Period Correct Reproductions

EARLY FORD RADIATORS

Ford put “America on wheels” and The Brassworks makes the most authentic early
Ford reproduction radiators available. Whether you are an active driver or show
your car we have a reproduction radiator to suit your needs.

WHAT WE MAKE

We fabricate and restore radiators for classic cars from the brass era to mid
1970s muscle cars.  We make radiators for vintage race cars, early airplanes,
rare tractors and military vehicles.  We construct obsolete heater cores and
copper alternatives to modern aluminum.  We make custom steel and brass fan
shrouds, speedster gas tanks and even contract produce heat exchangers for
industrial applications.  We specialize in cores too; honeycomb, film cores,
flared cartridge cores, tubes with wire spacing, round tube cores from McCord,
spiral finned tube cores and coin on tube cores.  If there is a need we'll make
it.

DIFFERENT RADIATORS FOR DIFFERENT SITUATIONS

REPRODUCTIONS

A reproduction radiator is a drop in replacement designed for the stock engine
without significant modification.  We fabricate based on a pattern provided to
us or one that we have collected along the way and we aim to construct a replica
to rival the OE in appearance while still improving the cooling ability.

RESTORATIONS

Some of our customers want aftermarket parts used as an absolute last resort.
It may be that the original parts e.g. castings, machined necks, die stamped
tanks and embossed logos are difficult or costly to fabricate anew or it may be
that the owner simply prefers OE parts on their classic vehicle.  We build it
how you want it.

BESPOKE & CUSTOM

Custom radiators are designed in collaboration with you the customer.  We design
for the chop and channel.  We add cooling capacity for modern engines and can
polish, patina, emboss logos, waterjet reliefs or simply move connections around
to match your current engine's design.

What is the status of my order?

Please realize that little happens for most of the time your radiator order is
in the build queue.  The core may be made and some parts may be made but most
builds parts are fabricated and the radiators are constructed, tested and
painted in around 3-4 days.

We don't mind status inquiries via email but in the amazon
instant-gratification-now world that we live in now some people need frequent
verbal updates.  Repeatedly calling stops production on other equally important
customer's radiator so we may estimate the time on everything in front of yours
to guess a date of work start   Repeatedly calling us will result in us adding
this lost work time to your invoice.

Can I change my order?

We can only change orders that have not been built.

To make changes to your order, please reach out to support by submitting your
request via "contact us" form.

RE: Canceled orders
We pay a 3% transactional fee when you use your credit card.  If you change your
mind, sell your car or simply can't wait for us to build the made-to-order
product and need to cancel your order then this fee will be deducted from your
refund.  Why? because we pay it either way and since we have no sale to offset
the cost and we are not a charity, you pay for changing your mind.

Do you accept returns?

We make to order.  If its custom bespoke item, then we regret that we cannot
accept returns.

If it is a standard item re-saleable item e.g. you would receive it yourself as
a new item with out question than we can accept it as uninstalled new and
saleable then yes.

However, if you damage the paint drill a bunch of holes change your engine etc.
and we have to make it re-salable then we correct the damage at a shop rate and
refund you the balance.

Before you do anything to stock radiator inspect it.

What does shipping cost?

This map illustrate the prices across the country for larger radiator boxes and
smaller heater core boxes.  Our website freight calculator struggles to
correctly assess freight costs when we ship large and small items together e.g.
a radiator with draincock.  The result is inflated freight costs.  We simply
adjust the costs when we get actual freights because, as inconvenient as this
is, its better than employing a millenial coder to fix it.

Where do you ship?

We ship everywhere.

If you are in Alaska Hawaii, the US Territories or overseas we search out the
cheapest (but safest) options.

If you are overseas and need us to ship to a consolidator at a port, we can do
that and label the goods for export.

If you are in Canada and need it shipped to a nearby receiver we can do that
too.

How long will it take to build my order?

Present lead times

How do I add or remove products after placing my order?

Once you have placed your order you will not be able to make modifications on
the website.
Please contact our customer support team through 'contact us' form for any
modification of the order.  We can change it and re-bill or credit.

Can I change my delivery address after I have placed my order?

If your order has not been shipped yet, then we can deliver to a different
address as per your request.  If your item has shipped we can re-route with the
carrier and you are responsible for the fees.

Is it safe to use my credit/debit card at this website?

We use third-party payment processing services to process all credit/debit card
payment transactions. These payment intermediaries are PCI-compliant, which is
the most stringent level of certification standard that ensures all cardholders’
data is stored, processed, and transmitted securely by using the
industry-standard encryption technology.

Is there a warranty?

Yes.  Here is the link to the Warranty page

How do I contact customer service?

Its best to email through the contact us page

Can I just buy the core?

Yes - Please email a sketch with the height, width and depth of the core.
Please provide the dimensions of the top and bottom headers information on the
headers.

For film cores, please visit the website and reference the name of the pattern
or make a pencil rubbing of the core and photograph it send  a photograph of the
pattern.
