The Women in Retail and Total Retail Virtual Exchange takes place tomorrow, May
19 from 12-2 p.m. ET. Have you signed up yet for this complimentary event? If

As per usual, we have some incredible women joining us to share their
experiences and insights.
First up, we’ll hear from:
* Rebecca Minkoff, Co-Founder and Creative Director, Rebecca Minkoff
* Emma Chiu, Global Director, Wunderman Thompson Intelligence
* Phyllis Marcus, Partner, Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP
These powerhouse leaders will address what so many in the retail industry are
talking about — the metaverse. Specifically, the panelists will define what
exactly is the metaverse, how retailers and brands can have a presence in it,
how to monetize that presence, and much more.
The second session includes:
* Sucharita Kodali, Vice President, Principal Analyst, Forrester
* Melanie Zimmermann, Vice President, Macy’s Media Network, Macy’s
These two, along with Michael Schuh, vice president, media strategy, Kroger
Precision Marketing, will take part in a discussion about why retail media
networks are “the next big thing” for retail organizations. Selling ads is a far
more profitable venture than selling products, and retailers have captive
audiences to monetize. How can your business get into media network space, and
do so successfully? Pick up tips in this session from industry experts that are
well-versed in how to manage a retail media network.
The final panel includes 2022 Top Women in Retail honorees:

* Marianne Thompson, Chief Merchandising Officer, Home Hardware Stores Limited
* Catherine Morisano, Chief Merchandising Officer, rue21
These 2022 Top Women in Retail honorees were chosen based on several criteria,
including position within their retail organizations, scope of responsibility
within those positions, career achievements, involvement within the retail
industry, and more. During an engaging and interactive conversation, they will
share their wisdom on a variety of business strategy and professional
development topics.
