Africare Community Services Inc., based in Victoria, Australia is dedicated to
supporting African migrants, with a primary focus on mental health and social
integration. Our team of qualified therapists offers confidential counselling
services to address challenges such as trauma, stress, anxiety, and depression.
We recognise the unique difficulties faced by individuals and families who have
journeyed from Africa to Australia, including culture shock, language barriers
and the stress of establishing new lives far from familiar support networks.

Beyond individual counselling, Africare provides a comprehensive range of

We offer tailored counselling services to address a wide range of mental health

utilising evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy,
Psychodynamic Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy. We create a safe,
confidential space for clients to work through issues like trauma, stress,
anxiety, and depression, with a cultural sensitivity that acknowledges the
unique experiences of African migrants.


SOCIAL INTEGRATION

Our initiatives focus on active community involvement and engaging events to
promote cultural understanding. We organise cultural exchange activities,
language support services, and networking opportunities that connect African
migrants with the broader Australian community. Our efforts aim to ease the
transition into Australian society, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual
understanding between diverse cultures.


DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SUPPORT

Diverse (CALD) backgrounds, including those within the African and other migrant
communities who identify as LGBTQIA+. Our services include culturally competent
counselling, support groups, advocacy for LGBTQIA+ rights, and education
initiatives to promote acceptance and understanding within migrant communities.
We strive to create a safe, inclusive space where individuals can fully express
their identities without fear of discrimination.
