Multiple sources are reporting a wildfire burning north of Hwy 16, near Tintagel. Updates indicate that the fire remains at approximately 864 acres (350 hectares) and is out of control as of July 12. Officials have issued an Evacuation Alert for the areas including the west of Burns Lake accessed by Gowan, Wiebe, or Boer Mountain roads, north of the Kager Lake Campsite. An evacuation order has been issued for Kager Lake Campsite and Trails, and Boer Mountain Trail system. On July 10, a further evacuation order was issued for all lands and properties accessed by Boer Mountain Road north of the Kager Lake Campsite, andto the west of the existing Tintagel Evacuation Alert Area No injuries or structural damage have been reported. Winds in the area are blowing from the west at four miles (six kilometers) per hour, and the relative humidity is 58 percent.
