About the Dunedin Dunedin is a small city (population 134,000) located in the South Island of New Zealand. There are no fully private schools, and several integrated schools. Schooling in Dunedin remains excellent for children - for all facets of education that parents care about - academic, social, sport, and the arts and music While Dunedin is a little colder than most New Zealand cities, the locals are not deterred. There are several excellent ski fields three to four hours' drive away catering to on-piste, cross-country, and back-country skiing / snowboarding.
