor

Keith is both a student and instructor in the art of animation and its
technology. His passion for developing engaging experiences in animation has
given him a wide and varying experience in the field and was fundamental to the
creation of The Wingfeather Saga's distinct animation style. He has worked on
3-2-1 Penguins, VeggieTales and at Valve Corporation on video games like Portal
2. He brings a strength of animation technology experience as well as a deep
knowledge of pipeline challenges that can stunt a production and stifle artist
creativity and how to avoid them.

Garrett Taylor

Art Director

Garrett is both an artist and an observer of the natural world. Coming from over
10 years at Pixar Animation Studio, his passion for building worlds has given
him a deep understanding of creating beautiful and intriguing art. His career
started as an intern for Pixar. Working his way to art director, he designed on
many acclaimed films. His most recent works are on display in the movies Luca
and the unreleased Lightyear. Outside of painting and design, Garrett devotes
his time to his family and his carpentry skills. Bringing strength and expertise
to the team, Garrett is a perfect addition to The Wingfeather Saga team. Without
his eye, the series would fail to produce the beauty and awe that the books
demand.

WHAT WILL THE SHOW BE LIKE?

The Wingfeather Saga team has developed an innovative blend between CGI and
hand-drawn artistry to bring the unique character of the series to life. We
wanted to echo the story experience in a visual way, which meant finding new
ways to make traditional CGI feel more organic. The result invites the audience
to engage their imagination in a more abstract visual space that extends beyond
the edges of the frame.

Our goal is to turn The Wingfeather Saga into a multi-season animated series
that the whole family can look forward to enjoying episode after episode.

Here’s what viewers are saying about the pilot short film:

“The animation is original and beautiful; I like how you're taking a new look on
the traditional CGI all the big companies insist upon, and the music is
breath-taking.

“The animation style is so unique, the voice acting is on point, and it follows
the events in the book perfectly!”

“Awesome work and an encaptivating storyline…..I feel that I want to explore
much more of this world and the characters within it, I certainly want more, I'd
love to see this as a feature length movie, I guess I'll just have to read the
books for now!!”

“I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS REAL!? I GREW UP ON THESE BOOKS! I spent my teenage
years hooked on this series, hours lost in its world.”

THE CHALLENGE

The imaginative story of The Wingfeather Saga inspires the visuals to be equally
compelling and engaging. The hand-crafted painterly style undergirds the themes
within the story where beauty and artistry have great significance in the world.
Typical “modeling clay on a partly cloudy day” CGI is a glut in the industry and
we’re determined to bring something fresh to the screen with our proprietary
“paint-motion” animation technology.

CGI action-adventure animation takes skill and artistry to make it compelling.
Competitive TV series animation typically costs $600k to $1mil per episode and
come with lots of industry strings attached! And the results are often empty
calorie stories that don’t have any meaning. We’ve been able to recruit
top-level talent to the series, because of the unique combination of epic and
meaningful story with innovative and visually compelling animation.

There are thousands of The Wingfeather Saga fans out there, and millions more
future Wingfeather fans waiting to discover the story’s amazing characters, rich
world, and deep magic. We are creating the show for those people, a show that
has an incredible story with important values in the driver’s seat. That way the
whole family can watch it and talk about it together.

By partnering with Angel Studios, showrunners of The Wingfeather Saga won’t have
to compromise this view or surrender creative control to industry trends. The
message of the program will drive its viewership.

THE ANGEL FUNDING MODEL

Unlike other crowdfunding campaigns, when you back our project on Angel Funding,
you’re not donating money, you’re investing in the show’s success. That means if
the show succeeds in earning enough revenue, you will earn a share of the
profits. And the profits on successful content can be huge.* The top 10 highest
grossing franchises of all time have been made for kids. There’s a need for
great family friendly media, especially a TV series like The Wingfeather Saga
that brings families together.

*Although it is true that profits on successful content can be huge, we are not
making a guarantee of any return. Please only invest what you can afford to
lose.

An enormous portion of the revenue earned by these top franchises comes from
merchandising. The memorable characters in The Wingfeather Saga and its
ever-vicious monsters, like Toothy Cows and Horned Hounds, provide exciting
merchandising opportunities that we plan to take advantage of and extend the
audience experience.

And by partnering with Angel Studios, where communities of fans are championing
the content they want to see succeed, The Wingfeather Saga is positioned to
connect with families around the world!

Plus if you invest, you’ll be helping create something that you believe in,
something your whole family can binge-watch without any guilt whatsoever.
