This is to enhance the usage of your smartphone, this fix cuts across all
platforms either android or iPhone users. The only thing that will make you lose
interest in using your smartphone is when it runs slow and has low storage due
to the continuous years of usage. If you really love your smartphone and want to
use it for a longer period without facing any issues then make sure you do this
frequently. You can set up a schedule and do it every 3 days or weekly.
Now let’s get into the tips.
1. CLEAR THE CACHE MEMORY OF ALL APPS:
The cache memory is temporal storage for your apps, your apps stores temporal
data in the cache so that it can load faster anytime you access it. If you have
about 20 Apps on your smartphone, they will all use some part of your phone’s
storage as their cache memory which ends up occupying space and slowing down
your smartphone when there is not enough space. Deleting all your applications
and phone browser cache will make your phone run faster and also free up some
storage space.
Apps that do not allow you to clear the cache on both android and iPhone are
sometimes system apps and should be left alone or if the need is, you can
uninstall and reinstall it back again.
How to clear the Cache memory:
IOS:
1. Hold down the sleep button until the power off slider appears on your
screen
2. Hold down the home button until your iPhone goes back to the home screen.
3. Now on the home screen, your iPhone has cleared all the Cache memory of
the Apps.
Also:
1. Open your settings
2. Swipe down and click on the Safari
3. Also swipe down again and click on the “Clear History and Website Data”.
4. Click the “Clear History and Data” again to confirm the action or click
Cancel to cancel the action.
Android:
How to clear the cache on android devices varies from brand to brand but this
step might look similar.
1. Go to settings
2. Go to Applications & Notifications
3. Click on any Application you want to clear its cache
4. Click on the storage
5. Now, click on the clear cache to clear the cache of the app.
6. Do the same for all the Apps.
2. LEAVE AT LEAST 30% OF FREE STORAGE SPACE:
Your smartphone’s OS and apps always need free room or space to operate
efficiently. When there is not enough internal storage on your smartphone, every
action you take on the phone will run slow. Always check your internal storage
when your smartphone runs slow and do the needful by freeing up some space.
3. CLEAR CHATS FREQUENTLY:
If you have a messenger app like WhatsApp installed, the uncleared chats occupy
space on your phone and that will be eating up your storage unknowingly. If you
don’t want to lose your favorite chats, you can back them up on google drive or
iCloud.
4. MAKE SURE ALL YOUR OS AND APPS ARE UP-TO-DATE:
Outdated apps and OSs might not work efficiently as they used to be in their
fresh states so, make sure they are always updated for them to run smoothly.
5. DO NOT SAVE YOUR CONTACTS ON YOUR SMARTPHONE’S INTERNAL STORAGE:
When you have more contacts, they will take up your phone’s storage and when
your phone gets lost too, you will lose all your contacts.
To free your smartphone’s storage and also keep your contacts safe, save your
contacts on google drive or iCloud.
Doing this will make your smartphone run faster and more efficiently.
