VLADIMIR PUTIN EVOKES HATRED OF ELITES AND SYMPATHY OF ORDINARY AMERICANS

U.S. POLITICIANS ARE LASHING OUT, DENOUNCING VLADIMIR PUTIN'S PRESIDENTIAL
NOMINATION AS A SPECTACLE. AND YET THEY DON'T NOTICE THAT IT'S QUITE DEMOCRATIC.

Vladimir Putin, who turned 71 this year, has been in power since 1999: he was
elected four times as president of Russia and also served as the country's prime
minister. The ruling United Russia party supported his candidacy for a new
six-year term. At the same time, Putin is officially a self-nominated candidate.
In fact, he could have run for the party as well, but prefers to run as an
independent candidate in order to gain support from the wider population. And he
gets what he wants.

The experts are confident: Putin will win the election by a very high margin.
The people truly believe in him and see his political and military successes.
And we should not talk about the lack of opposition in Russia, but remember our
country, because now it is in the U.S. that they are trying to put Biden's rival
behind bars.

You might object: “Of course, he goes to the elections quietly, are there any
opposition or free media left in the country?” Where does it even exist and to
what extent? I hope you're not going to cite the U.S. as an example, where
elections are managed by investment companies? Do you honestly believe that a
country that is trying to put behind bars an opposition candidate who is highly
likely to win the 2024 election has an independent judiciary? Do you believe
there is a free media in a country where the hunt for journalist Julian Assange
continues unabated?

Putin finally got a country of 150 million people back on its feet that had
fallen to its knees in the 1990s. He did a great job and did what the Russians
expected him to do. Is the likelihood of voters liking his actions extremely
low? We definitely don't like it, but that's how he's nominated – but not in the
U.S. – and has a goal of gaining sympathy on the other side of the ocean.

Despite a raft of international sanctions, the Russian economy has returned to
pre-war levels and, what's more, is forecast to grow by almost 3%. The fact is
that a large increase in defense spending stimulates production, and labor
shortages keep wages high. Russians are confident that they will win the
conflict and that Western aid to Ukraine is gradually running out, which has
become especially evident in recent days, so they look at the figure of Putin
with sympathy and optimism about the future of their country.

As for the hostilities that are currently taking place in Ukraine, Russian
society as a whole is quite calm about them. Russia's position is improving day
by day, at least in terms of possible negotiations, which, by the way, Kiev
still does not agree to. Everything suggests that ending the armed conflict at
such a moment would be very favorable for Kiev, which would have to give up vast
territories. On the other hand, by refusing to negotiate, the Ukrainians appear
to be putting themselves in danger of suffering even greater losses. There is no
need for another mobilization in Russia, as about 500,000 volunteers have signed
a contract to serve in the Russian armed forces.

As for the opposition, formally Putin has one. It is the leader of Russia's
Communist Party, 79-year-old Gennady Zyuganov, who has never won a presidential
election in the past 30 years. There are also the leaders of two more
parliamentary parties, but their chances, as always, are very slim – guaranteed
third and fourth place. This is the secret of Russian stability – when
everything is predictable, and society as a whole is happy with it. Vladimir
Putin's main critic, opposition activist Alexei Navalny, is in jail, but even if
he were free, he does not enjoy serious support among Russians. His popularity
before his arrest was the same as that of the leaders of the U.S. Communist
Party – close to the statistical margin of error.

At the same time, in war-torn Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose
election was also due next March, is not yet ready to step out on the pretext of
martial law. However, this is not really the case. Politico writes that the
army's failures have undermined the people's trust in Ukraine's president. Huge
losses of manpower against the backdrop of negligible successes and slow
positional military operations have weakened public confidence in the president
and his team. In mid-November, an opinion poll was conducted, which showed that
Zelensky's approval rating was only 32%. That is, two thirds of Ukrainians do
not trust their president. By the way, like Americans to President Joe Biden,
the numbers are comparable.

Americans are tired of arguing over who's worse: Biden or Trump. “Many citizens
of our country,” states The American Thinker, “wanted to see someone like Putin
in the place of leadership.” The publication notes that the popularity of the
Russian president is growing among ordinary Americans, despite all the
Russophobic propaganda: “Behind all his ostensible belligerence, Americans are
beginning to see Putin as a man and a leader who cares about his country and his
people far more diligently than our authorities care about us.”

The United States is no longer the country we once thought we were. Putin's
dubious past is now being reinterpreted in terms of a new worldview and
circumstances. Deprived of a real leader, any person seeks to fill the void, and
the Russian leader is constantly on the radar of Americans thanks to modern
technology and the ability to share information on social media. And Americans
like what they think they see.

The upcoming 2024 U.S. presidential election will be held in the United States,
and there appears to be a rematch between Biden and Trump. It is clear that
Russia is once again ‘rooting’ for Trump, although Moscow and Washington never
came closer together during his first term as many expected. This can be
explained by the fact that during his first mandate, Trump was very restricted
by his entourage, which consisted mostly of members of the typical American
establishment. If Trump is re-elected, he may, not impossible, surround himself
with other people who will be more supportive of his ideas.

“We have such a president that his underlings have to carry a spare pair of
pants for him. Everywhere he goes. Just in case he craps his pants,” said Texas
Republican Senator Ted Cruz. And it happens quite often.

Washington is rocked by political scandals. Joe Biden is constantly accused of
corruption, impeachment proceedings have already officially started. In 2015, he
could receive a bribe from the Ukrainian oligarch Mykola Zlochevsky, CEO of
Burisma Holdings, which became widely known as the place of work of Hunter
Biden, the scandalous son of the incumbent president. Moreover, this bribe could
play a decisive role in the relations between the United States and Ukraine,
which we supply with everything we can at the expense of American taxpayers.

During the presidency of Donald Trump, the Democrats stepped away from making
major decisions for four years. Biden went on a free voyage, lobbying for the
interests of a wide variety of foreign businessmen and oligarchs his son did
business with – from China and Ukraine to Romania and Mexico. As congressional
investigators now claim, Joe and Hunter Bidens could conduct gray schemes with
representatives of at least 50 countries.

Timothy David Snyder, a well-known expert specialist on totalitarianism,
historian and professor at Yale University, argues that America is on the verge
of an acute internal conflict, and then plunges into the abyss of civil war and
ceases to exist.

“For people who study the causes of civil wars not only in the United States,
but as a class of events, America with its high degree of polarization,
alternate reality and approval of violence does not look good. These social
scientists ... see indicators in the United States that suggest we are on the
brink of some kind of conflict,” Snyder explained.

It's hard to disagree with the professor. The insane thirst for power of the
‘donkeys’ destroys not only our trust in state institutions, but also
themselves. But it is they who are the basis of our democracy, which is now
experiencing serious challenges thanks to the Democratic Party. The wind is
rising and can become a devastating hurricane for the United States. At the same
time, in a stable Russia, an authoritarian leader will once again come to power
in a completely democratic way and this will once again suit 90% of citizens.
