ABOUT NDISTEM
The largest multidisciplinary and multicultural STEM diversity event in the
country, the SACNAS conference is a gathering which serves to equip, empower,
and energize participants for their academic and professional paths in STEM.
Over the course of the event, college-level through professional attendees are
immersed in cutting-edge STEM research, professional development sessions,
motivational keynote speakers, and the Graduate School & Career Expo Hall, as
well as multicultural celebrations and traditions, and an inclusive and
welcoming community of peers, mentors, and role models. Simply put, the SACNAS
conference is a broadly inclusive space where you are encouraged and empowered

HURRICANE FIONA UPDATE:
We are closely monitoring the situation in Puerto Rico and the catastrophic
damage the island incurred from Hurricane Fiona. At this time, we have not made
any changes to our planned NDiSTEM conference. We have been in contact with the
general manager for the Puerto Rico Convention Center and the Convention Center
has not suffered any structural damage and is fully operational. In addition, we
have been in touch with several of our partner hotels and they believe that they
will be ready for NDiSTEM at the end of October. We strongly believe, given the
current reports from our contacts in San Juan, that the students and businesses
in Puerto Rico will benefit from our in-person support.
We are looking into ways we can help Puerto Rico in their recovery efforts and
will update as we have new resources and ideas. CienciaPR has put together a
list of vetted nonprofits as well as a list of free mental health & public

What do I need to register?
You will need:
* Individuals: Your personal information, your credit card information, and
(members will need) your member login credentials and member ID number.
* Groups: You will need the names, emails, t-shirt size and member number (if
they are members) for each of your group members.
What if I forgot my member number?
Current, dues-paying members may find it Here and follow these steps.
What if I sign up to be a member later?
You can still get the special member pricing by becoming a new member
or renewing your membership today! That's $75 off! Sign up HERE within 14 days
of receiving your registration confirmation email, and then send us your new
member number HERE for a refund!
When is payment due?
Payment is due at time of registration for all individuals. Groups registrations
have the option to pay by invoice with payment due within 30 days from date of
registration.
What if I need to cancel?
We would hate to see you miss the Conference. Inability to attend Insurance is
now included in all registration fees. You will receive a 100% refund if you are
unable to attend the event for a reason outside of your control that is covered
under the policy. This coverage starts on the date you pay for registration and
ends on the first date of the event. To view what is covered click HERE. SACNAS
does not issue refunds.
Is there transportation from partner hotels to the convention center?
Yes! Complimentary shuttles will be available from our partner hotels Wednesday
- Saturday.
Do you offer press passes?
Yes, we are offering press passes to 2022 NDiSTEM!
To apply for a pass, please fill out this form.
Press Applications close on October 24, 2022 and are approved on a rolling
basis.

The 2022 NDiSTEM Conference will take place October 27 to 29, 2022 at the
Governor Pedro Roselló San Juan Convention Center

The response to NDiSTEM 2022 has been unprecedented and we cannot be more
thrilled!
The SACNAS discounted room block has sold out for NDiSTEM 2022.
However, there are still many great hotels close to the Convention Center with
rooms available!
We highly recommend you source and book a hotel room as soon as possible.
Below are two popular hotel booking sites with the NDiSTEM dates preloaded for
your convenience. Please note that one shows rate per night and the other shows
total cost for the 4 nights.

Funding Support & Ideas
SACNAS travel scholarships are one option for members to get support to attend
the conference. *Applications for undergraduate students open on June 8! Click

for additional tips and ideas to fundraise as an individual or a group.
What to Bring / How to Dress
* While we typically recommend "business" or "business casual" for attendee
attire, the most important is to bring your whole self to the conference. We
encourage you to bring traditional dress, regalia, jewelry, and other items
to share your culture with our community!
We also recommend bringing:
* Proof of vaccination (see COVID Policy & requirements)
* Face masks
* Valid Government issued ID or Driver's license
Getting from Airport to Hotel
Ridesharing Services: Uber is available at the San Juan Airport. Make sure to
download the app prior to your departure— you can also reserve a ride in advance
with the Uber app.
Taxis: From airport to Puerto Rico Convention Center and nearby hotels,
approximately $17 each way. *Prices may change.
Autoriddad Metropolitana de Autobuses, or AMA Buses; These public buses pick up
at the airport. Regular fare: $0.75; Student $0.50; Ages 60 to 74 $0.25;
Children and elders Free. *Prices may change.
