As of March 7, 2022, KPRC 2 will no longer be tracking daily coronavirus
statistics through its current articles, charts and graphics as it relates to
the two-year pandemic starting in 2020. However, if there are new COVID-19
variants, upticks in cases or other newsworthy developments as it relates to the
coronavirus, the station will begin a new effort to document the latest
information and statistics.

HOUSTON – As of March 7, 2022, KPRC 2 will no longer be tracking daily
coronavirus statistics through its current articles, charts and graphics as it
relates to the two-year pandemic starting in 2020. However, if there are new
COVID-19 variants, upticks in cases or other newsworthy developments as it
relates to the coronavirus, the station will begin a new effort to document the
latest information and statistics.

Here is a quick look at the coronavirus cases that have been reported in the
Greater Houston area.




AUSTIN COUNTY: 5,536 CASES, 71 DEATHS, 3,831 RECOVERIES

Officials ask people to get the latest information about COVID-19 cases in
Austin Country from the Texas Department of Health and Human Services here.


BRAZORIA COUNTY: 87,052 TOTAL CASES, 789 DEATHS, 85,812 RECOVERIES

Information about the cases in Brazoria County can be found at
BrazoriaCountyTX.gov.



NOTE: As of June 8, officials in Brazoria County said they are no longer going
to report the Department of Criminal Justice cases in the county’s total. This
caused the number of reported cases in the county to substantially drop.


BRAZOS COUNTY: 59,648 TOTAL CASES, 401 DEATHS, 35,604 RECOVERIES

Information about the cases in Brazos County can be found at BrazosHealth.org.


CALHOUN COUNTY: 5,653 TOTAL CASES, 46 DEATHS, 3,932 RECOVERIES

Calhoun County Texas Emergency Management has been providing official
information about the cases on Facebook.


CHAMBERS COUNTY: 11,587 TOTAL CASES, 111 DEATHS, 11,453 RECOVERIES

COLORADO COUNTY: 3,699 TOTAL CASES, 61 DEATH, 2,653 RECOVERIES

Colorado County Emergency Management has been providing official information
about the cases on Facebook.




FORT BEND COUNTY: 134,960 TOTAL CASES, 1,186 DEATHS, 130,802 RECOVERIES

Official information about the cases in Fort Bend County can be found at
fbchealth.org.


GALVESTON COUNTY: 81,545 TOTAL CASES, 655 DEATHS, 78,632 RECOVERIES

GRIMES COUNTY: 8,409 CASES, 116 DEATHS, 5,384 RECOVERIES

Grimes County Emergency Management has been providing official information about
the cases on its Facebook page.

NOTE: As of June 30, 2020, officials in Grimes County said they are no longer
going to report the Department of Criminal Justice cases in the county’s total.
This caused the number of reported cases in the county to substantially drop


HARRIS COUNTY: 429,319 CASES, 2,980 DEATHS, 418,698 RECOVERIES

This number does not include cases reported in the city of Houston. Those
numbers are broken down in a separate entry below.

CITY OF HOUSTON: 441,946 CASES, 4,246 DEATHS, 410,300 RECOVERIES

Official information about all of the cases in Houston can be found at
houstonemergency.org.


LIBERTY COUNTY: 17,460 CASES, 392 DEATHS, 13,221 RECOVERIES

The Liberty County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security has been
providing case information on its Facebook page.


MATAGORDA COUNTY: 8,140 TOTAL CASES, 174 DEATHS, 6,120 RECOVERIES

Official information about the Matagorda County cases is being provided at
matagordaregional.org.


MONTGOMERY COUNTY: 135,370 TOTAL CASES, 1,260 DEATHS, 94,000 RECOVERIES

Official information about the cases in Montgomery County is being provided at
mcphd-tx.org.




POLK COUNTY: 7,777 TOTAL CASES, 239 DEATHS, 5,851 RECOVERIES

Information about the Polk County cases are being provided at acchd.us.


SAN JACINTO COUNTY: 5,315 TOTAL CASES, 100 DEATHS, 2,990 RECOVERIES

Information about the San Jacinto County cases are provided by the Texas
Department of Health dashboard.


WALKER COUNTY: 18,260 TOTAL CASES, 207 DEATHS, 12,120 RECOVERIES

Officials have been providing information about the cases on the Walker County
Office of Emergency Management’s Facebook page.


WALLER COUNTY: 9,324 TOTAL CASES, 100 DEATHS, 6,877 RECOVERIES

Officials are providing information about all of the Waller County cases at
co.waller.tx.us.


WASHINGTON COUNTY: 8,960 TOTAL CASES, 144 DEATHS, 5,918 RECOVERIES

Officials are providing information about the cases in Washington County
oem.wacounty.com.




WHARTON COUNTY: 8,717 TOTAL CASES, 205 DEATH, 6,275 RECOVERIES

Officials have provided information about the cases at co.wharton.tx.us.
