Rescue Fenix is a 501c3 non-profit organization mobilized by the feeling of
compassion for animal welfare, animals in danger, abused, and the sick and
neglected. We aim to provide food, shelter, and medical services for needy
animals. Along with a strong adoption program to ensure that every companion
animal lives in a safe, loving, and secure home. We rehabilitate the abused,
abandoned, and sick homeless dogs in desperate situations, and provide them with
the love and care that they need.

Female | Small | Adult
Escondido, CA


Candy was found all but begging to be saved from her nightmarish hellscape she
considered normality. Living on the streets of Mexico, invisible, covered in
ailments, and practically starving to death. Every single day of her life, she
felt pain, rejection, and the eyes of every human who thought she wasn’t worth
the help. 

Sporting what looks to be horribly itchy, painful, inflamed skin we as rescuers
could no longer stand seeing her wait for someone to take pity. She was found
wandering hopelessly looking for any morsel of food that could help cure the
hunger she was feeling, let alone how dehydrated she was, making her hunt for
food even more difficult and nonsensical. When spotted, the kind rescuers came
to us at Rescate Fenix Animal Rescue in the hopes we could take her. One look
into those gorgeous eyes and we knew she needed to be saved. We welcomed Candy
into our rescue, where for the first time in her life she sat in what was her
own comfortable bed, got a full bowl of food and water, and didn’t have to be
afraid to sleep. 

We took this lovely little one to the vet day after getting her a comforting
warm medicated bath. They ran a clinic for a complete check-up, blood tests were
done, also she was dewormed, now we are just waiting on her results and see what
type of treatments will follow she may need to heal. She is safe and currently
at the hospital while the doctors ensure Candy is comfortable and healthy enough
to come back to us. 

Please find it in your heart and soul to help Candy, as she was named this for a
reason; she is a sweet and lovable pup begging to be loved by those around her.
With a small donation, you can help this darling dog with her treatments to
defeat her strife in this life. Thank you so much to every benefactor who has
