BerryhillPosted on October 9, 20210 Comments3min read0 views Nintendo Switch Online, which will soon have an expansion with games from the Nintendo 64 era and Mega Drive, has a private library of classic NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) and SNES games for its subscribers. While the service doesn’t have a zone lock, some addresses only debut halfway around the world for Japanese accounts – with the language fully localized to Japanese, of course, making it difficult for them to access. the rest of the global audience. Discover some classic games exclusive to the Japanese Nintendo Switch Online: SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI (SNES) A reissue of the popular Demons saga was released in 1992 for the Super Nintendo, resulting in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo and a computer program capable of talking to demons. The game is a classic these days and has only appeared on Switch as well as in Japan. SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI II (SNES) The sequel to SMT 1 is also on Nintendo’s Japanese service. Released in 1994, the game is still similar to the first in its gameplay, and this time it takes place decades later in the millennial city of Tokyo. The gameplay features classic elements of current games, such as recruiting demons and the ability to combine them into more powerful fighters. History has a strong influence on a player’s decisions, altering the moral alignment of each choice throughout the journey. SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI SI… (SNES) This is the title that will launch the series we know today as Persona. As the name suggests, SMT If I imagined a scenario where the first events of Shin Megami would not have happened. Bringing in previously created items from the franchise, the story follows the Karukozaka school into the demon world, after an unsuccessful attempt to summon it. FIRE EMBLEM: SHADOW DRAGON AND BLADE OF LIGHT (NES) The first entry in the Fire Emblem saga retained a Japanese exclusive for 30 years until it sold out in the English eShop between December 2020 and March 2021. Today the game remains free and exclusive to services Japanese Nintendo Switch Online. The first game in this incredible franchise follows Prince Mareth on his journey to regain the throne of his kingdom after exile. The game features many playable characters, each with their own unique gameplay, as well as 25 chapters of this fantastic classic. FIRE EMBLEM: THE SECRET OF THE EMBLEM (SNES) The third game in the series, being the first to reach Super Nintendo, was released in 1994 and it features a remake of the first title, as well as a sequel to the story that follows Marth’s confrontation with his old friend, now in the established re-universe of Archanea. FIRE EMBLEM: A GENEALOGY OF THE HOLY WAR (SNES) The fourth title in the Fire Emblem franchise was released in 1996 with a new story, this time set on the continent of Jugdral, after two different generations: one with Prince Sigurd and the second with his son Seliph. The gameplay follows its predecessors with a few additions that improve the existing gameplay. FAMICOM WARS (FAMICOM / NES) A quirky game that did not please Western audiences, mainly due to the lack of porting and release outside of Japan. It is part of the Nintendo Wars series, which still has a large number of fans in the land of the rising sun. Perhaps with the release of the Advance Wars 1 + 2 remake, which will arrive on Switch soon, the series will gain recognition outside of the East. Review: Davey Souza Source link Share By Daryl T. BerryhillPosted on October 8, 20210 Comments3min read0 views The Nintendo Switch is apparently very hot right now – so hot it’s in the kitchen. Bon Appétit, the New York-based cooking magazine / website / business YouTube that faced criticism in 2020 after allegations of a toxic and racist environment, has slowly built its site after a ton of their talents Keys left in protest – and part of that apparently includes the expansion into video games. How dare they. Avalle isn’t wrong – the food in games is usually a means to an end, something that heals you or keeps you surviving a bit longer. “Almost universally,” Avalle says, “it feels like video game developers regard food as food and nothing more, dooming their characters to exist on pixelated meal replacement bars and nutritional shakes.” Even though we’re all game writers, not food writers, it’s hard to disagree. Writer Nico Avalle mainly covers food, with articles like “The 69 Best Thanksgiving Recipes” (cool) and “What is crab paste, anyway?” but a few days ago they published an article titled “4 Nintendo Switch Games For Food Lovers” – a list that included examples of games that “get it right” when it comes to portraying food. . Well, for “Cooperative Kitchen Chaos” the recommendation of course is to play one of the bright and stressful Overcooked games: If it’s more of a farm-to-table thing you’re looking for, look no further than Stardew Valley, says Avalle: “After about 15 minutes you will find yourself using cooking jargon for convenience: ‘Hot behind! I said as I walked past my friend with a saucepan. “You call that a julienne, you fucking ass?” she said, checking my skills with a knife. How funny! “ “Want to breed goats to produce award-winning goat? You can do it. Do you dream of owning a vineyard by the river? You can do this too. Want to channel Gerald Stratford and get started growing massive pumpkins and other big veggies? You can and absolutely must do it. Avalle describes The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as a “forager fantasy” with all of its mushrooms, fruits, and animals waiting to be turned into steak, but notes that BOTW’s greatest skill is to encourage curiosity. by food: “Where BotW sets itself apart from other adventure games, culinary speaking, is that food is not only an essential tool for survival, but it is also a driver for more exploration. While hunting wild boar in the forest, you may come across a bushel of spicy peppers. Cooked in a dish, these offer Link resistance to frostbite, allowing you to explore the frozen peaks without damage. There you might find an herb with a cooling effect, giving you access to scorching deserts, where another new ingredient might point you in another new direction. Besides making us incredibly hungry, this article makes us think: if Bon Appétit can write on Nintendo Switch, does that mean we can write about food? We certainly have the qualifications – most of us eat at least three times a day! BerryhillPosted on October 8, 20210 Comments1min read0 views X Sometimes we’re just left scratching our heads at who anime get video game adaptations or not and this is definitely one of those times. Especially since a monumental company like Bandai Namco Entertainment is in the driver’s seat of development. Yet it looks like Pui Pui Molcar: Come on! Since many western anime fans won’t recognize it, Pui Pui Mulcar is the third best children’s anime of all time according to MyAnimeList. BerryhillPosted on October 7, 20210 Comments7min read0 views Four years after its release, the Nintendo Switch is still as powerful as ever. The line was recently joined by an OLED model, while those on a budget can purchase the Nintendo Switch Lite. Devices are a popular way to tap into a wide selection of games on the go. There are of course limits with graphics capabilities, storage space, and delicate Joy-Cons. But if you know where to look, there are some hidden Switch features that can enhance your gaming sessions. Check them out below. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TURN ON YOUR TV It’s time to ditch that TV remote. Your Switch can turn on your smart TV when it is connected to the docking station; just press the power button on the Joy-Con. Not a fan? Go to System Settings> TV Settings> TV Power State Matching and set it to Off. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACTIVATE DARK MODE Everyone loves a good dark mode. If you’re sick of the Switch’s home menu blinds you at night, head over to System settings> Themes and select Basic black. The home screen and all menu pages will adopt a black color theme, although the games themselves will remain unchanged. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SAVE BATTERY LIFE The original Switch has a battery life of 2.5 to 6.5 hours, while the updated version released in 2019, as well as the OLED model, last between 4.5 and 9 hours. The Switch Lite, on the other hand, has between 3 and 7 hours of battery life before needing a recharge. However, you can take these numbers a step further by changing the time it takes for the console to go into sleep mode. Under System settings> Sleep mode, select Auto standby (play on console screen) and choose how long the Switch should wait before turning off the screen. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- REMAP THOSE BUTTONS A more recent update to the Switch ecosystem allows you to remap your controller’s buttons to a more preferred layout. You can do this by navigating to System Settings> Controllers and Sensors> Edit Button Mapping, where you can remap both Joy-Cons and the Pro controller. Select a controller and you can change the action of each button or reverse the orientation of the joystick for a more comfortable gaming experience. Each Joy-Con’s button input can be changed for vertical and horizontal play. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ARCHIVE GAMES YOU DON’T PLAY The Switch has a lot to offer, but storage space isn’t one of its strong points. The LCD switch comes with 32 GB of disk space, which also includes the operating system. The OLED model grows up to 64GB, but it’s still easy to run out of room if most of your games are digital downloads. A simple solution is to archive games you no longer play to free up hard drive space (but keep your game saves). Do this from the main menu by highlighting a game and pressing the button. + button, then selecting Management software> Archiving software from the drop-down menu. You can also archive the software under System settings> Data management, Then choose Quick archiving for suggestions on which games to archive, based on file size and recent playing time. Click on Manage software instead of having a free range to choose what you want. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INSERT A MICROSD CARD Unlike Sony’s PlayStation Vita, which required expensive proprietary memory cards, the Switch supports microSD cards from third parties like Samsung, SanDisk, and Toshiba. We recommend that you get a card that is at least twice the size of your Switch’s internal storage. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MOVE GAME DATA If you are using a microSD card to expand your system storage, you can move game data between the system and the microSD at any time, as long as there is enough space. Go in System settings> Data management and select Move data between system / microSD card. Select the desired destination, then select the games you want to move and press Move data. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SAVE A COOL MOMENT Although the system does not have the capacity to record significant amounts of gameplay, you can still capture short videos. Hold the capture button and the Switch will record your last 30 seconds of gaming. It’s just enough to save a really cool moment for posterity. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SEND SCREENSHOTS TO YOUR PHONE The Switch makes it easy to capture images in-game, but it’s not the best for letting you share those images. For a while, all you could do was send the images to Facebook and Twitter, but now your phone is an option as well. To send a screenshot to your phone, you will need to open the image on your Switch, press A for it. Sharing and Editing menu, then choose Send to Smartphone. From there, you’ll need to scan a QR code with your phone to wirelessly connect the two devices. Once the connection is established, scan the second code to open a web page with your image inside. This image can then be saved to your device and used as desired. Back in the days when we were using this feature, it turned out to be a tricky process; Your mileage may vary. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TRANSFER BACKUP DATA If you have multiple Switch consoles, backup data can be moved from one system to another. To do this, go to System settings> Users> Transfer your user and save data. You can also highlight individual games, press the key. + button your controller and go to Manage the software> Transfer your backup data menu. You will need another Switch on the same Wi-Fi network, and both must be connected to a power source. Once the process is complete, the game file will be deleted from the original Switch and migrate to the new Switch. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GET MORE BACKUP FILES Many Switch games only support one save file at a time. This means that if you want, for example, to start over with Breath of the Wild, you will have to delete your previous save file. However, there is a workaround that allows you to keep multiple save files for these types of games. The switch is configured so that the backup files are linked to specific user profiles. This means that you can create multiple user profiles and each will have its own backup data linked to it. To create a new user profile, go to System Settings> Users> Add Users. Now, when you start a game, you will be able to choose between your different user accounts, and each will have its own save data. RECOMMENDED BY OUR EDITORS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FIND THE LOST JOY-CONS The Switch’s Joy-Con controllers are great, but they’re small and easy to lose. Fortunately, the Switch has a built-in way to locate Joy-Cons in the immediate area. Move towards Controllers> Find Controllers and it will show all the controllers linked to your console. Highlight the missing Joy-Con and press the L or R button on the one you need to vibrate. If you’re missing both controllers, tap the touchscreen to vibrate each Joy-Con. Hopefully this will allow you to locate the missing controller between the sofa cushions. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PRE-ORDER MADE EASY Have you pre-ordered a lot of games through the eShop? Nintendo now allows you to follow them all and cancel the ones you no longer want. Go to your account page in Nintendo eShop and select Your pre-orders to see all current pre-orders. You can cancel from this page as long as there is more than a week left before the game is released. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE With a $ 20 annual Nintendo Switch Online membership, you get exclusive access to NES and Super NES classics, games like Pac-Man 99 and Tetris 99, online multiplayer, and cloud saves. You can purchase a subscription in the eShop window under the Nintendo Switch online tab, which then becomes your gateway to special offers and compatible games. Cloud backups can then be managed under System Settings> Data Management> Save Data Cloud. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAKE A MII Mii avatars are still alive and on Switch. Move towards System Settings> Mii> Create / Edit Mii, and you will be able to create your own character, which is no longer limited by natural hair colors. You can create one from scratch or choose a randomly generated avatar. Like on the Wii, your Mii can actually be used in-game with certain titles. For example, you can transform your Mii into a fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate by customizing a Mii Fighter, Mii Swordfighter or Mii Gunner. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAKE NEW FRIENDS Nintendo uses unique character strings, called Friend Codes, to connect you with other Switch users for games and social activities. If you want someone to add you as a friend, give them your Friend Code. You can find yours if you select your user profile in the upper left corner and open Profile. Your friend code will be listed next to your user icon. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- USE YOUR AMIIBOS Do you remember the Amiibos? Introduced for the Wii U, these popular little Nintendo character statuettes can be digitized into your console for enjoyable in-game content. The correct Joy-Con and Pro controller come with built-in NFC touchpoints, so all you need to do is tap the Amiibo to a controller and enjoy it. If you’re wondering which amiibos work with which games, Nintendo has a database everything you can use with the Switch. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INITIATE A HARD RESET If your Switch starts giving you trouble, fix it with a hard reset. Suppose you try to download a software update, but the screen freezes. Simply hold down the system power button for 10 to 15 seconds and the console should reset. For a complete factory reset, go to System Settings> System> Formatting Options> Initialize Console and delete all memory from the console. BerryhillPosted on October 7, 20210 Comments2min read0 views The release of a highly anticipated Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite game has been delayed. In two days, Terror Metroid, one of Nintendo Switch’s big vacation releases, is going to drop. Fortunately, for Metroid fans, this release has not been delayed. What has been delayed is the release of Gang of beasts, which was finally due to arrive on Switch and Switch Lite via the Nintendo eShop tomorrow, October 7. However, this no longer happens. Now the game is released five days later on October 12. Announcing the delay, developer Boneloaf noted that it boils down to “some unforeseen jam,” which is probably another way of saying an unforeseen problem. Judging from the delay, this problem is apparently minor, but whatever it is, it is not disclosed, which in turn suggests that it is irrelevant to the consumer. Gang of beasts burst onto the scene in 2014 via Early Access. The game’s chaotic co-op gameplay, which is both entertaining and hilarious, quickly gained ground on the internet, in part thanks to the many streamers playing the game and the many Let’s Play-style videos that dominated YouTube in 2014 to promote it. That said, by the time the game fully released on PC and PS4 in December 2017, its moment was largely over. Since then, in 2019, it arrived on Xbox One, and now it’s finally coming to Nintendo Switch. As you may know, the Switch port was not announced until August, but many Nintendo fans have been waiting to get their hands on the title for years. “Gang of beasts is a silly multiplayer board game with snappy gelatinous characters, brutal combat sequences and absurd dangerous environments, set in the wicked streets of Beef City, “reads an official blurb on the game.” Customize your character and fight local and online enemies in melee game mode or fight with friends against Beef City gangs in gang game mode. “ For more information on all things Nintendo Switch, including all the latest news, rumors, leaks, speculations, and offers, click here or, failing that, the relevant and recent links listed below: Source link Share By Daryl T. BerryhillPosted on October 6, 2021October 6, 20210 Comments4min read0 views Image Credit: Kris Naudus / Engadget Along with this new display are a bunch of minor tweaks that don’t seem like much when considered individually, but overall they really make the experience better. Most notable is the new support on the back. The original Switch’s is small and about the width of a finger, with only two positions: open and closed. The one on my original launch unit no longer locks in the ‘closed’ position and tends to collapse when playing in portable mode. It also comes off completely if you look at it funny. Support for the OLED Switch is a whole different beast. Instead of a small, thin strip, it’s now a Microsoft Surface-style panel that extends across the back of the entire unit, with real hinges that can be left in any number of positions. so that you can now place your unit at the angle you prefer. I wouldn’t try to take this thing off; the hinges are actually molded into the plastic so if you break it it will have to go to the Nintendo repair shop to fix it. Kris Naudus / Engadget To accommodate the new bracket, a bunch of things have been moved to the back of the Switch unit. The logo is now printed on the backing itself, so it has been moved to the lower half of the back. Manufacturing information, such as part number and voltage, is now printed in black on the black plastic, below the backing. So it’s doubly hidden – a subtle but welcome improvement. The rear speakers have been moved to the lower edge of the unit, where they also serve to pull out the bracket. It’s actually very thoughtful, while providing clear gaming sound and minimizing system noise. And, although the microSD was not completely moved, it is now placed parallel to the bottom edge. I’m assuming this small change is to prevent users from accidentally removing the card when trying to adjust the holder. The only thing that hasn’t been moved is the USB-C port at the bottom, so you still can’t charge it in tabletop mode. Kris Naudus / Engadget There are fewer changes to the top edge of the device, most notable being a redesign of the buttons resulting in longer and thinner power and volume switches. The new buttons aren’t any easier to hit, but they look more stylish and feel better under my fingers thanks to the textured plastic of the OLED Switch. The system is actually just more comfortable to hold now, like when it kept sweat from building up under my sweaty hands during a particularly stressful boss fight in Terror Metroid. Kris Naudus / Engadget Because the OLED Switch must be compatible with all existing accessories, this means that the unit is the same height and width as the original model. The Joy-Con haven’t been redesigned, but I hope the infamous “Joy-Con drift” has been stamped out by now. The new black and white color scheme is very nice, a step up from my all-gray launch unit in terms of styling. If you like a more playful color scheme, the OLED Switch can also be purchased with Red and Blue Joy-Cons, or you can trade in any other Joy-Cons you want. But whites don’t scratch as easily as other shades, so they’ll look chic for longer. The only change in the dimensions of the system is the weight, thanks to the OLED display. When you handle the original and the new Switch side by side, the difference is undeniable. But that’s not a big enough gap to make the OLED Switch less portable in any way. Subjectively, it may seem a bit lighter, perhaps because the weight is distributed well. The only thing about the build that feels like a step forward is that the OLED model has a tiny bit of flex in the middle of the back panel that isn’t present in the original. However, that doesn’t make much of a difference to build quality, unless you plan to put a hammer on the back of the device. Kris Naudus / Engadget Since the system retains the same internal components, this means that the battery has also remained unchanged. It’s the same as the refreshed battery from 2019, which offers between four and nine hours of battery life from the launch unit’s six-hour cap. However, the new OLED is expected to be more power efficient than the LCD screen, and in use it appears to be. I have almost seven hours of Terror Metroid before getting the “low battery” warning at 15%, and this is a game that frequently uses vibration. Compare that to the four or five hours I tend to spend from my OG Switch, even when playing something quite tame like Animal crossing Where Untitled Goose Game. If you already have an existing switch, you can drop the OLED model into your current docking station and it will work just fine. But the system comes with its own redesigned dock that you might want to configure. It’s much prettier thanks to the rounded corners and shiny black plastic on the inside (which, admittedly, will likely get scratched over time). The back panel isn’t great, as it’s fragile and can come off completely (so you might lose it). But all of this is offset by the significant addition of an Ethernet port. BerryhillPosted on October 5, 2021October 6, 20210 Comments2min read0 views BLUETOOTH AUDIO TRACKING So the Switch has been out for four years now. Four years! And during that time, we’ve received a myriad of “stability” updates that don’t do anything for us. But recently there was a glimmer of promise. Bluetooth audio device firmware! It was a ray of hope that one day we might receive some of our most wanted Switch requests. So what’s the next big Switch improvement you’d like to see? For me, the answer is obvious: the files. I think if I could pick just one thing to wave my magic wand and tune in, it would be records. Pretty much every gaming UI has them now, and given that they were great from the last generation, it’s time for Nintendo to jump into the program. In fact, I would extend this concept of “a big improvement to the Switch” further and extend that wish to the entire UI. Listen, I find the Switch UI to be straightforward. I wouldn’t change that for the most part, as I know people like it over the PC OS-like presentation of its competition. This is especially useful, in portable mode, to access things at a glance. But it would be nice to get more real functionality with this UI. What about extended social features? We all miss the Miiverse and it won’t be returning, but something even at a similar distance would be fantastic. Now that they finally have a smartphone app, there is so much potential to add more social aspects to it, albeit in a safe and Nintendo-worthy way. I can go on and on. Thus I’ll go. What about the actual optional themes? Nintendo sort of ditched even the concept of color change. Or some custom UI icon manipulation? No, I don’t think I really need the Switch Online button you introduced, thanks. Or what about better search options for the eShop menu? Or a better playtime tracker (remember those from previous systems)? All of this is optional content that will enhance many user experiences, without interfering with people who like things the way they are. I don’t think we’ll have them all by the time the Switch is grazed afterwards. But we could have several! How about ringing the bell and giving Nintendo some ideas.
