TRIGENT RECOGNIZED FOR EXCELLENCE IN ENTERPRISE SOFTWARE BY ZINNOV ZONES ER&D
2020 REPORT

Trigent Software is recognized for its excellence in enterprise software by
Zinnov, a leader in global management and strategy consulting.

In the Zinnov Zones 2020 report that assessed the engineering, research, and
development (ER&D) services of 60 companies globally, Trigent is featured for
its maturity in execution and scalability in Enterprise Software. The
recognition comes in wake of Trigent’s success in building software for Industry
4.0 that has enabled its customers to embrace their digital future.

ENABLING SUPERIOR CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE WITH AN ADA COMPLIANT RETAIL MOBILE APP

The client enables neighborhood retailers worldwide to digitally engage with
their customer base through innovative mobile solutions. The client wanted to
build a mobile app to create a digital connection between consumers and
neighborhood retail outlets. Also, enable online ordering of groceries and
products from neighborhood specialty and retail stores.

Trigent's mobility experts evaluated the client's request and developed a
SaaS-based aggregator retail application.

Trigent developed an Android/ iOS mobile app customized to adhere to the 508 and
American Disabilities Act (ADA) that empowers the differently-abled users to
connect with neighborhood retail and specialty stores conveniently.

A SAAS-BASED REAL-TIME CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

The client provides cloud-based solutions for construction companies and their
ancillary businesses. Their solutions enable architects, engineers, contractors,
and owners (AECO) to collaborate, collect, and organize data on their
construction projects, get daily progress updates, and share reports – all from
a single dashboard.

The client aspired to provide highly granular data and reports on the projects
directly from the site, to its AECO stakeholders. The solution needed to be
intuitive and easy to use for foremen or site supervisors, factor in the rugged
conditions, and be able to work on any mobile device owned by the users.

Trigent developed a SaaS solution that allows Project Managers and Foremen to
track the real-time progress of construction projects on site. The design
incorporates an understanding of the construction site environment and the
solution works regardless of the availability or quality of connectivity. The
cross-platform design enables developers to work on a single code base for both
iOS and Android platforms.

A CLOUD-BASED MOBILE FIELD FORCE MANAGEMENT APPLICATION

A customer-centric road infrastructure service provider recognized for its
commitment to quality and road safety. Their business enables municipalities,
federal, and state governing bodies, and contractors across the U.S to achieve
top-quality road infrastructure that serves the public's dual purposes of safety
and convenience. They wanted to strengthen clients' trust and raise the bar
through transparent updates to their customers.

Trigent designed an integrated, automated cloud application coupled with a
multi-screen mobile experience to suit each persona (construction worker,
foreman, project supervisor, senior management, or the customer). The app was
built for both Android/iOS platforms for the field force. The comprehensive
field force management application features: 360-degree view of work order
management, live tracking, digital data capture, route navigation, instant
alerts, and live notification to field workers.

RESPONSIBLE TESTING & INTELLIGENT AUTOMATION FOR A CLOUD-BASED TMS

The client is a leading provider of cloud-based TMS. They introduced the
industry’s first multimodal TMS offering unlimited rating, booking, and tracking
of Full Truck Load (TL), Less Than Truckload (LTL), and parcel freight. The
client had to architect a solution that integrated data from carrier partners
into a single environment. Also, scale to support individual carrier partners
and diverse customer business needs.

Trigent designed & developed custom APIs for the client TMS (over 250 to date).
Also, built a test automation strategy that covered the key business process
flows, user experience, technology integrations, and performance.

Our solution helped the client to rapidly grow their customer database in a
short span of time. The company successfully added over 200 new customers in
less than 5 months.

CLOUD-ENABLED VIDEO TELEMATICS SOLUTION FOR A FLEET MANAGEMENT ISV

The client, a fleet management ISV, provides SaaS-based solutions to
organizations that want to keep track, monitor, and regulate their fleet. The
camera-driven solutions use video telematics to enable real-time remote tracking
and monitoring vehicles from a single screen. The client needed a cloud-enabled
mobile & web solution that could enable 24/7 remote monitoring of the entire
fleet which could help safeguard vehicles from any contingency.

Trigent’s more than two-decade experience in providing software solutions to the
logistics industry enabled the development team to design a comprehensive
cloud-based solution that:

 * Customized solution catering to businesses with vehicular assets
 * Better visibility into fleet operations
 * Timely and optimal utilization of services
 * Quick claim resolutions

A LEADING HEALTHCARE PROVIDER ENHANCES PATIENT EXPERIENCE WITH 100% DATA
ACCURACY

With Robotic Process Automation (RPA), a leading dermatology healthcare provider
with a network of 100+ clinics and dermatologists, simplified the data
management process, eliminating clinical risks resulting from human error that
allowed 2x more time with patients.

Trigent’s team’s experience in Analytics with RPA powered us to deliver
significant benefits to the client. Among them, the visibility of reports
empowered C-level decision-makers to make strategic decisions and save costs.
Also automating 150+ actions for each clinic brought savings in time, resources
and costs

A LEADING REITS IMPROVED APPLICATION PERFORMANCE & SCALABILITY BY MIGRATING TO
AZURE

A real estate investment trust (REIT), one of NA's largest publicly traded
owners and operators of open-air, grocery-anchored shopping centers, and
mixed-use assets. The company owns over 400 shopping centers & mixed-use assets
comprising 70 million sq feet of gross leasable space primarily concentrated in
the USA's top major metropolitan markets.

The client's existing setup was a legacy system and was unable to meet the
projected growth in the business & users. The system was using outdated
protocols, presented many security risks.

After a thorough assessment of the client’s infrastructure, the team designed an
effective migration strategy that rehosted (lift-and-shift) most applications,
with few carefully re-architected applications.

SEAMLESS AND SUPERIOR CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE FOR A DIGITAL HEALTH CONSUMER

Powered by its Next-Gen consumer digital health platform, the client enables
users to access the best available care options available as per their
employers’ insurance cover. The HIPAA-compliant platform encourages consumers to
take control of their health. It gives consumers the support and tools they need
to manage their health and well-being better.

The client wanted to launch a new platform that provided a unified view on the
web and mobile.

Trigent set up a purpose-built QA ODC with domain and functional experts,
aligned to the 4 service offerings (care, wellness, coach, and reward program)
and with the unified platform.

A LEADING CONSTRUCTION COMPANY ACHIEVES 90% TEST COVERAGE

An industry-leading Project Information Management (PIM) software streamlines
communication, manages files and simplifies construction administration. Their
software is used by over 122,000 users in more than 1,200 firms across the
world.

Quality testing for a new version or feature release in the Project Management
software requires testing across all permutations and combinations of the
release with the 3rd party software. The client needed a solution that ensured
the maximum test coverage while minimizing the time to market.

Trigent drew up a detailed compatibility matrix for the different versions of
the Software, the 3rd party products that are supported, its versions, and
associated constraints or limitations was created.

A LEGAL ISV ENHANCES CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE & SCALABILITY BY MIGRATING TO CLOUD

An ISV, founded in 1929, provides a suite of products for legal/litigation
support to more than 150,000 legal professionals across New York and New Jersey.
They offer web-based software, mobile products, and legal directories to process
servers, court services, staffing, and couriers.

The customers use the client’s services to gain data-driven insights and
relevant legal citations, precedents to build a comprehensive story of each
case. The client wished to preempt the possibility of service downtime, inferior
customer experience, reduce operational costs, and total cost of ownership.

They used Trigent's expertise to its workloads and environment from datacenter
to the public cloud. After a thorough assessment of the client’s infrastructure,
the team designed an effective migration strategy that rehosted (lift-and-shift)
most applications.

NEXT-GEN FLEET MANAGEMENT APPLICATION

The client provides innovative technology solutions for school bus tracking,
safety, and optimization. The company wanted to build a comprehensive solution
to ensure a safe, efficient, and convenient bus-riding experience for
stakeholders - school administrators, bus drivers, students, & parents. Also,
improve management and operational efficiency for fleet managers, dispatchers,
call center operators, and routing admins.

Trigent built a cloud-based web/mobile unified technology solution that helped
the client's business to grow from 2 to 15 districts, negated cellular data
usage costs, and cemented its leadership position in the fleet management
sector.

360 DEGREE TESTING FOR SAAS-BASED TRUCKING INTELLIGENCE COMPANY

This digitally transformed cloud-based trucking intelligence company provides
solutions to help fleets improve safety and compliance while reducing costs. The
platform is used by 2000+ truckload, LTL, private, and energy service fleets in
the U.S & Canada, including several Fortune 500 companies.

To match the clients’ specific product testing requirements, Trigent developed a
purpose-built test lab environment. Trigent provided end-to-end testing
solutions ranging from Installation Testing, Functional Testing, Regression
Testing, Disaster Recovery, and Database testing on an ongoing basis.

GENETICS INFORMATION COMPANY IMPROVES PRODUCT QUALITY THROUGH QA SERVICES

The client is a leading medical genetics information company, with revenues of
over $200m, with a mission to bring genetic information into routine medical
practice to improve the quality of healthcare.

As the business grew, they put added emphasis on customer experience, and this
required the applications to work at optimum levels without interruptions during
business hours.

Trigent’s QA & Testing Center of Excellence suggested comprehensive testing of
the application with multiple validation checkpoints to ensure stable and
reliable functionality. Trigent identified the workflow of all the applications
and built a DevOps strategy.

EDTECH COMPANY IMPROVED CSAT SCORE TO 85% WITH PERSONA-BASED TESTING

The client is one of the fast-growing EdTech companies that provide cloud-based
web filtering and parental control applications that work across schools and
homes. They currently provide safety for over 10 million students in more than
15,000 schools, monitoring 5 billion + online activities.

Their next-gen flagship product uses AI to process student activities across
emails, searches, social media activity, and apps. They needed a QA & Testing
partner who had an in-depth understanding of the education sector.

Trigent’s innovative solution required the team to do research and study the
behavioral patterns of a K-12 student.

A LEADING INSURANCE COMPANY ACHIEVES 70% REDUCTION IN TEST EXECUTION TIME WITH
TEST AUTOMATION

The client is a leading provider of SaaS platform for insurance procurement and
management. The client had an aggressive timeline to release new functionalities
and support new carriers.

Trigent built a test automation strategy and the team focused on improving the
test coverage through effective data selection mechanisms and combinatorial
optimization.

TEST AUTOMATION FOR A LEADING BENEFIT ADMINISTRATION & INSURANCE AGENCY

The client is a leading benefits administration and general insurance agency
that offers a diverse portfolio of consumer-driven health plans, compliance
services, group benefits to employers of all sizes.

The system underwent numerous customizations at a fast pace. To guarantee a
great customer experience, the system had to be comprehensively tested for every
change and required thorough regression testing.

Trigent’s team strategized a test automation approach. Automated regression
tests were done after each build, reducing test cycle time from a few days to a
few hours.

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION FOR A ASSET-BASED THIRD-PARTY LOGISTICS PROVIDER (3PL)

A 20+-year-old asset-based third-party logistics provider (3PL) providing both
brokerage & freight management and asset-based services of dry van,
refrigerated, and dedicated/private fleets.

The client had procured several off-the-shelf systems to run their business,
which contained large volumes of transactional data, and operational reports.
Organizationally, without having a single unified view of business, the client
did not have an insight into their operations and was unable to transform their
business.

Trigent suggested a scalable, comprehensive, and robust business intelligence
solution, which eliminated the data silos, and the client had a 360-degree view
of their business.

INTELLIGENCE ENGINE FOR AN INVESTMENT CONSULTING FIRM

The client is one of the largest independent, full-service investment consulting
firms servicing 300+ retainer relationships, representing assets of $1.5
trillion with approximately $65 billion in alternative assets.

They relied on a legacy portal, which took more lead time to design customized
investment portfolios. Manual data entry led to errors, and lack of data
integrity, data integration processes were long-winded — all these resulting in
poor customer experience and regulatory non-compliance.

Trigent developed a user-friendly, intelligent portal that enabled customers to
find the investment manager of choice.  Manual tasks and workflows were
automated, reducing errors, the time to build customized investment portfolios,
and improving regulatory compliance.

A SAAS-BASED HEALTHCARE COMMUNICATION PLATFORM

A healthcare IT services company with cloud-based software products that help
health organizations and individual patients to communicate, collaborate, and
facilitate remote consultation. The existing system had challenges with data
integration, patient privacy and security, and patient data management. The
system could not capture or interpret data, which led to medical errors, reduced
quality of patient experience and care.

Trigent developed a state-of-the-art HIPAA & HL7 compliant, integrated patient
SaaS-based communication platform.

INFRASTRUCTURE ASSESSMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL NGO

The client is an international, non-governmental organization focused on human
rights, and law enforcement. The global organization works to combat sex
trafficking, child sexual assault, cybersex trafficking, forced labor, slavery,
and addresses the citizenship rights of minorities.

The client relies on its complex computing and network infrastructure to store,
access, and secure highly confidential data. They wanted to identify ways and
methods to improve existing performance, reliability, and security across its
platforms and services.

Trigent followed a systemic process to review the entire infrastructure to
provide assessment and recommendations on technology projects, upgrades, and
modernization.

FORTUNE 100 VEHICLE MANUFACTURER BENEFITS FROM CLOUD

This American holding company is a leading manufacturer of commercial trucks,
buses, defense vehicles, and engines that shares an ongoing 16+ years’
relationship with Trigent.

For a new requirement, Trigent devised a novel method to rapidly analyze issues,
and try out 'what if' scenarios to resolve the problems in their
mission-critical enterprise software.

The mirror configuration test system (TriCon) deployed in an AWS Virtual Private
Cloud (VPC) identifies and helps resolve issues, without affecting the client's
official deployment and production systems.

INCREASED SALES EFFICIENCY FOR THE WORLD’S LARGEST BREWER

The no:1 brewer in Europe and one of the largest by volume in the world is
backed by a large sales force responsible for bringing in the revenue and
growing the business across the globe. The geographically dispersed sales team
needed a single integrated workspace that can be accessed from desktop and
mobile apps.

Trigent built Office 365 based platform with a simple UI, easy navigation, and
secure environment. The portal has since become integral to the sales function
and on a broader level to the business owners, providing them with a dashboard
view of sales performance.

A SURGE IN CUSTOMERS FOR INSURANCE COMPANY

Established in 1974, this insurance and financial multinational provides
comprehensive insurance solutions across diverse markets in 49 states in the US.
The organization was unable to meet its business growth plans even though they
offered economical products and user-friendly services.

Trigent’s domain consultants suggested building a mobile-enabled extranet site
that provides end-users with all their product and services information. The
self-service feature and FAQs, along with real-time views of requests, decreased
the number of follow up queries, resulting in increased customer satisfaction.
Presence on the Apple and Google Play store facilitated quick user adoption
expanding the number of prospects.

USER EXPERIENCE VALIDATION FOR FORTUNE 50 COMPANY

The customer is one of the oldest multinationals, owning over 400 brands in 190
countries, conceptualized a country-wide brand-building initiative that would
run on mobile devices.

Keeping in tune with the large scale branding initiative’s tight deadlines,
Trigent consulted, implemented, and tested a user-friendly mobile application.
The app, loaded with promotional videos and social content, incentivizes and
rewards viewers instantaneously.  The defect-free application was optimized for
the best user experience, and performance.

CLOUD-BASED CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT APPLICATION

A NY-based company provides a complete range of architectural services to global
customers. They wanted a comprehensive design-through occupancy project
management solution to help customers to manage project information and to
collaborate seamlessly with their consultants, contractors, and suppliers.

Trigent conceptualized, architected, and developed a highly intuitive, scalable,
and interactive, web-enabled project management platform. This has helped to
reduce transactional lead time, project maintenance, and operational costs, and
is a one-stop solution for design-to-construction projects.

UNIFIED PLATFORM FOR UNDERTONE

Undertone, a division of Perion Network Ltd. provides cutting-edge technology
solutions for the world’s leading brands. As a leader in cross-platform
synchronized digital branding for the world’s most prominent brands, Undertone
needed to ensure exemplary services to partners and customers.

Trigent suggested an integrated portal to enhance internal communication and
collaboration to help teams across geographies.

WORKFLOW AUTOMATION FOR GLOBAL TRADING CO.

The client is a global trading company spread across 63 countries with 120
offices, focused on domestic trading, import/export, and overseas trading of
various products.

Their operations were impaired by information silos and a large volume of
unstructured manual data. The cost of managing the non-electronic data and the
time involved in operational activities resulted in escalating costs, lower
productivity, and wasted person-hours.

Trigent automated the workflows, paper-based forms for regulatory requirements
were built using Nintex forms in SharePoint Online. The well-designed workflow
reduced manual work, increasing operational efficiency, and cost savings by
50%.

INTEGRATED SCHOOL SAFETY SOLUTION

This leader in integrated school safety technologies is trusted to protect over
23,000 K-12 schools nationwide. Their visitor management software is updated
24/7, with national records of registered sex offenders. A simple lapse in
updating of records would result in inaccurate management of visitor records by
trusted schools and partner institutions and potentially jeopardize the safety
of students, faculty, and staff.

Trigent’s experienced engineers with in-depth knowledge of the education segment
advised an automated data retrieval and management process. Trigent developed a
SaaS solution for High Scalability and Performance.

.

SHAREPOINT UNITES LAW FIRM

The second-largest group of healthcare attorneys in the U.S. The client is
viewed as a dynamic, forward-thinking law firm by its clientele ranging from
large publicly traded entities to early-stage startups. This law firm’s strength
lies in its counsel’s ability to deliver on-target results to meet the needs of
today’s healthcare laws and regulations.

To manage customer queries, the attorneys rely on their existing applications to
learn, share, and collaborate. However, the legacy system with its complex
workflow was a bottleneck hindering knowledge sharing.

Trigent’s SharePoint experts developed a slick portal, with attractive branding,
enhanced security, and easy search options.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work in the transportation and logistics software division at Trimble Inc. My
specific position is the carrier integration manager. This means I manage the
team that handles carrier web services and integrations, connecting our
easy-to-use platform to external carrier APIs that allow our customers to take
advantage of those connections.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Trigent Software?

Trigent Software is the driving force behind the team that maintains our carrier
API enhancements. They’re responsible for building out new carrier connections.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

My team works with Trigent Software to integrate carrier APIs to work within our
platform. If the carrier has a new product available, we integrate it with our
web services so that our customers can take advantage of it. This work includes
maintenance, upkeep, and enhancement.

What is the team composition?

My team consists of a lead, two developers, and a QA specialist. The plan is to
get the QA specialist to take on automation work at some point, and we’re also
trying to grow the team.

How did you come to work with Trigent Software?

We’d already established a relationship with Trigent Software before I came on
board, so I was introduced to them when I took over the team 14 months ago.

What is the status of this engagement?

This was before my time, but I believe we started working with them around
January 2017, and the engagement is still ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’ve expanded the team to bring on some of their resources because I’ve been
pleasantly happy with the work that they’ve done, the way they’ve operated, and
the communications they’ve provided. At a high-level look, their results are
plentiful, and everyone is happy with them.

In terms of project time to completion data, we don’t really have a structure
that allows us to pull that information. We can be put on hold for weeks at a
time, which is not necessarily something that we have control over. Since we
can’t rectify that, it doesn’t seem justifiable to take that into account when
looking at Trigent Software’s performance.

How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?

We work off of a Kanban board in Jira, shifting our projects around as time
allows. They’re also not afraid to ask questions or provide their own input. If
I need to rely on them to make some of the tougher decisions around development
when I’m not available, I have full confidence that they know what to do.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s the quality of work. I hear stories about other challenging contractors
that my company work has worked with, and I haven’t had to deal with those
issues with Trigent Software. In fact, I feel confident that I’ll never have to
deal with some of those problems because of how Trigent Software handles our
workload. They split up the teams on their own so that their developers can
focus on the work that we need. There are no extra frills.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, overall, everything has been going great, and the communication is awesome.
I’ve even had managers from their team check in to see how things are going,
which is always nice. That’s not something I see often with our other
contractors.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

As long as you maintain that fluid two-way relationship with the team lead or
the developers, you’ll get the best results.

Allow them to express their thoughts on the situation. Trigent Software’s people
know what they’re talking about, so it’s worth considering their suggestions. Of
course, the team can take direction very well, but they’ll do better when you
let them run with their creative thoughts.

They might want to try something that you won’t necessarily agree with, but I’d
suggest going with it if you have the time. Either they’re going to learn
something to better themselves, which will help you down the road, or they’ll
end up teaching you something that you didn’t know.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the lead QA engineer at Rally Health, a healthcare company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Trigent Software?

We were working with an offshore company and had issues with tasks not being
completed on time. There were a lot of miscommunications and we needed a new
provider.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Trigent Software provides manual application testing of mobile iOS and Android
apps. It’s for 10–15 different devices. They help us to run around 1,000–2,000
test cases when needed.

What is the team composition?

I had a main point of contact but I communicated with a lot of the team. There
are around 10 resources. If I need another resource, I can get them.

How did you come to work with Trigent Software?

We were one of the first companies who worked with them. Now, they are a huge
organization. My manager suggested them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $50,000–$199,999.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2018, and our work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

As they got ramped up, it became a smooth process for any new person coming in.
They took full responsibility and made sure that person was ramped up. That was
really good. We had less time spent onboarding. Once someone is on the call, we
know they’re trained.

How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?

At the start, it took time for them to ramp up but once they were in a flow,
nothing stopped them from excelling and learning new things. There was a time we
had to be on top of things and had to have calls regularly.

Once the process was in place, we didn’t have to spend much time explaining what
needs to be done. Emails and calls were sufficient. They execute the tasks every
day. They’re very accustomed to everything now. On a scale of 1–10 for project
management, I’d give them an eight. We use Jira for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s easy to work with them. They foster a professional and friendly
environment.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve on consistency in some cases.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend people who are self-starters and want to grow in the field of QA.
They give a lot of opportunities. Trigent is a good vendor for people first
entering the software world.

We needed help with testing.

SOLUTION

They’re building automated tests for our new web-based UI. They’re using Java

What is the team composition?

We have three people working on the project full time. We also have a part time

How did you come to work with Trigent Software?

One of the engineers at our company worked with Trigent in a previous role.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend $18,000 per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2020, and our work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve been doing very well and accomplishing all the tasks that we asked them
to do every sprint. It’s a complicated product for new people to understand, but
they’ve done a great job of getting up to speed. We’re quite happy with the work
that they do.

How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?

As far as I’m aware, they’ve been doing quite well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The speed at which they’re able to understand the product is impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing comes to mind.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It pays to have a part time project manager on their side to coordinate directly
with the project manager on your side. It takes a fair amount hand holding to
work with an offshore team, especially with the different time zones.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the president of HI-Way Safety Systems, Inc. We’re a line painting company
working all over New England.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Trigent Software?

We needed to develop online services for our staff and crew.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had Trigent create an online scheduling software that allows us to schedule
when we’re in the office or on the road working.

From that, it developed into a mobile app, which Trigetn also designed. It’s
compatible with both iOS and Android.

What is the team composition?

There were about 10 people working on the project. We had a project manager, who
was our main point person.

How did you come to work with Trigent Software?

We’d done research on several different companies online, and we found Trigent
has an office here in Massachusetts, which is ultimately why we decided to work
together.

How much have you invested with them?

We probably spent just under $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project took place from June 2019–December 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Trigent’s work was a success. We had a couple of ups and downs throughout the
project, and it took longer than anticipated. Overall, we were satisfied with
the quality.

How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Trigent was good. They responded promptly to any issues. We kept in touch mostly
over email; they shared a Google Doc, but I never really got into using it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Trigent understood what we were looking to do.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could’ve estimated the timeframe a little better.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m in specifications management for Navistar International, which is a major
truck manufacturer in the US with business around the world. My group monitors
and controls design releases from engineering to manufacturing.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Trigent Software?

There are billions of available feature combinations when ordering a truck.
Given the numerous compatibilities and incompatibilities, it’s a complex
process. Trigent offered us an engine that would allow us to release what we
call “mass customization”. In other words, we’d have the ability to release
combinations in advance of customer orders to confirm the compatibility of one
with another.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

My department is a handshake between manufacturing and engineering. We look at
how we can make systems be more user-friendly and efficient, which Trigent helps
us to accomplish. Trigent built software that we specifically use for “coding” —
a complex system of truck ordering that allows customers to customize vehicles
at the time of order.

Their team built an engine that allows us to evaluate releases and to quickly
convert orders into bills of material for all the combinations. It evaluates
orders for incompatibilities, ensuring that we don’t send orders that our
manufacturing team can’t build. As the platform continues to expand, their work
is perpetual.

We do 2–4 upgrades per year, creating new content and functionalities. After we
write requirements for the software, Trigent develops them. We then review the
functionalities together before putting them into production. We’re working on a
new project with Trigent to expand the coding engine for our sales department.

What is the team composition?

We meet weekly with 12–20 people from Trigent depending on the project. On an
ongoing basis, about 15–20 people from Trigent directly engage with us. There
are more working behind the scenes, however.

How did you come to work with Trigent Software?

Our IT department sourced Trigent before my time because our company had an
outdated and inefficient system. Our team likely sent an RFP to a bunch of
companies and reviewed them all.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend $1 million—$1.5 million per year with them, including maintenance,
efficiency upgrades, and special projects. Projects can range anywhere between
$100,000–$1 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

This project began in 2020, and we have an ongoing partnership. My company began
working with them 20 years ago.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our engagement’s primary success metric is the efficiency of upgrades. We assess
how many new features Trigent releases in any revision and whether or not there
are errors. We made a couple of patches in the last year for hundreds of changes
in functionalities. Trigent’s great, so we didn’t find any problems.

We sit down with them as a team and review what we want to do. By the time we
receive any revisions, we’ve already reviewed and tested the new
functionalities. When it’s time for release, we’re highly confident in its
accuracy. Users seldom have a problem with our releases.

An important quality is Trigent’s integration with us. When I pick up the phone
to talk with them, it’s like I’m talking with my team. They come up with
enhancement ideas that we haven’t considered because they know our business so
well. I’ve dealt with a lot of big companies for other types of software and
engines. It’s easy to do business with Trigent.

How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?

We work in sprints, which allows us to make changes to our requirements. By the
time we finish a project, we receive what we need. We meet regularly but can
also pick up the phone and call them at any time. We’re always talking about ad
hoc matters.

Trigent’s integrated with us. In terms of project management, it’s like working
with a team in our own company. Their team’s integrated into our own processes,
which makes them a part of us. Their business manager knows so much about our
business that it’s hard for them to miss. Between the technical expertise of the
coders and the systems, process, and business interface, we have a very
successful relationship with Trigent.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed by their unbelievable understanding of our complex
requirements. When ordering a truck, there are billions and billions of
combinations available. Trigent understands that, which makes them extremely
effective. Their ability to handle this complexity is phenomenal. We’ve had
other companies look at the requirements of this system, and they told us they
couldn’t do it. Trigent continues to do it quite successfully.

Are there any areas they could improve?

If I were to ask them to change and stand on their heads, they would. I don’t
feel that there are any constraints between our companies. There isn’t a request
that I wouldn’t feel free to share with them, and that they wouldn’t comply
with.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

The key to our success is Trigent’s business manager. Integrate their company
into yours as opposed to having a vendor-customer relationship.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m QA director for Securly. We’re a web safety company, offering solutions to
schools and parents.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Trigent Software?

We wanted to hire qualified and scalable resources for testing purposes.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started with a QA team of about two members of Trigent’s team who worked on a
specific project. There wasn’t a technology aspect of their responsibilities;
they worked on normal functions. Later, we hired more members of their team for
a development project. During that project, they helped with the development of
a VMS.

What is the team composition?

I worked with about three QA analysts and 3–4 people worked on the development
project.

How did you come to work with Trigent Software?

We reviewed 3–4 vendors that came through references. We compared their
processes, technologies, and services. We also assessed each vendor’s
scalability, and Trigent was flexible. Cost was another factor that influenced
our decision.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around $494,000 in their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We hired the initial QA team members in August 2019 and brought the developers
on board in March. That project ended in November 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their QA analysts executed the tasks that we handed them. We didn’t specifically
measure their performance on tasks. However, we observed the way that they
executed and followed tasks. Their team completed their tasks in reasonable
timeframes. We would like to hire the QA teammates who worked with us from
Trigent.

How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?

There wasn’t much management required. However, their selection process was
great. Trigent always gave us qualified candidates.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed by their diligence and commitment to their work. Their team
completed their assigned work within the timeframe given to them. I didn’t see
them slacking.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would’ve liked to have had a more technical member of Trigent’s team to have
analyzed our infrastructure and then led a consultation call during which they
gave us ideas for improvements.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

For QA, I would definitely recommend them. Their knowledge and recruitment
process are better than those of other vendors. Overall, their experience,
management, and hiring are great.

We’re a leading provider of integrated security systems. We provide visitor

bulk of our clients are K-12 schools. I manage the QA team in the company. We’re
responsible for testing apps before sending them out to clients.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Trigent Software?

We needed resources to make sure that we delivered with quality and speed.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Trigent Software is providing manual and automated testing. We first worked with
them when we were rearchitecting our app.

What is the team composition?

We have 11 resources from Trigent Software in India, and we plan to expand the
team.

How did you come to work with Trigent Software?

Our SVP of operations had worked with them in the past, and we started off with
two resources. We looked at 2–3 providers in total.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost so far is close to $1 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Trigent in October or November 2014, and our engagement
is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We track KPIs for Trigent Software’s team based on accountability,
dependability, skillset, punctuality, creativity, ability to deliver on their
own, ability to build a scalable process, and ability to listen and leverage
data to make decisions.

How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?

We have a test manager in India that works with them directly. He makes sure
that there are no ambiguities or roadblocks and passes information to me. I go
to India almost every year to meet with the team and pass them our values and
objectives.

We’ve made Trigent part of our family, so to speak, and we’ve lost only 1–2
members over the years. With the pandemic, everyone’s working online, and their
team is always accessible.

We’re using Microsoft Teams, and we have sprint demos and retrospectives with
everyone on our side and theirs. We’re using Azure DevOps as a development
repository. We post findings and different information on it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to take charge and make decisions is impressive. They also embrace
continuous improvement. As we’ve grown as a company, we’ve come up with new
processes and ideologies.

We’ve gone from a mom and pop shop to having over 100 employees in the US. Every
time I come up with a new process, Trigent Software embraces it. They listen
generously and put the team first.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had an assessment for 2020 last week, and one of the things I brought up was
that they could build a scalable process and be proactive.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Trigent Software is a great company to work with, and they deliver, but there
needs to be two-way communication. The client can’t just sign a contract with
them and expect miracles.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of Software Delivery for Newforma Inc. We specialize in AEC Project
Implementation Management software for the architecture, construction, and
engineering industry.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Trigent Software?

We needed to improve regression testing for releases of our enterprise software.
We had 10 quality engineers on the team, and there was a lot of feature work
that needed to be researched, developed, and investigated. I needed onsite
expertise so that our team wouldn’t spend almost a quarter of the time doing
regression testing.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Two different teams from Trigent support us. A functional regression test team
manually tests our Windows-based client-server software. Their team uses
TestRail and a defect tracking system. They also utilize Jira and Confluence, 2
Atlassian applications for issue tracking and document control management. Their
automation engineer test team uses SoapUI and Postman but also implement and
execute the GUI with TestComplete automation framework. Both teams work with
Microsoft technologies.

What is the team composition?

We average around seven people on the team. I work with a test manager, a QA
lead, four functional quality engineers, and two automation engineers.

How did you come to work with Trigent Software?

I previously worked with Trigent on a similar project while at a different
company. They did an excellent job of following written test cases. Their team
was also creative. They had technical expertise and automated functional test
cases as needed. As a result, Trigent was the first team that I considered to
tackle this challenge.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Trigent around January 2016, and it’s an ongoing
relationship.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We manage 6 releases over the course of a year. The fact that we still heavily
rely on them after five years is a success metric. If their team didn’t
accomplish what we needed them to accomplish, we wouldn’t keep them on board.

How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re an integral part of my team. I send the project manager and the QA lead
our release plans, and they organize test cases to fit our timeframe with our QA
manager. If there’s a risk that they won’t hit a milestone, their team will put
in the effort to ensure that we hit it. They’re willing to work around their
personal schedules to meet their commitments.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed by Trigent’s commitment. Their turnover rate’s low. Out of the
seven people who work on our account, I’ve worked with the same 4–5 people over
the past four years. I’ve worked with the same test manager, QA lead, and a
couple of engineers.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Communication’s always an important factor, especially with an offshore team. We
easily communicate with the test manager who speaks English well. The rest of
their team’s a little quieter, which is fine. However, communication’s one of
the biggest challenges when working with any offshore team.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We onboarded Trigent’s test manager and QA lead in person. They then brought
that information back to their team. That’s critical for any offshore
collaboration. It’s also important to keep communication lines open to ensure
everyone’s on the same page.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the Salesforce product owner for a global anti-human trafficking
organization.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Trigent Software?

We have a very large implementation going on right now. We’re designing our
Salesforce instance from scratch. This has been a two-year project. We’ll have
about 1,000 users on the platform.

The business challenge we had was that we needed businesses analysts and
particularly testing resources on the project that would be temporary, for 9–12
months. We needed those resources quickly because we realized we were not going
to expand our full-time positions to accommodate our need.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Trigent Software has become a very integral part of our Salesforce build team.
Their primary function is QA, so they've written the majority of the tests for
our Salesforce build and executed them as well. They participate in our sprints,
write the testing scenarios, execute those testing scenarios, and send things
back to development if they weren't completed correctly. About 80% of their
time, they do QA. In some instances, that involves regression testing of certain
things.

They are also performing a secondary role, which is training and UAT (user
acceptance testing) help. Our staff members are the ones ultimately delivering
training and helping execute through user acceptance of the platform; however,
Trigent has helped us create the content for those, including training
documentation and scenarios for users to execute. They’ve created 70–80% of that
content, and then our team is able to put the final polish on it. That just
saves us a bunch of time.

What is the team composition?

We work with two full-time QA team members, and then there is a project manager
who gives us a couple of hours each week.

How did you come to work with Trigent Software?

We have a longstanding relationship of 3–4 years with Trigent. We’ve worked with
them in a lot of different areas across our organization. Their Salesforce team
is pretty knowledgeable, so we’ve returned to them again and again for different
things, such as building a few pieces of our products in the past.

This is the first time we’ve them in this staff augmentation capacity. We’ll
most likely do it again in the future, because it’s been pretty successful.

How much have you invested with them?

It’s about an $80,000 engagement.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them at the end of May 2020, and they will continue on the
project until go-live, which will be around February 2020. It’ll be about a
ten-month engagement end-to-end, and, depending on how much work we have to do,
we may continue beyond that.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The primary benefit has been that full-time, HQ-based staff have been able to
focus their attention on business readiness and engagement. They can spend a lot
of time with our business partners and help them translate their needs into
requirements, instead of spending their time on QA.

I would say that my team got about 50% of their time back to reinvest in more
thorough business engagement. Had we not done this, our internal team would’ve
had to fulfill the role that Trigent is fulfilling. We’ve been able to put our
staff on more intentional, nuanced work to prepare our business for the changes,
and I think our project will be much more successful. Without Trigent’s support,
we would’ve moved a lot slower, or we wouldn’t have spent time with our business
partner.

We were also able to run UAT sessions simultaneous with build. That’s a little
unusual; a lot of times, you build the product and then do formal UAT at the
end. We were able to double up and run a more formal UAT along with our build so
that we caught problems earlier. We could do that because we had supplemental
staff, so our analysts could run formal sessions more readily. Overall, these
time savings allowed our team to deliver a better product and also engage with
our business in a change management capacity that we would not have been able to
do otherwise.

How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve very communicative. They provide summaries each week of what’s going on.
We meet with the two analysts every morning, and they’ve been very forthcoming
as well as accommodating in their schedules.

We use an internal agile management tool, and they leveraged that to work with
us on our product delivery. The rest of the communication is via email or
meeting.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their analysts learned our product pretty quickly, and that was quite impressive
because this is probably one of the most complex builds I’ve ever engaged on.
Their analysts’ ability to comprehend without us giving an enormous amount of
time to learn was great. We’d teach them a few things here and there as the
project kicked off, but we didn’t actually sit them down and put them through
any formal training to understand how our business works or how our product
would work. Nonetheless, they were able to keep up with us. They’ve been able to
craft this rather complicated build and ultimately provide value because they
understand what’s going on.

Are there any areas they could improve?

In terms of project management, I don’t think our visibility into scheduling is
very good. That has caused a few hiccups, such as not realizing people are out.
To me, that was less about the analyst and probably more about their project
management being more proactive in communicating holiday schedules and thinks
like that. They were responsive when we complained about it. That was probably
the only area where we had some hiccups.

Any advice for potential customers?

Just be really direct with communication and what you want. In the beginning,
the team wanted us to be highly directive, which I think had to do with the
nature of changing resources and cross-cultural relationships.

Now that they’re incorporated in, they’re doing a better job of making their own
judgment calls when they need to because we explicitly gave them freedom to do
so. I’d recommend being super straightforward and very specific about what you
want early on. As you work with resources, you’ll develop a more trusting
relationship where they’ll feel they have more freedom to make judgments calls
on your behalf.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an
edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CTO of PG Calc. We do actuarial calculations for institutions that do
planned-giving instruments.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Trigent Software?

We needed help moving an application from desktop to the web.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

For the first project, Trigent Software architected from the ground up in a
multi-tenant solution. It allows us to have multiple tenants and instances. A
client can be set up to have their own application, database, or server.

We can also set multiple clients up on the same application or database. For
another project, they rewrote another one of our products, migrating it to a web
version. It’s a tool used with and in front of donors. It’s touch-interface and
light on the communication side.

What is the team composition?

Initially, we worked with an architect and another person, neither of whom are
with the company currently. We have two people that have been the main points of
contact for both projects: a project manager and a technical lead.

How did you come to work with Trigent Software?

My colleague came across them in our search, and I had worked with them
previously. It was a positive experience, so we reached out to them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $2,275,000 roughly. For the past five years, we’ve had an annual
spend of around $350,000, and it was approximately $175,000 per year prior to
that.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together around December 2008, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They do a good job of completing tasks within a two-week target. We are
satisfied overall with the quality of their work.

How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?

We have weekly scheduled meetings and daily emails. Trigent Software provides
updates on testing, as well as upcoming and completed tasks. The communication
started out rough but is now great. We use SmartBear to exchange documents and
Bear Bugzilla for tracking bugs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have shown excellent ability to learn new technologies throughout our quest
to find solutions that meet the stringent regulations in our dealings with
banks.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Communication with senior management has lessened, but it’s so efficient with
the team that it’s not really a problem.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Due to their culture, they don’t like to give bad news or to say no. Ask them to
tell you negatives sooner rather than later to give you time to work on it.
