Polperro Estate wines are produced from our own vineyards on the Mornington Peninsula, individual parcels are blended to create our estate cuvées resulting in something far beyond the sum of their parts. + Polperro Wine – Est. 2009 – Single Vineyard & Estate Grown Wines from the Mornington Peninsula Sam speaks of the individual vineyard sites like a parent speaks of their children: delighting in their unique traits, playing to their strengths, realising their potential, celebrating their triumphs. This superior tacit understanding of site, combined with precision in the winery create wines of character and with a true sense of place. Of the nine vineyards we own and manage on the Mornington Peninsula, five produce our single vineyard wines. Such is the diversity of the region – picking times can vary between sites by up to six weeks within a few minutes drive yet each benefit from the moderating maritime influence. That cooling sea breeze maintaining the perfume and freshness critical to producing world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. EVEN KEEL Cultivating trusted relationships with select growers, Even Keel is a label-at-large. Our edit of cool climate regions of Australia celebrates their individual strengths. + Even Keel – Est. 2006 – Select Regions Even Keel celebrates the individual strengths of cool climate regions of Australia. Each region is selected for having the optimum conditions to suit specific varieties, such as Pinot Gris from the Mornington Peninsula, Syrah from the Canberra District, Chardonnay from Tumbarumba and Shiraz from Heathcote. With a long history of trusted working relationships, Sam selects growers with the utmost care. Every aspect of the growing—from pruning, canopy management and harvesting—is overseen. At harvest, the fruit is carefully hand-picked and transferred to our Polperro winery on the Mornington Peninsula to be vinified and matured. Here the same care and dedication is shown to these selected parcels of fruit as to the wines of the Polperro label. The resulting wines are true expressions of their region.
