Este viernes, la agencia nuclear de Ucrania informó sobre una subida de los
niveles de radiación en la zona de exclusión de Chernóbil. Este territorio fue
tomado durante el jueves de esta semana por las tropas rusas.

Según un comunicado de la agencia, publicado en Facebook, los sistemas
automatizados de control de radiación en la zona de exclusión disponibles en
línea indican que la radiación ha aumentado en varios puntos de observación.

Con todo, “debido a la ocupación y hostilidades” en la zona, es actualmente
“imposible” establecer las razones del aumento de la radiación.

El Ejército de Rusia ocupó ayer la antigua central nuclear de Chernóbil,
escenario de la mayor catástrofe nuclear de la historia, después de fuertes
combates contra las Fuerzas Armadas ucranianas.

El presidente ucraniano, Volodímir Zelenski, consideró esta captura “una
declaración de guerra contra toda Europa”.

Kiev advirtió que, si los restos radiactivos resultan dañados, “el polvo nuclear
puede propagarse por todo el territorio de Ucrania, Bielorrusia y los países de
la Unión Europea (UE)”.

Zelenski alabó la entrega de sus soldados “para que la tragedia de 1986 no se
repita”, pero admitió que los soldados rusos acabaron por doblegar la
resistencia ucraniana, que perdió el control sobre Chernóbil.

Este viernes, el Ministerio de Defensa de Rusia refutó las declaraciones sobre
la subida del nivel de radiación en la zona.

Según el portavoz de la cartera rusa, Igor Konashénkov, los militares rusos se
ocupan de la protección de las instalaciones de Chernóbil junto con un batallón
ucraniano que se encarga de garantizar la seguridad de la antigua central
nuclear.



“Se ha llegado a un acuerdo con el batallón especial ucraniano de protección de
la central de Chernóbil para garantizar conjuntamente la seguridad de los
reactores nucleares y el sarcófago de la planta”, dijo.
