THE BAD GUYS MOVIE REVIEW COMPARISON

If you’re a parent, you’ve probably had your fair proportion of anthropomorphic
animal films that ask kids to root for “the dangerous guys.” The problem with
such morality plays is that the villains are conceived and carried out with such
lip-smacking relish that the nominal hero looks as if a simpering bore by
comparison. ซีรี่ย์จีน โรแมนติก of that perennial imbalance, this bouncy debut
from French animator Pierre Perifel will get lots of value out of an obvious
excessive concept, centering a bunch of supposedly evil criminal animals as
chummy, lovable crime-fighters.

The Bad Guys are a notoriously larcenous gang of anthropomorphic critters
including smooth-talking pickpocket wolf Mr. Wolf (Sam Rockwell), sinuous
safecracker Mr. Snake (Maron), speedily nimble-limbed laptop hacker Ms.
Tarantula (Awkwafina) and splenetic sharp-toothed loose-cannon piranha Mr. Shark
(Craig Robinson). After a string of front-page heists, the gang, led by their
patronizing mentor Professor Marmalade, a guinea pig who’s a wet do-gooder
played with a passive-aggressive whine by Richard Ayoade, is caught red-handed
at an upscale gala and agree to attempt to show themselves in to dodge a stretch
in jail.

Loosely primarily based on a sequence of Scholastic children’s graphic novels by
Aaron Blabey, this sharply scripted and propulsively directed cartoon whizzes
via its story with the kind of zippy pace and visual punch that’s extra typical
of adult-oriented animated fare. The characters all transfer with distinct
silhouettes and movements, making them look a world away from the generic CG
animation that sometimes emerges from the studio system.

A snazzy, jazzy orchestral rating also helps the film stand out from the pack of
animated offerings, lending The Bad Guys an unmistakably brisk tone. And while
the film often bogs down with overly familiar scenes and jokes, it by no means
succumbs to tedium.

One cause for that's the outstanding voice solid, which incorporates Rockwell,
Marc Maron, Awkwafina and Craig Robinson in addition to Richard Ayoade, whose
grating whine brings a welcome dose of snark to his character. The different is
the movie’s dazzling animation, which eschews the sort of photorealistic fashion
that sometimes adorns DreamWorks productions in favor of a more stylized method
that’s much closer to conventional hand-drawn comedian art. This offers it a
extra handmade feel that’s refreshing in an era when computer-generated
animation is all too often suffering from its overbearing artificiality.

With brilliant visuals, a gleeful palette and trendy animation strategies that
rival these of Pixar and Disney, the Bad Guys offers a smart-witted,
surprisingly charming heist film for youths and adults alike. That mentioned,
it’s onerous to shake the feeling that there’s just too much of this indie
gangster flick, and that its premise should have yielded a lot more meatier
materials. Still, youngsters forgo all sense of logic in the title of a good
snort, and even adults deserve more than uninspired dreck. The Bad Guys proves
that time with aplomb. four out of 5 stars. Rated PG for delicate violence,
sexual references and language. Running time: 93 minutes..
