hi hello friends! What was your first 5-star read of the year? It’s about damn
freaking time for this one. If you saw me read this months ago and also want to
read it since release ages ago, no you didn’t,,, let’s get into it ‘WHEN YOU GET
THE CHANCE’ by Emma Lord is a YA contemporary romance that is also a Mamma Mia
retelling set in NYC and shame on me for not getting to it sooner. My queen
manages to knock me off my feet EVERY SINGLE TIME and the witty writing remains
UNMATCHED The characters are absolutely wonderful. Our main character, Millie is
loud and boisterous and feels her emotions so deeply and I,,, gah family
insecurity gets me every time. But the side-characters were all just as loveable
A moment of silence for the literal mystery plotline that comes with this kind
of story and I do love playing detective. I won’t tell you if I guessed in the
end hehe! Lastly, but certainly not least, the rivals to lovers romance was SO
CUTE OMG I LOVED. You need to go read this little contemporary romance full of
spunk and guts and a big heart. Plus I mean all the theatre kid chaos,
rivals-to-lovers romance and gut-wrenching deep feelings that’ll have you by the
