DIRECTIONS

    

 1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking
    dish. Combine the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, and olive oil in a small
    bowl until evenly moistened; set aside.
    
    

 2. Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil over
    high heat. Once the water is boiling, stir in the penne, and return to a
    boil. Cook the pasta uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the pasta has
    cooked through, but is still firm to the bite, about 11 minutes. Drain well
    in a colander set in the sink.
    
    

 3. Meanwhile, combine the chicken in a bowl with the Italian cheese blend,
    spinach, tomatoes, alfredo sauce, pesto sauce, and milk. Stir in the pasta
    once done, and scoop into the prepared baking dish. Top with the bread crumb
    mixture.
    
    

 4. Bake in the preheated oven until bubbly and golden brown on top, 40 to 45
    minutes.

Geez some people drive me crazy! How on earth are you going to rate this recipe
when you haven't even made it??? & because of the calorie/fat content? Not at
any point does this recipe say low calorie or low fat! To rate a recipe with 1
star because of what it "sounds" like completely defeats the meaning of this
website. I've never commented before, but I am just amazed at some users
sometimes!!! By the way...wonderful recipe!!! Will make again & again...& again!

I made the recipe with shrimp instead of chicken and added some fresh basil in
addition to the jar of pesto. Put in twice the amount of spinach because it
cooks down so much. It was very tasty.

This is a comfort food casserole; not fine dining entree. Based on the
ingredients list and a couple of other reviews, I was afraid that the flavors
would be cacophonous rather than harmonious. I'm pleased to say that didn't turn
out to be the case. The alfredo, pesto, and crushed tomatoes combine to make a
homey sauce for the chicken and noodles, the spinach adds a nice vegetable, and
the generous crumb/parmesan topping completes the texture to it all. Like other
reviewers, I used the common 8oz jar of pesto rather than the 15oz jar called
for in the recipe. (I'm not sure I've ever seen a jar of pesto sauce that large
in a grocery store.) As I combined the ingredients, I became concerned that they
might not fit in the 9x13 glass baking pan, but it all did fit, although bulging
above the top. This recipe makes a huge quantity; you're either going to a large
potluck, or having leftovers for days.

Super EASY and SUPER tasty. My 21 year old LOVES it and he is so picky. My 26
year old nephew went to the store the next day and called me to get the
ingredients after he polished off a whole casserole himself. lol. My son will be
by this evening to have supper with us and guess what he requested. Yep this is
the BEST. We will service it with garlic bread and salads tonight. Absolutely
hands down a new family favorite. Ooey Gooey Cheesy DELISH!
