"Mundo de Esportes" A mural by Delgado

Welcome to this site which showcases one of the world's most celebrated sports
artist, Armando Delgado. Delgado, the man behind the brush. With strokes of his
brush Delgado's portraits of the sports world are legendary and his status is
recognized across continents. In many ways Delgado's work reflects Delgado the
man. The paintings are vibrant, action filled, reflective, triumphant, yet
sensitive and revealing. And they extend beyond the sports world. His works have
been exhibited from the White House and shown weekly on a national television
program. His prints and originals are sought after and are in prominent
collections throughout the world. His works include from designing televisions
backsets to designing award winning parade floats. His choices of vary medium
from paintings to sculptures and murals. Though the majority of his subject
matter is in sports he does not set limits on his range of subjects. His
subjects have included private family portraits, wildlife, seascapes and
landscapes. He has been commissioned by famous sport figures such as legendary
boxer, George Foreman and the United States Postal Service. Please enjoy

versatility of talents.

Armando has created 8 portraits showing and including some of the major heroes
of the San Francisco World Series Champions as a tribute to their historical
win! The paintings originally were unveiled at the prestige gallery,
"Mountainsong Gallery", located in Carmel, California. The works were embraced
by the invited guests.

RICKY WATTERS CHARITY GALA


The Gala highlight of this special night was the unveiling of three original
paintings by Delgado. The paintings featured the honor guest legends, NBA Hall
of Famer, DR.J, former Notre Dame coach and sports announcer, Lou Holtz, and the
host, Ricky Watters, Super Bowl Champion running back of the 49ers. All three
works were auctioned with the donations going to Orlando's YMCA Boys and Girls
Club.

"MOVE OVER BOYS!"
Painted before the Preakness race even ran, Delgado captured the finest
racehorse in the country winning the second jewel of the Triple crown. An
exquisite watercolor now available in limited edition prints.

"SEABISCUIT''
Two Time Cy Young and World Series Champion Winner
Shown here after a recent unveiling at AT&T Park is the artist's newest work
featuring San Francisco's outstanding Giant's pitcher, Tim Lincecum. Who was
voted Cy Young winner of 2008 and 2009! 
 
Delgado creation features another Bay Area champion shown in the background,
legendary Seabiscuit. This is Lincecum favorite nickname and was first used to
describe his unusual stretch when he played back in college.
Seabiscuit is one of racing's greatest champions and was  part of the duo race
against War Admiral, the greatest race of last century,  in which Seabiscuit won
by over 4 lengths.

Commissioned by Chef Robert Hesse one of the contestants of HELL'S KITCHEN,
Delgado created an original painting on a official Arron jersey. This one of a
kind work is shown being appreciated and autographed by the great Hall of Famer.
Chef Hesse has now in his collection an unique one of a kind heirloom piece that
can never be duplicate. A masterful entree developed from two artists in their
fields in tribute to one of the greatest baseball figures of all time.

Delgado was selected to paint one of the 15 large 10" inch diameter baseball
sculptures that was put on auction at ATT Park. The funds raised from the
auction were donated to the San Francisco Giant's Community Fund.

An anticipated release of Delgado's newest painting of horse racing's greatest
athlete referred as"Big Red", Secretariat.
 
Originally commissioned by a collector in Canada. This exquisite
acrylic work captures this champion remarkable strengh
and determination which inspired a generation. He's most noted victory occurred
in the Belmont, the final stage of the Triple Crown, in which he won by
demolishing the competition by 31 lenghts!
Coming in 2010 a new movie from Disney on SECRETARIAT!
