A SURPRISING UPDATE FROM KING CHARLES’ HOSPITAL AFTER KATE MIDDLETON’S MEDICAL
FILES WERE BREACHED

By Lea Veloso,

Business as usual. King Charles’ medical files were not breached alongside Kate
Middleton’s at a London hospital. The breach comes weeks after Kate Middleton’s
surgery and King Charles’ diagnosis.

What Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Know About Kate Middleton's Surgery

Daily Mail was the first to report that Charles’ files were not involved when a
staff member of the London Clinic tried to access Kate’s files. A source told
The Mirror that the hospital was shocked about a staff member trying to access
Kate Middleton’s medical records. “This is a major security breach and
incredibly damaging for the hospital, given its unblemished reputation for
treating members of the Royal Family,” the source said. “Senior hospital bosses
contacted Kensington Palace immediately after the incident was brought to their
attention and assured the palace there would be a full investigation. The whole
medical staff have been left utterly shocked and distraught over the allegations
and were very hurt that a trusted colleague could have possibly been responsible
for such a breach of trust and ethics.”

In a statement, the hospital told the UK-based publication : “We firmly believe
that all our patients, no matter their status, deserve total privacy and
confidentiality regarding their medical information.”

The London Clinic’s CEO Al Russell told People, “Everyone at The London Clinic
is acutely aware of our individual, professional, ethical and legal duties with
regards to patient confidentiality. We take enormous pride in the outstanding
care and discretion we aim to deliver for all our patients that put their trust
in us every day. We have systems in place to monitor management of patient
information and, in the case of any breach, all appropriate investigatory,
regulatory and disciplinary steps will be taken. There is no place at our
hospital for those who intentionally breach the trust of any of our patients or
colleagues.”

In January 2024, King Charles was admitted to a hospital for a routine procedure
to treat an enlarged prostate. But less than two weeks after the operation,
Buckingham Palace announced that doctors discovered the monarch had “a form of
cancer ” following additional tests. “His Majesty has today commenced a schedule
of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to
postpone public-facing duties,” the palace shared in a statement on February 5,
2024. “Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State
business and official paperwork as usual.”
