FLEXIBLE POINT REDEMPTION RATES

Starting March 2022, Hotel categories (1-8) and Redemption Rates classified as
Off-Peak, Peak, or Standard will be replaced with Flexible Point Redemption
Rates. That means the amount of Marriott Bonvoy® Points needed to redeem a Stay
will be more flexible and will more closely align with Hotel Rates — based on
availability, seasonality, etc. If you’re traveling somewhere with a lot of
availability, you can expect to use fewer Marriott Bonvoy® Points. And if the
destination you love is busier during your preferred dates, the redemption
amount may increase.

Are Hotel Categories going away?

Yes. Hotels will no longer use the category chart. Standard, Peak, and Off-peak
redemption levels will also be going away in favor of Flexible Point Redemption
Rates.

When a Marriott Bonvoy® Member cancels a Reservation that was booked with Points
or a Free Night Certificate, will the member receive their points/certificate
back?

Yes, if a Reservation booked with Marriott Bonvoy® Points or a Free Night Award
certificate is cancelled, the points/certificate will be immediately returned to
the member's Marriott Bonvoy® Account. 
Please note: If the Reservation is not cancelled within the hotel cancellation
policy terms, a penalty fee may result.

Will modifications to Reservations affect Marriott Bonvoy® Point amounts?

Yes. Similar to today, when you modify a Reservation, it may impact the Marriott
Bonvoy® Points needed to redeem the Stay, which may go up or down depending on
the dates.

What if a Marriott Bonvoy® Member sees a lower redemption Rate after booking
their Reservation?

There is no change to the current redemption process. Similar to today, you can
lock in your Rate on a redemption stay by booking now and our flexible
cancellation policy will allow you to modify your Reservation if you find a
lower rate in the future.

Will we still have PointSavers™?

Yes. PointSavers™ will continue to be a rate offered by participating hotels.

Will we still have Cash & Points?

Yes, Cash & Points will continue to be offered and can be viewed on the hotel
website when searching "Book with Points."  See  How Do I Make a Cash + Points

Will we still have Premium Redemptions with points and cash?  

Yes. Members will still be able to redeem Marriott Bonvoy® Points for the
standard portion of the Room and use cash for the upgrade.

Will Redemption Rates vary or how does this impact Redemption Rates?

Point Redemption Rates could vary based on the Hotel as well as the stay dates
depending on availability.

What information will be available to compare hotels?

Both Hotel Rates and Marriott Bonvoy® Points needed for redemption will be
displayed to help Members shop for the property that best matches their
interests and needs. Hotels will continue to display property and Room images
along with amenity lists for comparison. Additionally, many properties also have
customer reviews and ratings on their hotel websites.

Does this change how I use points to redeem at All-Inclusive resorts?

No, Marriott Bonvoy® Points can still be used to redeem Stays at All-Inclusive
by Marriott Bonvoy® resorts.  Redemption reservations at All-Inclusive
Hotels are available for single or double occupancy.

Does this change how I use Marriott Bonvoy® Points to redeem at Homes & Villas
by Marriott International?

No, Marriott Bonvoy® Points can still be used to redeem Stays at Homes & Villas
by Marriott International

Will this change lead to fewer award nights available?

No. Award nights will continue to be available as they always have been and we
will continue to offer our Limited Blackout Dates policy.  (See Section 3.2.n
Terms and Conditions)

Will it now cost me more Marriott Bonvoy® Points to redeem?

While an award night can still be booked the same way it always has been, the
redemption Rate of an award night is now more flexible. That means when there is
more availability at the Hotel – during slower periods, for instance –
redemption Rates may be lower. In general, the range of Marriott Bonvoy® Points
required to redeem a Stay at a Hotel will be the same as they are today.

Will the Stay 5, Pay for 4 benefit continue with Flexible Redemption?

Yes. Similar to today, Stay 5, Pay for 4 enables members to receive the lowest
point-value night free when using points to book a redemption stay of five
consecutive nights or longer. For more information on this benefit, see What is

FREE NIGHT AWARD TOP OFF

In early 2022, Members will have the opportunity to increase their Free Night
Award by adding up to 15,000 additional Marriott Bonvoy®
Points, expanding the value of the award and possible options across the
portfolio.

Does this change impact my points or certificates?

Your Marriott Bonvoy® Points and certificates remain valid and hold the same
value. 
Free Night Award Top Off (up to 15,000 points) will be available across all Free
Night Awards/Certificates in early 2022. This will allow you to add Marriott
Bonvoy® Points to a Free Night Award certificate. Suite Night Award™ & Free
Night Award policies remain the same at this time.

Can Free Night Award Top Off be used on upgraded Rooms?

Free Night Awards with Top Off will be available for Standard and PointSavers™
redemptions. They are not available for upgraded Rooms.

Will Free Night Award Top Off be available on all FNAs?

Yes. The Top Off (up to 15,000 Marriott Bonvoy® Points) will be available for
all Free Night Award certificates.

Can a Suite Night Award be applied to a Free Night Award Top Off Reservation?

Suite Night Awards™ can be used in conjunction with Free Night Awards with or
