IT DEPENDS ON THE REGION YOU WORK. NORMALLY, THE BASE SALARY IS AROUND
1.000€/MO, AND WITH SHIFTS, GOES TO 2.000€. SALARY INCREASES EACH YEAR.

2.6.2. What type of contracts are there? How long are the working and on-calls
times?

TRAINING PROGRAMMES ARE FROM 4 TO 5 YEARS. EACH YEAR YOU MUST SIGN A NEW
CONTRACT.

2.6.3. Are sick leave, vacation days, maternity leave, voluntary work allowed
and do they entail a reduction of salary?

YES YOU HAVE RIGHT TO SICK LEAVE, VACATION DAYS AND MATERNITY LEAVE, NONE OF

AT THE END OF EACH YEAR A REPORT IS DELIVERED IN WHICH ALL THE ACTIVITIES
CARRIED OUT DURING THE YEAR ARE INCLUDED. IN ADDITION, EACH QUARTER YOU SHOULD

IT DEPENDS ON THE YEAR AND ITS CONVOCATORY. APPROXIMATELY AROUND 6800.

3.3. What are the success, training drop-out and post-training employment rates?

THE SUCCESS OF OUR PROGRAMMES IS REALLY HIGH - AROUND 90%, THE TRAINING DROP-OUT
RATE IS AROUND 5-10% (DEPENDING ON THE SPECIALTY) AND THE POST-TRAINING
EMPLOYMENT RATES ARE 70-90%, DEPENDING AGAIN ON THE SPECIALTY.

NO IF HE/SHE IS FROM ANY EUROPEAN COUNTRY. BUT IF HE/SHE IS FROM A NON EUROPEAN

IT IS NECESSARY TO CONTACT DIRECTLY WITH THE HOSPITAL THE TRAINEE WANTS TO GO.
DEPENDING ON THE HOSPITAL THEY ASK YOU FOR DETERMINED INFORMATION.

THE GENERAL PERSPECTIVE ON IMMIGRATION OF MEDICAL TRAINEES TO SPAIN IS
OVERARCHINGLY POSITIVE, HOWEVER, THE SIGNIFICANT DIFFICULTY AND WORK REQUIRED TO
ENTER TRAINING FOR CERTAIN SPECIALIZATIONS CAN CREATE A SENSE OF UNJUSTNESS IF
DIFFICULT TO ACHIEVE POSITIONS ARE ACCEPTING AN ABUNDANCE OF FOREIGN TRAINEES.

to foreign countries?

Medical trainees are appreciative of the opportunity to train in a foreign
country, especially if can be advantageous for their curriculum.

DOCTORS IN SPAIN AND CAN AID WITH EMPLOYMENT MATTERS. ALSO DOCTORS UNIONS CAN
HELP IN THIS MATTER.
