 * What is API Evangelist?
   
   API Evangelist began as a research project in 2010, attempting to understand
   what was happening with web APIs. Over the years the blog has continued as
   the learning research playground for Kin Lane, the API Evangelist, the Chief
   Evangelist at Postman, and now while I lead API governance at Bloomberg.

 * What is an API?
   
   An API is an application programming interface, used to connect online
   systems together and power web, mobile, device, network, and other types of
   applications. APIs have been around since the 60s, but the most recent era of
   web APIs began in 2000 with early pioneers like Salesforce, eBay, and Amazon.

 * Why Are APIs Important?
   
   APIs power every aspect of our lives today, from our laptops to our mobile
   phones, our automobiles, and our houses, there are APIs being everything.
   Seeing and making sense of APIs is proving to be critical for companies,
   organizations, institutions government agencies, and most importantly, you.
