A large thin sensor mat is placed under the user’s mattress and will detect when a person has continued abnormal movements over a pre-set period of time and then raises an alert. The Emfit Control Unit has a built-in audible alarm that will sound during a seizure which is ideal where a carer or parent is in the same room. You can also connect a pager or careline alarm to the Emfit epilepsy bed sensor. KEY FEATURES * Detects tonic-clonic seizures * Ideal for nursing home or residential use * Sensitivity adjustment * Can be used as a bed occupancy sensor * Six months of failure back-up * Compatible with nurse call systems * Easy set-up * Only $1535 + gst Sleep sensor for detecting repetitive muscle jerking in the body EMFIT Epilepsy Seizure Movement Monitor is designed to be a night-time motion detector for any type of sustained night-time movement. It detects fast, abnormal movements that may occur during the night, and will sound a high-frequency alert if these movements continue past a preset amount of time. EMFIT Epilepsy Alarm is the top selling device of its kind and currently in use in over 60 countries worldwide. It is clinically proven technology that’s easy to install. NIGHT TIME SEIZURE DETECTION EMFIT MM consists of a film-like bed sensor and a control unit. The dynamic sensor pad is placed under the mattress and detects even the slightest movements of the person lying above it, including micro-movements caused by the heart beating. The sensor is attached to the control unit with an interconnection cable. Faster, sustained movements that continue longer than pre-set thresholds will trigger a notification. The system can also notice light movements, thus making it suitable even for small children. s NIGHT TIME SEIZURE DETECTION Monitoring for signs of irregular motion throughout the night f HIGHLY SENSITIVE EMFIT detects micro-movements such as a heart beating from underneath the mattress. R PEACE OF MIND Peace of mind knowing a monitor is tracking movements constantly. NO AGE OR WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS The Emfit can be used by anyone – from infants to elderly. The Emfit epileptic seizure alarm is a sensor that monitors a person with epilepsy while they sleep. Patented sensor technology detects all of a person’s movement in bed and is able to differentiate normal movements from epileptic seizures. The epileptic seizure alarm consists of a sensor, a control unit and a radio transmitter. The bed sensor is extremely thin and contains no embedded wires or switches. An alarm can be raised through a local audible alarm if there is a carer nearby. How does it work? The epilepsy sensor monitors a persons’ movements including respiration and heartbeat. It is able to separate normal movements from epileptic seizure symptoms such as tonic-clonic shakings or similar continued movement. The sensor also detects hyperventilation and partial convulsions as seizures. The alarm triggers if the person has abnormal movements longer than the pre-set delay. The delay can be set between 10-20 seconds. Why is it needed? The sensor is used to alert an onsite carer when a person begins to seize during sleep and requires immediate assistance. Seizing during sleep can be dangerous as it places a person at risk of: • inhaling vomit or other fluids if not rolled onto their side • coming into contact with furniture or objects surrounding the bed • falling from their bed The sensor reduces the need for carers to make physical checks, promoting independence and dignity for the user. Who is it for? This solution may benefit people living with epilepsy to support and complement professional care where individuals are concerned about having seizures overnight. The epilepsy sensor does not have weight restrictions, making it a suitable solution for children as well as adults. Please feel free to contact us for more information or visit our FAQ page.
