U.S. AMBASSADOR TO FIJI MARIE DAMOUR PRESENTS HER CREDENTIALS

U.S. Ambassador to Fiji, and Ambassador Designate to Kiribati, Nauru, Tonga, and
Tuvalu, Marie Damour presented her credentials to Fiji’s President Ratu Wiliame
Katonivere on November 24.


U.S. EMBASSY AWARDS THREE NGOS WITH PUBLIC DIPLOMACY GRANTS

The U.S. Embassy today awarded $39,000 in Public Diplomacy Small Grants to three
Fijian NGOs. These grants will help these organizations to create economic
opportunities and develop in-demand skills in their communities.


COAST GUARD CUTTER OLIVER BERRY CONDUCTS CONTACTLESS COVID-19 PPE DELIVERY AT
KIRITIMATI

On October 20th, 2022, U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Oliver Berry, a 154-foot fast
response cutter homeported in Honolulu, completed the first leg of their
extended expeditionary patrol arriving in Kiritimati Island, located in the
Republic of Kiribati.


USAID HIGHLIGHTS PACIFIC EXPANSION AND DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIPS IN FIJI

Following the announcement to re-establish a regional U.S. Agency for
International Development (USAID) mission for the Pacific Islands in Fiji, USAID
Philippines, Pacific Islands and Mongolia Mission Director Ryan Washburn and
Deputy Mission Director Betty Chung arrived in Suva.


UNITED STATES HOSTS FIRST-EVER CLEAN ENERGY WORKSHOP AND WOMEN IN CLEAN ENERGY
CONFERENCE

In collaboration with the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC), the United
States is hosting the first-ever Clean Energy Workshop and Pacific Women in
Energy Conference from October 4-6 in Suva to support the Pacific Islands’ clean
energy transition and climate adaptation efforts.
