HOLLY HUNT and JAMES PEÑA Menu * Home * RSVP * Gallery * Events * Wedding Party * Travel * Gift Registry More PLEASE JOIN US FOR OUR WEDDING CELEBRATION ON April 5, 2024 167 days until the big day! OUR STORY It was a warm July day in 2018…the apps ( & Jesus brought us together). Fast forward to July 2021 when they actually gave it a chance. James remembered how much Holly loves her birthday so he slid into those DMs and they reconnected. He took her for sushi and Holly quickly realized he might actually be ready for something this time around. By the fall, they both knew this was something worth hanging on to. The proposal was a stroke of genius and a lot of work by everyone involved to pull one over on Holly. James had planned a trip to Orange Beach for them and their best friends in May 2023. Since James & Holly had talked about an August proposal she didn’t expect anything. Holly’s take: He was acting weird when we were leaving for the trip that I started to wonder! But I thought there was no way he could have a ring right now so I brushed it off. The day of though he got a little bossy, was concerned with his sunburn from golf that day, and didn’t know what to wear. Also Britt was adamant about taking pictures on the beach at a certain time. As we were walking to the beach I tried to grab James’ hand and he pushed me away! Turns out he thought I saw my dad attempting the drone and was trying to throw me off. The group had me go ask someone to take our picture ( again..a little bossy) I see one lone lady on the beach with her back to us and the second I started walking up to ask, I knew it was my mom. When I turned back around he was on one knee<3 Everyone had planned the perfect night since December and I had no idea! The best part was we had a week to enjoy it before coming back home.
