ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE

🎷 Outdoor Jazz Festival with 4 Jazz Bands, a variety of merchandise, artists,
jewelry vendors from around the country, food trucks, games, and fun for the
whole family. 🎺 Jazz Musicians include Buddy Fambro, Joan Collaso, Marqueal
Jordan, and the Willie Fultz Band featuring Skinny Williams.


WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Bronzeville was a city within a city, the second largest Black city in the world
in the 1940s, St. Clair Drake and Horace Cayton wrote in Black Metropolis. The
South Side, seven miles long and one and a half miles wide, stretched from 22nd
to 63rd Streets between Wentworth and Cottage Grove; supporting 500 churches and
300 doctors, it was the " capital of Black America" in the 1940s! One of the
primary destinations of the Great Migration of Blacks from the South to the
North.
