She said there were many children on the steamer coming from Hazelton, the Nass
Valley, Haida Gwaii, and Lax Kw’alaams. She can’t remember what she was told
about going away, but she does remember the unconquerable sea-sickness that laid
her flat during the entire voyage and the kindly ship’s purser who tried to help
her because the person who was supposed to be “supervising” her made no effort

self-harm, stolen culture and identity loss. The song was written more than 30
years ago by Camilla Haines, a residential school survivor born into the Gitxsan
nation and married into the Nisga’a Nation. “A Mother’s Cry”, the revered song
of northwestern B.C.’s Nisga’a people so effectively orates the anguish of
empty-armed mothers as their children were stolen that counsellors and community
supports are made available after each performance. My poor broken heart,
they’ve taken my children away.”

suites, built in 2020. The company began as Lind Brewing in 1989, named after
the company’s founder, Roger Lind, and started as a wholesale-only kegged beer
vendor. Through details like the brewers’ backgrounds and the histories of the
buildings, he makes each brewery jump off the page-a tall order, considering
there are 161 of them. Drake’s Brewing Co., one of the top-rated breweries in
Northern California, is also one of the state’s oldest craft breweries with a
history dating back to 1994.

In this book, Brooks (a BeerAdvocate contributor) leaves no pint glass unturned.

A year and a half later, yes, I found one listing that is no more (Boulder Creek
Brewery and Café) while Santa Cruz has two new breweries (Lúpulo and New
Bohemia), but I wish I hadn’t waited to get this very thorough book. Read
'California Breweries North' by Jay R. My husband convinced me to hold off on
purchasing “California Breweries North” when it came out, saying it would soon

Android, which replaces Google Hangouts. Google's Chat features make texting
between compatible phones a breeze, especially if you aren't sure whether your
friend or family member uses another service such as WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram
or another texting app. While RCS isn't yet close to becoming the true
replacement to SMS, you should still turn it on if you have an Android phone.
The iOS 16 Developer Beta appears to be supporting a similar translation for
reactions sent over SMS. In the meantime, Google has improved its Messages app
to correctly display reaction icons sent by Apple's phones instead of showing a
text describing who "Liked" your message. But despite Google's campaign, the
chances of Apple supporting RCS appear bleak. RCS now has the support of the
three major US carriers with Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T committing to make
Google's Messages app the default on Android phones sold by the carriers. These
include typing indicators, encryption and higher-quality photo and video

Google's Messages app is now the default texting app for most Android phones,
and the RCS standard allows for features that are similar to Apple's
iMessage without requiring a specific type of phone or setting up a third-party

phones, Google reported in May that there are now half a billion people actively
using the standard in its Messages app.

several obstacles and enemies along the main path, including Goombas, Bob-ombs,
a Chain Chomp, and iron balls that roll down the road spiraling around the

The new state of Bangladesh became the first constitutionally secular state in
South Asia in 1972.

The conflict saw the 1971 Bangladesh genocide and the massacre of
pro-independence Bengali civilians, including intellectuals. The refusal of the
Pakistani military junta to transfer power to the Awami League led by Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman led to the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, in which the Mukti
Bahini aided by India waged a successful armed revolution. The Bengali Language
Movement in 1952 the East Bengali legislative election, 19 Pakistani coup d'état
the Six point movement of 1966 and the 1970 Pakistani general election resulted
in the rise of Bengali nationalism and pro-democracy movements in East Pakistan.
It was renamed as East Pakistan with Dhaka becoming the country's legislative
capital. In 1947, East Bengal became the most populous province in the Dominion
of Pakistan. A referendum and the announcement of the Radcliffe Line established
the present-day territorial boundary of Bangladesh. Prior to the partition of
Bengal, the Prime Minister of Bengal proposed a Bengali sovereign state. In
1940, the first Prime Minister of Bengal supported the Lahore Resolution with
the hope of creating a state in eastern South Asia. The creation of Eastern
Bengal and Assam in 1905 set a precedent for the emergence of Bangladesh. The
Bengal Presidency grew into the largest administrative unit in British India.

In 1757, the betrayal of Mir Jafar resulted in the defeat of Nawab
Siraj-ud-Daulah to the British East India Company and eventual British dominance
across South Asia. Mughal Bengal became increasingly assertive and independent
under the Nawabs of Bengal in the 18th century. The Bengali elite were among the
richest people in the world due to strong trade networks like the muslin trade
which supplied textiles, such as 40% of Dutch imports from Asia. Under Mughal
rule, eastern Bengal continued to prosper as the melting pot of Muslims in the
eastern subcontinent and attracted traders from around the world. The region was
unified into an independent, unitary Bengal Sultanate. Sufi missionary leaders
like Sultan Balkhi, Shah Jalal and Shah Makhdum Rupos helped in spreading Muslim
rule. Becoming part of the Delhi Sultanate, three city-states emerged in the
14th century with much of eastern Bengal being ruled from Sonargaon. The Muslim
conquest of Bengal began in 1204 when Bakhtiar Khalji overran northern Bengal
and invaded Tibet. The Mauryan, Gupta, Pala, Sena, Chandra and Deva dynasties
were the last pre-Islamic rulers of Bengal. Ancient Bengal was an important
cultural centre in the Indian subcontinent as the home of the states of Vanga,
Pundra, Gangaridai, Gauda, Samatata, and Harikela. The country has a Bengali
Muslim majority. The official language is Bengali, one of the easternmost
branches of the Indo-European language family.īangladesh forms the sovereign
part of the historic and ethnolinguistic region of Bengal, which was divided
during the Partition of India in 1947. Chittagong, the second-largest city, is
the busiest port on the Bay of Bengal. Dhaka, the capital and largest city, is
the nation's political, financial and cultural center.

It is narrowly separated from Bhutan and Nepal by the Siliguri Corridor and from
