WHAT IS JAGUAR PARADE?



Jaguar Parade is an open-air art exhibition of decorated jaguar statues. It is
an art installation with a purpose: to raise funds and awareness about the
urgent need to conserve jaguars and their habitats.

Placing the jaguar statues in key public places brings the environmental cause
to the forefront of the public’s attention, reaching millions of people in a
very unique way. 🐆


THE CAUSE



Jaguars exist in 18 countries in Latin America, from Mexico to Argentina.
Despite this broad range, jaguars have been eradicated in nearly half of their
historic range.
The species is threatened by loss and fragmentation of jaguar habitats, conflict
with people due to the real or perceived threat posed to livestock, and
overhunting of the jaguar’s prey.

Conserving the jaguar means conserving tropical forests, wetlands, and other
environments that are crucial to the wellbeing of humans and countless other
species. 🌎

COMING SOON:

JAGUAR PARADE NYC 2022



In the spring of 2022, dozens of jaguar sculptures painted by great artists will
be exhibited in iconic locations throughout New York City such as Central Park,
Fifth Avenue, Times Square, and the Brooklyn Bridge.

The event will culminate in an art auction with 100% of the net proceeds going
to jaguar conservation efforts.

11/29/2021 (INTERNATIONAL JAGUAR DAY)


LAUNCH OF #SPOTTHEJAGUAR CAMPAIGN

The first mural will be created in São Paulo, Brazil in November 29th  while the
other 19 murals will be painted over the following weeks in 19 countries of
Latin America, moving increasingly closer to the Jaguar Parade location as we
paint the road to NYC.


CALL TO ARTISTS

Artists from all over the world will submit their initial design ideas for
painting a jaguar statue. On January 20th  the list of pre-selected design
ideas  will be released. These design ideas  are eligible to be sponsored.
Sponsors will be able to choose one  from this list or invite an artist of their
choosing to paint a jaguar(s).




03/15/2022 TO 05/15/2022


PAINTINGS

Artists will paint the jaguars at their studios or at the Jaguar Parade's 
warehouse. Pictures and videos will be shared with each sponsor to be used in
their marketing channels.



05/21/2022


OPENING PARTY

The opening  party brings together sponsors, artists, celebrities, and partners
to admire the completed jaguar statues exclusively before the public exhibition
begins.




05/22/2022 (INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY) TO 06/22/2022


PUBLIC EXHIBITION & INTERNET AUCTION:

All jaguars will be exhibited in hand-selected positions around the city with
important social, cultural, or historical significance and in high-trafficked
areas. The internet auction will also take place during this time period and
100% of the auction's net proceeds will be donated to support jaguar
conservation efforts in the Americas through civil society organizations.
